Hunt’s Photo Walks & Workshops

Hunt’s Photo Walks are hands-on workshops that immerse the student in different aspects of photography, both technically and aesthetically. There is no better way to learn photography than through a hands-on experience, and these walks provide you with that opportunity. Our instructors will also give guided help to skill levels from beginner to advanced.

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Action & Sports- Myopia Polo

July 1st, 9am-6pm and July 29th, 9am-6pm. Myopia Hunt Club • South Hamilton, MA. Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we photograph the fast-paced sport of Polo at the Myopia Polo Grounds in South Hamilton

Hunt’s Photo Workshop: Portrait Series- Natural Light Portrait Workshop

Saturday, July 28th, 9am-6pm. In this workshop, we will emphasize creating portraits using available light through subject placement and composition through the aid of diffusers and reflectors.

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Boston After Dark- MIT Architecture

Friday, July 28th, 5-10pm, Cambridge, MA. Featuring night photography with some of the most unique architecture in Massachusetts, with Sigma lenses to borrow.

Hunt’s Photo Workshop: Using On Camera Filters, Featuring Garwin Falls, NH

Saturday, June 30th, 10am-6pm, Hunt’s Photo, Manchester & Garwin Falls, Wilton, NH. This unique workshop will be half classroom description, half in-field workshop, as we discuss filters and then put them to excellent use!

Hunt’s Photo Walk: The Trolley Museum, featuring Environmental Portraits

Sunday, June 24th, 10am-3pm, Kennebunkport, ME. This workshop will emphasize photographing interiors, macro and also feature photographing environmental portraits using models.

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Streets of the North End

Saturday, June 23rd, 10am-3pm, Boston, MA. On this walk, we will spend the evening establishing how to best photograph people and street scenes in different environments. This is a walk that will challenge your abilities, but will ultimately be a rewarding experience!

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Port of Galilee & Point Judith Lighthouse, RI

Saturday, June 16th, 3-9pm • Galilee, Narragansett, RI. The Port of Galilee is a fascinating, weathered and textured area for photography. We will begin the walk photographing in and around the port, then move toward the Point Judith Lighthouse for sunset.

Saturday June 9th, 10am-3pm, Boston, MA. Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a photo walk in downtown Boston, from Chinatown to Downtown Crossing which will feature street and architectural photography

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Boston After Dark- Zakim Bridge & Lovejoy Wharf

Friday, June 8th, 6-10pm, Boston/Cambridge. Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a night photography adventure along Boston’s historic waterfront area. On this walk, we will emphasize low light and night photography.

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Gilsland Farm Audubon Center

Friday, June 8th, 4-8pm, Falmouth, Maine. Gilsland Farm features 2.5 miles of trails, winding through meadows, in and out of woods, and along the shore of the Presumpscot River estuary and features a variety of plant and animal life. We will photograph this and the setting sun in this varied environment.

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens at Boothbay Harbor

Sat, June 2nd, 9am-1pm, Boothbay Harbor, ME. Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a photo walk at the Maine Botanical Gardens at Boothbay Harbor. The gardens are an ideal location for macro and closeup photography, as well as providing a beautiful environment for a walk!

Hunt’s Photo Walk: The Charles River Esplanade

Fri June 1st, 6-10pm, Boston/Cambridge, MA. On this walk, we will journey along the Esplanade on the Storrow Drive side of the Charles River, photographing some of these locations and the landscape along the river as well as the people.

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Bridge of Flowers, Shelburne Falls

Sunday, May 27th, 9am-1pm, Shelburne Falls, MA. We will divide our time on this walk between macro/close-up photography on and around the bridge and landscape/longer exposure photography around the falls. This will be an excellent opportunity to utilize both macro lenses and neutral density filters.

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Horn Pond

Saturday May 26th, 10am-3pm • Woburn, MA. On this walk, we will work on creative imagery, focusing on black & white as well as other techniques, such as panning & zooming to create a dramatic and fine art effect.

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Boston Public Gardens

Friday, May 25th, 6-10pm • Boston, MA. On this walk we will discuss settings and techniques for long exposures, architectural photography, subject development, black and white photography, and composition.

Hunt’s Photo Walk: Portsmouth at Night

Friday, May 18th, 6-10pm, Portsmouth, NH. On this walk, we will discuss and demonstrate various techniques for shooting in low light scenarios in and around the eclectic town of Portsmouth using available light.

Capture to Print, Featuring Cape Ann

Saturday April 28th at Cape Ann, Sunday April 29th at Hunt’s Photo, Melrose. Capture-To-Print is a day and a half of photography, editing and printing! Half photo walk, half editing and printing, we will take you through the whole process–from Capture to Print.
