DESCRIPTION:In a continuation of our Digital Photography Basics 1 class\, this course continues by discussing more very important elements\, including how to get better results with focusing\, depth of field\, photographing in RAW vs JPEG and more! This course offers an excellent opportunity to continue learning about the many elements of Digital Photography! \nJoin us as we continue learning about Digital Photography! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. DESCRIPTION:After learning “the basics” of digital photography\, become more comfortable in the world of digital photography by taking the next step.\nLearning about photography can be a real challenge! For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the “Priority Modes” (Ex. Aperture Priority) because it’s “easier”. In reality\, these priority modes are just one solution. For some photographers\, there is only the manual mode. But why is it important to shoot in the Manual mode? Are there reasons to use manual vs. Aperture priority and vice-versa? How can we maximize usability?\nIn this class\, we will cover:\n• Your Camera’s Light Meter and how it works\n• Use of Aperture Priority vs. Manual modes\n• Histograms\n• Photographing in RAW vs. Jpeg\nUnderstanding the full-functionality of your camera is a necessity to improving your flexibility when photographing in a variety of situations. This course is designed to help you feel more comfortable about how to change your camera’s settings in those situations. It is recommended as a follow-up to our Beginner Photography course.

And while we also offer other wonderful Beginner Photography classes to get you started\, nothing is truly the same as hands-on in-the-field! It’s important to fully understand the “why” and “how” of your camera settings.\nIn this outdoor\, hands-on class\, you’ll learn all about the basics of photography. We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background)\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about your camera in a fun and safe environment! Join us to strengthen your photographic knowledge!\nIn this session of Beginner Photography in the Field…\n…we will be going to Profile Falls in Bristol\, New Hampshire. From the beautiful falls to the greenery of the trails leading to it\, Profile Falls is an excellent location to learn about photography. This session can be taken with or without a tripod\, giving you the ability to walk freely or learn a little bit extra about creating longer exposures!  Bring your camera and your enthusiasm to learn all about photography in a hands-on\, real-life environment!

We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. We recommend taking this class prior to Digital Photography Basics 2\, which is the next logical step! \nJoin us to start learning about Digital Photography! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked.
