SUMMARY:Online: Special Guest Series- Vintage Editing Workshop with Lindsey Ruth
DESCRIPTION:Join photographer Lindsey Ruth for the Vintage Editing Workshop! This session provides an in-depth look into vintage inspired editing techniques in Photoshop to create timeless\, nostalgic edits. This online workshop will break down the editing process step by step using portraits from the Vintage Portrait Workshop and will go over topics such as color grading\, applying textures\, creative editing tricks\, and much more. (You do not need to have attended the Vinatage Portrait Workshop to register!)\n  \nLINDSEY RUTH is a Los Angeles based studio photographer specializing in surrealist portraiture. She began photography over a decade ago with an approach focused on blending post-production and mixed media techniques to create unique works. In 2025\, she joined the ambassador team at Sigma America. \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 24 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–90 minutes– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. SUMMARY:An Intro to Creating Cyanotypes - A 2-Part Workshop- Hunt's Photo\, Melrose
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we dive into a workshop that will quite literally bring you back to the days of film and hand-printing!\nCyanotypes are quite literally BLUE prints that can be simply made by placing a negative on top of a piece of coated paper (or other material) under UV light (or the sun) for a period of time. Once washed in water\, the resulting print produces a brilliant blue image on a white background. \nCyanotypes are also sometimes also referred to as sun prints\, as you can put semi-translucent items in front of the negatives/paper to create an ethereal look in your prints. We will demonstrate both processes during this workshop. \nThis is a 2-part workshop. In our first session\, we will discuss the process\, materials needed\, how to create a digital negative\, the cyanotype chemistry\, and other fun elements to include with your cyanotypes. We will spend the rest of the first session making cyanotypes–coating paper\,  adding semi-translucent items\, and printing images. For session 1\, we will use a set of pre-made digital negatives to give you a good idea of the type of images that work for cyanotypes. \nIn our second session\, we will continue coating and printing using your images. You are also welcome to bring in other materials you have brought from home\, if you choose. \nThis is a unique workshop that will emphasize creativity and process. \nA few items of note:\n• In this workshop\, we will be utilizing cyanotype chemistry\, consisting of ferric ammonium citrate (for light sensitivity) and potassium ferricyanide (for color). As described by the chemistry company Photographers Formulary\, “…[Potassium Ferricyanide] is not particularly toxic… [unless] placed in a strong acid solution; however\, strong acid is not used in the cyanotype process.”\n• Because we will be working with chemistry\, you must follow all instructions given regarding chemistry and personal protective equipment.\n• Because this chemistry can stain\, we will be taking precautions and wearing gloves. We strongly recommend bringing an apron\, one that you won’t mind if it changes colors.

To learn how to do that\, check out our Lightroom File Management and Editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic Sessions! \nAdobe Lightroom is an ever-changing and ever-expanding program. As such\, it can be hard to keep up with many of the changes in the program that make processing your images easier\, more efficient\, and with better adjustment capabilities! \nAfter taking the basic “Editing in Lightroom Classic” sessions\, our “Intermediate Editing in Lightroom Classic” is the obvious next step. In this course we will reinforce what we learned in the basic class\, but pepper in more advanced capabilities\, including newer editing capabilities. Specifically\, we will cover: \n\nAI Masking and Advanced Masking Techniques\n\nSky\, Subject\, and Background Masking\nObject Masking\nAdding into Existing Masking\nColor/Luminance Range Masking\n\n\nDistraction Removal\nDenoise and Super Resolution\n\nProfiles\n\n\nRGB Tone Curve\n\nPerspective Correction\n\nAnd more! \nThis is a 2-Part class. SUMMARY:Developing Black & White Film- Hunt's Photo Waltham
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we discuss all the key elements of loading and developing film\, and get you to develop a roll on your own! In this workshop\, we will show you how to load film into a developing tank\, discuss the elements of the chemistry involved\, and other various aspects. Because of the many variables\, we will only be using one specific type of developer\, but we will discuss the possibilities of other developers available and their advantages. \nPlease note: This class caters to black & white film developing only! We will also have a color film developing class. All film classes can be found here. \nWe will provide tanks\, reels\, chemistry\, and basically anything that you need to develop your film. All you will need to have is a roll of film to develop. (Make sure that roll is black and white and NOT C-41 black and white\, as that cannot be developed in black and white chemistry!) \nWe will also include a free scan of your film after it has been processed! Since your film will be wet at the end of the session\, you will leave it to dry so it can be scanned. The digital scans will be sent directly to your email address. If you would like the negatives to be shipped to another store for pickup\, we can gladly do that!
