Friday May 11th
10-11am: Nikon Tips and Tricks : This will appeal to ALL levels of DSLR users. Our Nikon reps will show you some of the cool tips and tricks buried in the menus of your DSLR. A “must attend” for all who wish to get the most out of their camera.
11am-12pm: Travel Photography: The World Through Your Lens: It’s a big world out there, and we want to help you capture it! Join Tamron’s Janet Vuong to fine tune your skills on how to photograph your travels. Learning how to create the right exposure, how to approach your subject, how to compose new angles and perspectives, and how to pack your bag with the right lenses, are all layers to creating a better photograph. Open your eyes to the world of travel photography and your next trip may seem just that much closer!
12-1pm: Shooting impactful Portraits: Join Sigma Tech Rep Marc Farb for an informative session Sigma style. Learn about our line-up of lenses and how to control shooting better images. Get a better understanding of Aperture priority, Shutter priority, Bokeh, ISO. Learn how focal length/field of view and composition can impact an image and turn it from a snap shot to professional looking image. learn about proper lens selection, composition, basic posing and etiquette as well as many other tips and tricks of the trade.
1-2pm: Intro to Underwater Photography with Olympus: : This seminar will be an introduction to those interested in taking great photos underwater. Topics covered will be equipment, camera setup/recommended settings, basic composition/ technique, and camera/UW housing maintenance. Presenter Andy Bausk is a National Account Executive for Olympus, but prior to that worked in their department managing the Underwater category. He is an accomplished scuba diver and enjoys taking pictures Underwater whenever time allows. He has photographed underwater in such places as Mexico, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, and Cayman Islands just to name a few. Rest assured- if you are curious about Underwater Photography, this seminar is for you!
2-3pm: Recipe For Gorgeous People Photography with photographer Jennifer Maring:
Love, Life, and Laughter helps make people at ease in front of the camera. Join celebrity and lifestyle photographer Jennifer Maring as she shares her take on portrait and people photography, all the ingredients, and how she uses technology creatively to operate a highly successful studio.
3-4pm: RØDELink – Audio Without Wires: An introduction to the RØDELink Wireless Systems from RØDE Microphones. Join RØDE Product Specialist, Ryan White, as he discusses wireless technology and its advantages. This class will introduce the RØDELink Filmmaker, the RØDELink Newsshooter, and present content captured by these two devices. Along with audio content, Ryan will have each device on location for an up-close look at the microphones. This presentation will include a complete overview of each unit, their features, and a practical look at their uses. Please join to further understand wireless technology and the RØDELink Systems from RØDE Microphones.
4-5pm: Shutter Speeds & Creativity: Yes, the Aperture can create dramatic depth-of-field separating the subject from the background scene but the Shutter Speed can create the mood and feel of an image. Come learn and explore how to use Shutter Speeds to blur, freeze and enhance motion; help to get sharper images; and work together with flash to dramatize the scene. Hunt’s Education Instructor, Otha Sonnie will lead you through the various methods of selecting and using Shutter Speeds for optimum image capture and creativity.
Saturday May 12th
9-10am: Nightscapes with Hunt’s Photo Education: Join Hunt’s Educator Emily Hojnowski as she shares the fundamentals of night photography. This presentation will cover techniques to use in the field, gear needed, and tips for achieving your best shot.
10-11am: The New Canon Flash: The new Canon 470EX is engineered to change the way you think about flash photography. Join Canon tech rep Jared Powers as he demonstrates what is really a “first of its kind” flash. Recommended for anyone interested in flash photography!
11am-12pm: A World of Nikon Lenses: Explore the world of Nikon’s Legendary Nikkor Lenses. See spectacular images from some of the finest lens in the world. Learn what are the essential lenses and why to choose one over another!
12-1pm: Getting better images in sports photography Join Sigma Tech Rep Marc Farb for an informative Digital 101 on fast action photography. Learn about our line up of lenses and how to control shooting better images. Learn some of the techniques to getting better images for fast action sports and also some lens selection choices to making more impactful images. Take advantage of Marc¹s knowledge and select the right lens(es) for your shooting needs and also get the real story on how to get the best use out of a tele converter and what lenses they actually add benefit to.
1-2pm: Live Your Dream… Be Your Dream with Photographers Charles and Jennifer Maring:
We are more than just a Professional Photographers. Rather, we consider ourselves photo-enthusiast as well… For many of us, the camera is more than just a way to make a living, it’s a personal journey filled with passion, interesting stories, people, and places, Each of our journey’s is completely unique, which makes it very personal as well. 2-3pm: Which One for Me? Choosing between the a7Riii, a9, and a7iii: These cameras are revolutionary, cool, designed with the utmost attention to detail. This seminar will discuss the differences between the models and what advantages each has from professional application to everyday photography.
3-4pm: Creative Portraits with Lensbaby The lens family of Lensbaby is like no other on the market, and they produce effects which your average lens cannot achieve. In this seminar, Lensbaby rep Mishalla will show you how to effectively use these lenses to great affect through hands-on demonstration.
4-5pm: Cameras, sensors, lenses, tripods, printers Oh My…:In photography, multiple factors need to come together to create spectacular images. What you are shooting, where you are shooting, how you are shooting, and lastly how you are showing the final result will impact the equipment you use in each phase of the process…. along with a bit of luck sometimes. Join Hunt’s Education Coordinator, Otha Sonnie as he discusses why size does matter, whether the camera, sensor, lens, tripods, printers or lighting components. Learn which may be best for you ….. large, medium or small.
5-6pm: Images from Cuba: Real & Raw with Don Toothaker:
Simply put, Cuba is like no other place on earth. Life for the Cuban people changed dramatically in the 1960’s. It’s as if the country was placed in a time capsule for fifty years and suddenly emerged, opening the doors to all who wish to explore. Join Hunt’s Adventure Director Don Toothaker as he discusses his experiences in Cuba over his past two trips and his plans for future adventures there!
