Online: Beyond the Basics- Sports, Camera, Action!

April 2, 10:00 am - 11:15 am

$20

In response to COVID-19 and recommendations by the CDC of social distancing, Hunt’s Photo Education is presenting our new series of online classes! (Hey! We wanted to do it anyway, this just sped up the process!) These courses will be shorter (about 1 hour), online versions of many classes that we currently offer, plus a few new ones, and include Q&A at the end.
Below the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run.

To photograph sports is similar to the sport itself, pushing the limits of your camera and lens. A knowledge of focusing, exposure, depth of field, composition, and more make for more thought-provoking sports photographs. Above all, photographing sports takes practice, control, concentration, and a knowledge of the goal.
In photographing, not every sport is created equal (for settings)! There are sports in bright, mid-day sun; there are sports indoors under a fluorescent, high school “sky”; there are sports with black backgrounds and sports with white backgrounds. How do we compensate in each scenario?
In this seminar-based class, we will discuss many of these topics for a variety of different scenarios and sports, including basketball, football, hockey, cross-country, and more. Topics of discussion will include:
-Basic camera settings
-Auto-Focusing modes and settings
-Lens options
-Thinking out of the Box!

Registering and what is needed
After you register for this class, you will receive a confirmation email that you have signed up. About 24 hours prior to the class time, we will send out an email with the weblink for you to follow as well as information on how to access the class online. (It’s pretty easy, but we’ll walk you through it in a quick online video!)

Layout of the class
The class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic, followed by a short Q&A. During the class, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions, but if not, feel free to ask them at the end.

Please read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.
