SUMMARY:Macro Photography for Beginners
DESCRIPTION:Learning about photography can be a real challenge. There are so many pieces to the puzzle of photography\, some of which use confusing terminology. And while we also offer other wonderful Beginner Photography classes to get you started\, nothing is truly the same as hands-on in-the-field! It?s important to fully understand the ?why? and ?how? of your camera settings.\nIn this workshop\, come learn the basics of macro photography in a hands-on environment! Aperture! Shutter speed! Focus! Exposure! Composition! We will spend our day creating a variety of unique macro scenarios and learning about the use of light and light modifiers. In this workshop we will cover exposure\, composition\, how to use macro lenses and extension tubes\, how to set up lighting\, how to use light modifiers and more!\nWe will be bringing lots of props and flowers to photograph for this workshop. However\, we find in our macro workshops that our attendees value shooting some things of their own as much if not more than what we bring. So\, while we will have props\, feel free to bring your own props\, trinkets\, and other things that may (or may not) be important to you!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Wool Spinning Long Exposures at Carson Beach\, South Boston
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a unique\, fun\, and picturesque Photo Walk involving creating long exposure light trails from spinning wool! Spinning wool to create sparks is a fun (and fairly easy) exercise\, but requires a bit of explanation and some safety tips. Hunt’s Photo Educator Ron Phillips will be giving a lesson in how to spin wool and will discuss everything from safety precautions\, execution on how to spin for greater effect\, and how to integrate it with your camera in long exposures. A tripod is required for this walk.

We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the ?Walk? portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month?s topic is “Colorful”. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: A Winter Day at Olde Sturbridge Village
DESCRIPTION:Located an hour west of Boston\, Sturbridge Village is a proud replication of an 18th century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era.\nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. We will photograph both indoors and outdoors\, in regular light as well as very low light. We will discuss how to work with subjects to create a story\, and also work on settings to fine-tune focus and exposure! This Photo Walk is one of the best opportunities to build your photographic knowledge\, no matter what level. DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a night walk on the border of Cambridge and Boston near the Museum of Science Park. Our walk will take place atop the Museum of Science garage to photograph into Cambridge & Boston. This is an excellent opportunity to obtain stunning views of the city from an angle rarely seen. We will continue to photograph along the Charles River.  Throughout this walk\, we will make use of evening light\, civil twilight\, and night time as we explore architecture and city highlights. This is a great\, picturesque walk that can’t be missed!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Fan Pier After Dark
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a night photography adventure in Boston’s burgeoning South Boston Waterfront. During the walk\, we will discuss many of the aspects of photographing in low light and at night\, including exposure\, focusing\, composition\, and more. Photographers of all levels are welcome!\nFan Pier is located in the South Boston Waterfront\, commonly referred to as the “Seaport District”\, which is one of the fastest growing areas in Massachusetts. It holds the beautiful ICA Boston- Institute of Contemporary Art; the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center; one of the first modern “Innovation Districts”; the Harpoon Brewery and Taproom; and many hotels and nearly one hundred restaurants. It’s vibrant\, filled with people\, and truly fabulous to photograph. On this walk\, we will photograph at Fan Pier\, the ICA\, along the waterfront\, and more\, making use of evening light\, civil twilight\, and night time.
