SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: The Faroe Islands
DESCRIPTION:The Faroe Islands Photography Workshop opens the world of the forgotten Faroes. The Faroe Islands are just a short flight from Iceland\, yet they?re way off the standard traveller?s radar. Adrift in the frothing swells of the North Atlantic\, this mysterious 18-piece jigsaw puzzle of islands is at once ancient and very modern. In this workshop\, we will focus on the landscape of the islands along with the magnificent Atlantic puffin that nests all over the island.\nOn the Faroe Islands Photography Workshop\, you are never more than 5km (3 miles) away from the ocean. The countryside is dominated by steep mountains\, where about 80\,000 sheep roam and some 2 million pairs of seabirds\, including puffins\, gannets and the largest colony of storm petrels in the world\, soar above. The Faroe Islands are undeniably beautiful? green\, rugged and wind-swept.\nYour trip includes: \n\nAll accommodations with private bathrooms during the workshop\nPricing is for double occupancy. If you are traveling with someone else and want to share a room\, this is for you! For single supplement\, please add $1000 to the cost of your ticket. \nAll meals during the tour.\nGuiding by Hunt’s Photo Adventure?s Don Toothaker & an Icelandic Pro Photographer\nImage Critique & Post Processing session\nTransportation during the workshop\n\nYour trip does not include: \n\nInternational Flights\nCancellation/Travel Insurance (Strongly recommended)\nAlcoholic drinks\nGratuity for your Icelandic photographic guide\nOther activities\n\n\nYour passport will be required on this workshop.\nA Little Bit About the Workshop:\nThis is a guideline for the workshop we need to be flexible and adjust to the weather and conditions. As always when traveling we need to be mindful of nature\, follow dedicated paths and other safety instructions from guides.\nDay 1 ? Arrival in Faroe Islands\nArrival in the Faroe Islands and check into the airport hotel\, it?s in walking distance from the airport. A welcome dinner for the group to get to know each other. We?ll go over the itinerary and prepare for our adventure. Followed by a sunset shoot.\nDays 2 ? 4 ? Faroe Islands V?gar\nWe?ll explore the landscapes of V?gar for the next three days. Mountain views\, waterfalls\, lakes\, old fishing villages\, village of B?ur and Tindh?lmur islet. We will visit to Mykines Islands\, if weather permits.\nDays 5 ? 7 ? Streymoy & Eysturoy\nOn day five\, we will relocate to town of Gj?gv. For the next three days we will explore neighboring islands\, the capital T?rshavn\, the southernmost town Kirkjub?ur on Streymoy\, ruins from Magnus Cathedral form the 1300?s\, churches\, farmhouses\, and\, of course\, plenty of beautiful landscapes.\nDAY 8 ? Departure\nWe will end the workshop at noon (12pm) at the airport\, so please plan your flights accordingly.\nFlight & Payment Information\n? Day one and eight are dedicated to arrival and departure so people can schedule their flights accordingly on August 15th and August 22nd.\n? A deposit of 25% of the total cost of the trip is required upon sign-up to secure a spot. The remaining balance is due 90-days prior to the workshop. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.\nTransportation to Faroe Islands:?Most flights to the Faroe Islands from the United States will come through Iceland via Atlantic Airways. Again\, this flight is not included in the cost of your ticket.\nAccommodations:? We stay at the various hotels & guesthouses\, but as close as possible to our photography locations.\nSkill Sets:?All Levels of Photographers are Welcome.
