SUMMARY:Holiday Macro & Tabletop Photography Workshop- Hunt's Photo Melrose
DESCRIPTION:Hunt’s Photo Education is proud to present our annual Holiday Macro & Tabletop Workshops. These workshops are designed to help you create\, compose\, and photograph stellar mini-holiday masterpieces. Photographers that participate in these workshops will also have one of their holiday photographs printed 13×19″ and hung in the Hunt’s Photo Gallery in Melrose for the month of December. (More details below.)\nWe will begin each workshop with a demo that will discuss camera settings\, lighting\, composition\, subject placement\, and more. You will then create and photograph your compositions for the remainder of the time during the workshop\, with instructor assistance available. Our ultimate goal in this workshop is at least one “final piece” that can be printed on a large scale.\nAt the end of the workshop\, attendees will work edit and process their images individually and submit 1-2 images to the instructors for review\, then print the images as 13×19″. These photographs will be hung in our Hunt’s Photo Gallery in Melrose for the month of December\, after which you will be given the print.\nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating stellar holiday macro imagery. We will stay with you during the editing process\, and even guide you in understanding the best processing for a final print. Join us for one of our favorite workshops of the year!

DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be working in natural light and flash! We will have a opportunity to take some wonderful portraits in a beautiful\, green environment\, excellent practice for senior portraits\, engagement sessions and more! For gear\, we will have the ability to use both Westcott (FJ80\, FJ200\, FJ400) or Godox (AD200) strobes/flashes as well as Westcott diffusers\, both of which are excellent brands for creating stunning portraits. SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop: Urban Portraits with Natural Light (or Flash!)
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be utilizing the natural\, urban environment to work into our portraits. Brick buildings and cityscapes will all work into our compositions as we create a more working class feel in our portraits–a very unique look. We will emphasize creating these portraits using available light through subject placement and composition with the aid of diffusers and reflectors. We will then separately demonstrate reasons to add in flash.\nWe will begin photographing late afternoon in the sunlight (and shade) and work to sunset in the picturesque brick of downtown Lowell. We will be using both Westcott (FJ80\, FJ200\, FJ400) and Godox (AD200) strobes/flashes as well as Westcott diffusers\, both of which are excellent brands for creating stunning portraits.\nThis workshop will be co-taught by Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson and professional photographer Henry Marte. Both have extensive portrait experience and will take you through the full process\, from naturally lighting a subject\, to how to properly expose while using strobes\, to how to actually use the strobes themselves!\nPhotographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nAbout Henry Marte\nHenry is a published photographer and credited filmmaker. He specializes in various forms of photography\, including portrait\, events\, headshots\, drone\, and commercial photography. Other than attending MassArt’s Documentary Film School\, he is almost entirely self taught. He runs a small media production studio called Marte Media\, based out of Western Avenue Studios in Lowell. Some of his clients include Spartan Race\, UMass Lowell\, Phillips Academy\, Navigation Brewing Company\, and more. Originally from NYC\, he now calls Lowell\, Massachusetts his home. He enjoys New York style pizza\, walks with a camera\, and hiking to active volcanoes.

These photographs will be hung in our Hunt’s Photo Manchester store location for the month of December\, after which you will be given the print.\nBut wait… There’s more! In addition to all of this\, we will also create a holiday card for you! While this may seem like a very small item\, these cards are stunning– as much in importance as the large scale print!\nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating stellar holiday macro imagery. We will stay with you during the editing process\, and even guide you in understanding the best processing for a final print. Join us for one of our favorite workshops of the year!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Morning at Boston Common & Public Gardens- Memorial Day Flags
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we explore and photograph the historic Public Garden in Boston on Memorial Day weekend. On this walk\, we will emphasize working in morning light\, with an emphasis on settings and techniques for subject development\, black and white photography\, composition and more. The morning light in and around the Gardens is distinctively different than in the evening (which we will be photographing the day prior)\, and equally as beautiful. Our main focus will be on the impressive yearly flag display at the Common and all elements having to do with it.
