SUMMARY:Online: The Printed Vision- Printing on Rice Paper!
DESCRIPTION:The printed image shows our successes and our faults at a much higher level of detail than the digital image. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product. \nThis Month’s Printed Vision Session: Printing on Rice Paper! \nRice paper is a style of paper that is delicate\, unique\, and tells a story! This is a fabulous style of paper that is underutilized in the printing world but can ultimately produce stellar and very different images! \nThis Print Review topic will meet for two sessions. In the first session\, we will discuss the topic– some of the key differences between paper surfaces\, considerations what images to choose to print on Rice Paper\, how to best edit your images\, paper selection\, and other important elements of making a print on Rice Paper.  Attendees will independently process 1-2 images and upload them to the instructor\, educator Paul Nelson\, for review. Paul will send back a video image review discussing what you did and how to improve your edits for print. Paul will then print images on two papers for comparison. You may choose to have the same image printed twice (recommended) or two separate images. Due to size restrictions of rice paper\, we will be limiting the size of these prints to no larger than 8.5 x 11\, although we are happy to make a larger print outside of the class for an additional fee. \nJoin us for this unique Printed Review class! \nA Note About The Printed Review Series \nOur Print Review Monthly is a chance to continue the print conversation over the course of many months. These sessions are excellent for anyone: \n• Someone that wants a little help with editing before they get a print \n• Someone that does print but has print-related questions \n• A person that prints often and wants to try a different paper \n• Someone with no knowledge of printing that just wants to get a print! \n  \nCome check out why printing is the best thing to do for your photography! \n  \nIn-Person or Online \nThis class will be taking place in-person in our Melrose store location and online\, in case you cannot attend live. If you cannot attend live\, your print can either be mailed to you or picked up at one of our Hunt’s Photo store locations.

SUMMARY:Developing Color Film- Hunt's Photo Waltham
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we discuss all the key elements of loading and developing film\, and get you to develop a roll on your own! In this workshop\, we will show you how to load film into a developing tank\, discuss the elements of the chemistry involved\, and other various aspects. Because of the many variables\, we will only be using one specific type of developer\, but we will discuss the possibilities of other developers available and their advantages. \nPlease note: This class caters to color/C-41 type film developing only! We will also have a black and white film developing class. All film classes can be found here. \nWe will provide tanks\, reels\, chemistry\, and basically anything that you need to develop your film. All you will need to have is a roll of film to develop. \nWe will also include a free scan of your film after it has been processed! Since your film will be wet at the end of the session\, you will leave it to dry so it can be scanned. The digital scans will be sent directly to your email address. If you would like the negatives to be shipped to another store for pickup\, we can gladly do that!

DESCRIPTION:Please note: This course does not cover file management or importing images into the program\, or the Basics of Editing. To learn how to do that\, check out our Lightroom File Management and Editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic Sessions! \nAdobe Lightroom is an ever-changing and ever-expanding program. As such\, it can be hard to keep up with many of the changes in the program that make processing your images easier\, more efficient\, and with better adjustment capabilities! \nAfter taking the basic “Editing in Lightroom Classic” sessions\, our “Intermediate Editing in Lightroom Classic” is the obvious next step. In this course we will reinforce what we learned in the basic class\, but pepper in more advanced capabilities\, including newer editing capabilities. Specifically\, we will cover: \n\nAI Masking and Advanced Masking Techniques\n\nSky\, Subject\, and Background Masking\nObject Masking\nAdding into Existing Masking\nColor/Luminance Range Masking\n\n\nDistraction Removal\nDenoise and Super Resolution\n\nProfiles\n\n\nRGB Tone Curve\n\nPerspective Correction\n\nAnd more! \nThis is a 2-Part class. We encourage testing out what you’ve learned in between sessions to maximize your experience! \n \n \nAn important note about this course! There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now.This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as “Adobe Lightroom CC” (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. The look and feel of the program is completely different– This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. (See graphic on the right.) SUMMARY:Online: Color Management- Monitors\, Profiles\, Color Spaces\, and More!
DESCRIPTION:What is Color Management? Why is it important to shoot RAW? Why (and How) do I need to calibrate my monitor? Why do images look different on different computers or devices?\nIf you want to know the answers to any of these questions\, we implore you to join us for our Intro to Color Management class\, where we will discuss the importance of all elements of color. We will discuss\, among other points:\n• A brief workflow of how to get the most accurate color\, from camera to print\n• The importance of monitor calibration\, including a live demo\n• The differences in color spaces and monitors\n• How to use the Xrite Colorchecker (and similar reference targets)\nColor management is an essential part of photography. Join us as we demystify the workflow! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don?t worry about taking unending notes.
