South Portland, ME • Saturday April 7th, 10am-1pm
Recommended prerequisite: Intro to Photoshop knowledge
Class Level: Basic to Beyond Basic
In this course, we will go deeper into “the world’s best imaging and design app”. Designed as a continuation of our Intro to Photoshop class, this course assumes that you know much of the basic layout of the program and delves right into two of the most important aspects of Photoshop with photography- Layers and Masks. By using layers in Photoshop, you can combine multiple photographs; using masks, you can hide or reveal portions of a layer. Due to the intensive nature of Photoshop, we generally recommend to bring a laptop in order to follow along to see the myriad number of options available in the program.
In this course, we will be working with and explaining the following:
-Layers and how they’re used
-Adjustment layers for editing color, contrast, etc.
-Basic masking for adjustment layers
-Basic compositing using blending modes
-Compositing using masks
This class will be taught using Adobe’s Creative Cloud. Versions CS5, CS6 and CC are recommended for use with this class. Please be advised that Adobe Photoshop Elements has a very different layout and will not translate as well for instructional purposes.
