And while we also offer other wonderful Beginner Photography classes to get you started\, nothing is truly the same as hands-on in-the-field! It?s important to fully understand the ?why? and ?how? of your camera settings.\nIn this outdoor\, hands-on class\, you’ll learn all about the basics of photography. We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what?s in focus in the background)\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about your camera in a fun and safe environment! Join us to strengthen your photographic knowledge!\nIn this session of Beginner Photography in the Field…\n…we will be going to Dorrs Pond in Manchester\, New Hampshire\, in the evening! Dorrs Pond is a recreational area with a gorgeous nature trail that leads around the pond with lots of birds! In this Beginner Photography in the Field class\, we will emphasize working on shooting in lower light conditions and long exposures\, with the aid of a tripod. This will be a fun and unique experience that will be a rewarding experience for any photographer!

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning of learning what filters we want to use in photography\, how to use them\, and then go out into the field to get some hands-on practice!\nWe will begin in our Hunt’s Photo Manchester classroom to learn about filters\, how to use them properly\, how to attach them to the camera\, and\, if applicable\, purchase filters. We will then travel down the street to an area where we will have a quick hike to the Merrimack River to practice long exposures during the day and practice slowing the water as well as how to properly use a CPL!\nWhether you’ve used filters and still have questions\, you’ve never used filters\, or you need a little inspiration\, this is a great opportunity to have some fun with filters!

During the walk\, we will discuss many of the aspects of photographing in low light and at night\, including exposure\, focusing\, composition\, and more. Photographers of all levels are welcome!\nPortsmouth\, New Hampshire is a large eclectic town along the coast of NH.  The town features a blend of new and old architecture amid a variety of shops\, restaurants\, docks\, boats\, and colors.  The end of the day and night time is a rich and beautiful time for creating photographs.  We will discuss and demonstrate various techniques for shooting in low light scenarios in and around Portsmouth using available light.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Frogs & Turtles: A Photo Expedition at La Salette
DESCRIPTION:Frogs! Turtles! Flowers! The pond at La Salette Shrine has so many fun things to photograph\, many of which you don’t have a lot of normal access to!\nOn this walk\, we will emphasize using super telephoto lenses (that’s lenses that go up to 600mm!) to get really exquisite close-ups of many of these aquatic creatures. If you don’t have a lens to 600mm\, any telephoto lens will certainly work (But always remember that we have a rental department- rentals.huntsphoto.com.\nWe will also be joined on this walk by our Sony rep\, Jon Helgason. DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Tuesday September 27th\, 7pm EST\nImage Review Tuesday October 11th\, 7pm EST\nPhotography can be a very technical process\, but more important than the technical prowess of your photograph is the creative center. Join Hunt’s Photo Education’s lead educator Emily Hojnowski on our expanded Alt-Creative Series\, which is all about digging deep into many creative elements in an alternative method of photography! In these classes\, we will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThis month?s topic is Intentional Camera Movement. In the first session\, we will discuss all about Intentional Camera Movement: why and how to create them\, and how to make the most out of them. We will give an overview of how to set up your camera for the movements\, including settings.  We will then reconvene for our Image Review on the second date\, giving you time in between to complete the assignment.\nJoin us\, do something fun\, and get creative!
