Harness your creative power with?photography!\nThis is one of the first classes to consider when you’re getting started with your Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera. We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what?s in focus in the background\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. We recommend taking this class prior to Digital Photography Basics 2\, which is the next logical step!\nJoin us to start learning about Digital Photography!\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. DESCRIPTION:Please note: This is a 2-part class that will meet on the dates listed above\nAfter learning ?the basics? of digital photography\, become more comfortable in the world of digital photography by taking the next step.\nLearning about photography can be a real challenge! For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the “Priority Modes” (Ex. Aperture Priority) because it’s “easier”. In reality\, these priority modes are just one solution. For some photographers\, there is only the manual mode. But why is it important to shoot in the Manual mode? Are there reasons to use manual vs. Aperture priority and vice-versa? How can we maximize usability?\nWhile our Beginner class scratches the surface of these functions\, this Beyond the Basics class will cover in-depth:\n?Your Camera?s Light Meter and how it works\n?Use of Aperture Priority vs. Manual modes\n?Histograms\n?Photographing in RAW vs. Jpeg\nWe will also give an assignment to do outside of class in order to help strengthen your photographic abilities!\nUnderstanding the full-functionality of your camera is a necessity to improving your flexibility when photographing in a variety of situations. This course is designed to help you feel more comfortable about how to change your camera?s settings in those situations. It is recommended as a follow-up to our Beginner Photography course.

There is so much to photograph there and a wonderful variety of subject matter\, including textures\, angles\, and compositions that can lead to some truly excellent photographs. DESCRIPTION:Please note: This is a 2-part class that will meet on the dates listed above\nAfter learning ?the basics? of digital photography\, become more comfortable in the world of digital photography by taking the next step.\nLearning about photography can be a real challenge! For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the “Priority Modes” (Ex. Aperture Priority) because it’s “easier”. In reality\, these priority modes are just one solution. For some photographers\, there is only the manual mode. But why is it important to shoot in the Manual mode? Are there reasons to use manual vs. Aperture priority and vice-versa? How can we maximize usability?\nWhile our Beginner class scratches the surface of these functions\, this Beyond the Basics class will cover in-depth:\n?Your Camera?s Light Meter and how it works\n?Use of Aperture Priority vs. Manual modes\n?Histograms\n?Photographing in RAW vs. Jpeg\nWe will also give an assignment to do outside of class in order to help strengthen your photographic abilities!\nUnderstanding the full-functionality of your camera is a necessity to improving your flexibility when photographing in a variety of situations. This course is designed to help you feel more comfortable about how to change your camera?s settings in those situations. It is recommended as a follow-up to our Beginner Photography course.

DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our new Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have 10-15 attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nMastering Manual Mode\nLearning about photography can be a real challenge. There are so many pieces to the puzzle of photography\, some of which use confusing terminology. For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the Priority Modes because it’s “easier”. It’s important to fully understand the “why” and “how” of your camera settings\, and learning to master manual is an excellent way to do so.\nThis Multi-Session Series will focus on Mastering Manual Mode. In week 1\, we?ll cover the technical side of aperture\, shutter\, and ISO. We?ll also discuss metering modes\, reading your meter\, and understanding histograms. In week 2\, we?ll learn to control depth of field\, focusing\, and how lens choice affects aperture choice. By week 3\, we?ll discuss how to use shutter speed effectively to either blur your motion or freeze your action. We?ll talk about shooting at night and in low light. We?ll also talk about ISO and how it controls image noise. In week 4\, we?ll put everything together by discussing dynamic range\, white balance\, and how to get the correct exposure in camera every time. We?ll also answer the most important question of all: which change should I make to achieve my desired results?\nEach week Emily will give an assignment to help further the topics covered in that week?s class. Students are encouraged to send in assignments that will be individually critiqued by Emily each week. It?s important to fully understand the ?why? and ?how? of your camera settings.\nIn this outdoor\, hands-on class\, you’ll learn all about the basics of photography. We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what?s in focus in the background)\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about your camera in a fun and safe environment! Join us to strengthen your photographic knowledge!\nIn this session of Beginner Photography in the Field…\n…we will explore and photograph Historic Downtown Boston at Night. Boston is a vibrant\, colorful city after dark. Despite the limitations of darkness there is still great detail and color to be captured through your lenses. Our walk will take us through  Faneuil Hall\, Christopher Columbus Park\, and more. We will make use of evening light\, civil twilight\, and night time as we explore the architecture and city highlights. All of these elements make for a wonderful experience to learn beginner photography while in the field. DESCRIPTION:Photographing waterfalls is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Nothing can ruin those perfect moments of listening to the sound of the water rushing while your camera captures the beauty around you\, although the bugs may try.\nIn this class\, we’ll talk about the technical and the artistic elements used to capture waterfalls at their best. This includes camera settings and adding in filters\, as well as composition and storytelling.\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end.\n?You Are Being Recorded? (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class!
