DESCRIPTION:Beware! These classes will make your mouth water!\nAnother entry in our Food Photography Series- Holiday-themed tasty treats to boost your holiday spirit!\nIn these hands-on workshops\, we will cover all aspects of food photography: exposure\, composition\, styling\, working with food\, lighting\, props\, and more.  In this workshop– Holiday Baked Goods (and more!)– we will specifically be working with…you guessed it! We will cover many of the basics for beginners and add challenges for more advanced food photographers. Baked goods are *easier* to work with than some of the other foods because of their stability as a product\, allowing us to spend more time “getting it right”. We will have the opportunity to also photograph other tasty sweets\, too!\nFor this workshop\, we will provide some baked goods and tasty sweets\, but photographers are welcome to bring their own baked goods as well! We will also provide lighting and diffusers. Photographers are welcome to bring their own additional props.\nAdded Bonus! We’re Making a Cookbook!\nAfter the workshop\, we?re going to make a cookbook! That?s right: A Holiday Cookbook of student work!\nOver the course of the month of December\, each participant is going to photograph their own personal holiday creation on their own\, then submit the image and recipe to us. We?ll have a brief online session showing the process of building the book. In the end\, each participant will receive a copy of the softbound cookbook! This is a great way to share photos\, share recipes\, and get creative in a totally different way! We can’t wait!

SUMMARY:Holiday Macro & Tabletop Photography Workshop (Manchester)
DESCRIPTION:Hunt’s Photo Education is proud to present our annual Holiday Macro & Tabletop Workshops. These workshops are designed to help you create\, compose\, and photograph stellar mini-holiday masterpieces. Photographers that participate in these workshops will also have one of their holiday photographs printed 13×19″ and hung in our Hunt’s Photo Manchester store for the month of December. (More details below.)\nWe will begin the workshop with a demo that will discuss camera settings\, lighting\, composition\, subject placement\, and more. You will then create and photograph your compositions for the remainder of the time during the workshop\, with instructor assistance available. Our ultimate goal in this workshop is at least one “final piece” that can be printed on a large scale.\nAt the end of the workshop\, attendees will work edit and process their images individually and submit 1-2 images to the instructors for review\, then print the images as 13×19″. These photographs will be hung in our Hunt’s Photo Manchester store location for the month of December\, after which you will be given the print.\nBut wait… There’s more! In addition to all of this\, we will also create a holiday card for you! While this may seem like a very small item\, these cards are stunning– as much in importance as the large scale print!\nThis will be a fun and challenging workshop that will walk you through the full process of creating stellar holiday macro imagery. We will stay with you during the editing process\, and even guide you in understanding the best processing for a final print. Join us for one of our favorite workshops of the year!

DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, we will spend our day creating a variety of still life set ups\, unique macro scenarios\, and learning about the use of light and light modifiers\, all with the emphasis of our theme\, The Fall! Get your cinnamon sticks and cornucopias ready! How about them apples? Yeah\, we’ll photograph those\, too! It’ll be a fun day with or without pumpkin spice as we set the mood of the October/November season!\nWe will be bringing lots of props and flowers to photograph for this workshop. However\, we find in our macro workshops that our attendees value shooting some things of their own as much if not more than what we bring. So\, while we will have props\, feel free to bring your own props\, trinkets\, and other things that may (or may not) be important to you!

DESCRIPTION:Lensbaby lenses are a unique series of lenses\, available for most camera systems that give a variety of looks and effects. From swirling bokeh to dramatic vignettes\, velvety glows to swirly blurs\, and often with a bright sharp center\, these lenses present a unique style for the user experience. Lensbaby lenses are also not always the easiest to use or understand and require a lot of practice and fine-tuning.\nIn this workshop\, we will be working exclusively with Lensbaby to create Macro (and Still Life) images. We will begin with a demo discussing using Lensbaby\, how to factor in lighting\, creating macro setups\, and then dive right into individuals photographing their own setups.\nThis will be an excellent way to workshop your lens and is recommended for anyone that has struggled with or has questions on Lensbaby!

DESCRIPTION:This is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. How do we organize our photos? What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we ?step it up? and figure out what to we?re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are ?good? or ?correct?. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! In Week 1\, we will begin by discussing how to organize your images for quick retrieval via keywords\, ratings\, and more\, as well as giving a description on how to consider organizing your photos on your computer. Specifically\, we will cover brief computer file management\, the importance of keywords\, flagging and rating photos\, and searching metadata to find images. In Week 2\, we?ll start with the basic adjustments using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. We?ll then dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. In Week 3\, we?ll discuss advanced editing\, including local adjustments\, such as radial and graduated filters\, and how to ?finish? the image- sharpening\, noise reduction\, and more.\nIn-between each session\, we will give assignments to help you become more proficient and grasp the material! This class is strongly recommended for anyone looking to further their skills with Lightroom!\nAn important note about this course! There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now. This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as ?Adobe Lightroom CC? (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. The look and feel of the program is completely different? This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. (See graphic on the right.) If you are unsure\, feel free to email us at classes@huntsphoto.com. Important: If you are taking this course\, make sure to download/update the program in advance\, as you will not be able to download the program at the store. In these hands-on workshops\, we will cover all aspects of food photography: exposure\, composition\, styling\, working with food\, lighting\, props\, and more.  In this workshop– Baked Goodness– we will specifically be working with…you guessed it! We will cover many of the basics for beginners and add challenges for more advanced food photographers. Baked goods are *easier* to work with than some of the other foods because of their stability as a product\, allowing us to spend more time “getting it right”.\nFor this workshop\, baked goods will be provided\, but photographers are welcome to bring their own baked goods as well! We will also provide lighting and diffusers. Photographers are welcome to bring their own additional props.

For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the “Priority Modes” (Ex. Aperture Priority) because it’s “easier”. In reality\, these priority modes are just one solution. For some photographers\, there is only the manual mode. But why is it important to shoot in the Manual mode? Are there reasons to use manual vs. Aperture priority and vice-versa? How can we maximize usability?\nWhile our Beginner class scratches the surface of these functions\, this Beyond the Basics class will cover in-depth:\n?Your Camera?s Light Meter and how it works\n?Use of Aperture Priority vs. Manual modes\n?Histograms\n?Photographing in RAW vs. Jpeg\nWe will also give an assignment to do outside of class in order to help strengthen your photographic abilities!\nUnderstanding the full-functionality of your camera is a necessity to improving your flexibility when photographing in a variety of situations. This course is designed to help you feel more comfortable about how to change your camera?s settings in those situations. It is recommended as a follow-up to our Beginner Photography course.
