DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event is taken by the Wakefield Rec Department at this Link!\nTuesdays July 8th\, 15th\, 22nd\, 29th\, August 5th\, 4:30-6pm • Hunt’s Photo\, Melrose \nPlease note: These sessions are for kids aged 12-16. You can find our sessions for kids age 8-11 here.  \nDo you have a budding photographer that you want to encourage? Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a multi-session photography program aimed at strengthening their interest\, improving their photography\, and getting them truly excited about being the artist\, the creator\, and the family photographer! \nOver the course of these sessions\, we will cover a wide range of topics\, from composition & perspective to depth of field & movement. In every session we’ll have a brief introduction to a topic followed by a fun practical exercise. Our goal is to get your photographers taking pictures as much as possible! At the end of each session\, we’ll give an assignment for the following week\, and at the start of the next session\, we’ll look back on the images to see what we liked about them. \nOur goal in this program is to have a lot of fun and not bog students down with too much technical stuff. However\, we will also scaffold instruction\, so if an attendee wants to know more about the technical aspects\, they still can! Please note: This course is geared towards students aged 12-16 years old. Our age requirement is general and a certain maturity level is helpful.  Younger students with interest and a level of responsibility are welcome to attend. \nStudents will be required to have some kind of camera. We generally recommend a DSLR or mirrorless camera\, but if you’re unsure\, feel free to contact us at classes@huntsphoto.com \nThis will be a fun program with experienced instruction. And don’t worry if you can’t make one of the weeks–you’ll still learn a lot and have a great time!

However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. How do we organize our photos? What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! In Week 1\, we will begin by discussing how to organize your images for quick retrieval via keywords\, ratings\, and more\, as well as giving a description on how to consider organizing your photos on your computer. Specifically\, we will cover brief computer file management\, the importance of keywords\, flagging and rating photos\, and searching metadata to find images. In Week 2\, we’ll start with the basic adjustments using Basic Development controls. Older versions\, such as Lightroom 5 or 6\, are also acceptable\, though not all functions will be available.
