The talk will cover working in the field\, adapting to changing conditions\, and developing a personal workflow that supports long-term growth. Attendees will gain practical insights along with a deeper perspective on creating meaningful images from nature. \n\n  \nAbout Kevin Bruff: \nKevin Bruff is a Rhode Island–based landscape and nature photographer whose work focuses on the coastal environments and seasonal changes of New England. Through a process rooted in observation\, repetition\, and patience\, he explores how returning to familiar locations can deepen both technical skill and creative vision. His images often reflect a balance between structure and spontaneity\, shaped by time spent in the field across locations such as Middletown Valley\, Sachuest Point\, and Beavertail. \nIn addition to his creative work\, Kevin brings a professional background as a Systems Engineer\, where he has developed a strong foundation in analytical thinking\, process development\, and problem-solving. This technical perspective informs his photographic approach\, blending methodical planning with openness to discovery. \n  \nAn avid hiker\, Kevin spends much of his time immersed in nature\, using the landscape not just as a subject\, but as a collaborator in the creative process. He is also the founder of the Photographers Café community\, where he encourages photographers to grow through consistent practice\, shared learning\, and thoughtful exploration.

Our patient and entertaining instructors will cover all the basics in this hands-on class\, including changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background)\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. \nOur two guarantees:\n You will learn a lot!\n You will have a fun time doing it! \nSome character references: \n\n“I was impressed with how well the class was run\, the amount of material covered so thoroughly and how all different camera types were incorporated without it causing issues.
