January 18, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
One event on January 18, 2020 at 9:00 am
This workshop specifically illustrates and teaches students to understand flash, how and why it works, both on and off the camera. Specifically, this class is geared at both students that are just starting out with flash, as well as those that have been using flash, but want to learn how to use it more effectively on the camera. Our workshop will emphasize how to best use the flash on-camera. The workshop will also cover light modifiers, gels and an in-depth description of how to make it work, including internal remote triggering. Speedlight photography is integral to creating interesting and dynamic photography. Any brand-flash is welcomed and can be discussed.
We will begin discussing camera and flash settings, then move on to photographing each other (as test subjects). For the second half of the class, we will have a model to photograph.
The following will be covered in this class-
•Settings on your camera
•Settings on your flash
•Integrating the two together
•Flash compensation- Changing brightness of your flash output from picture to picture
•Direction of Flash
•Using light modifiers with flash
•How to appropriately utilize your environment
•Mixing flash and ambient light
•Introduction to internal and external triggering
•Taking the flash off-camera
•Shooting with additional accessories
We will have shooting components to practice these skills.
