SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Water Drops (and more!)
DESCRIPTION:Water Drop Photography is a style wherein one drops a liquid into another liquid and photographs it in a way that emphasizes the “unseeable”–little droplets\, the corona of the drop\, and more. This style uses high speed flash in order to stop the action instead of fast shutter speed. It is a simple technique that can be achieved with even the most rudimentary gear\, but it can produce infinitely different results. Just like snowflakes\, you’ll never be able to duplicate a water drop.\nIn this workshop\, we will begin with a live demo describing the gear\, settings\, set-up\, and execution of water drop photography. We’ll then dive right in\, beginning simply and then moving on to not just water droplets\, but also other items! Photographers of all skill levels are welcome\, but one should come with patience!\nTwo important notes: We will be using flash in this workshop. You do not need to own a flash\, and we may use only what we have anyway\, but you are welcome to bring one if you have one in order to understand how to replicate it on your own. Also\, to minimize on gear and space\, we will be working in groups of two.

We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what?s in focus in the background)\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. This will be an excellent opportunity to learn about your camera in a fun and safe environment! The Roger Williams Park is a massive area of greenery and beauty in Providence with a Rose Garden\, Japanese Garden\, beautifully constructed buildings\, such as the gazebo\, peaceful waterways\, quaint bridges\, and so much more! There is so much to photograph there and a wonderful variety of subject matter\, including textures\, angles\, and compositions that can lead to some truly excellent photographs. It’s the perfect place to learn about photography! Bring your camera and your enthusiasm to learn all about photography in a hands-on\, real-life environment!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Sunset on the Charles River Esplanade
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a photo walk featuring sunset along the Charles River Esplanade.\nThe Charles River Esplanade has experienced immense changes over the past 100 years to what we see today. Originally “The Embankment”\, the area expanded in the first half of the 20th century to include boat landings\, playgrounds\, trees and plant life\, and the Hatch Memorial Shell. In the second half of the 20th century\, Storrow Drive and the Dr. Paul Dudley White Bike Path–an 18-mile stretch– were added.\nPhotography will start at the Storrow Lagoon location working our way along the Charles River and back towards the Longfellow Bridge. We will explore scenes and compositions as we go making use of the golden hour light until ending at our final location\, a dusk shot of the city of Boston and the Longfellow Bridge!  Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend!

Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era.\nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend! \nHorn Pond is a wonderfully scenic area\, offering many outdoor activities such as hiking and bike riding. These same trails are an excellent place to explore many types of photographic opportunities\, emphasizing nature\, landscape\, and macro. On many of our walks\, the quality of day can positively or negatively affect how our images turn out. On this walk\, we will emphasize making the best out of any situation\, whether cloudy\, sunny or rainy (well\, not too rainy). Join Hunt’s Photo Education’s lead educator Emily Hojnowski on our expanded Alt-Creative Series\, which is all about digging deep into many creative elements in an alternative method of photography! In these classes\, we will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nIn this month?s topic\, we’ll discuss shooting Lensbaby lenses: Different Lensbaby options\, how to effectively use them in the field\, and how to achieve different effects. In the first session\, we will discuss all about the topic\, give an assignment\, and in the second session\, we’ll have an image review.\nEmily is a Lensbaby Ambassador and uses these lenses on every shoot! Photographers of all levels are welcome!\nPortsmouth\, New Hampshire is a large eclectic town along the coast of NH.  The town features a blend of new and old architecture amid a variety of shops\, restaurants\, docks\, boats\, and colors.  The end of the day and night time is a rich and beautiful time for creating photographs.  We will discuss and demonstrate various techniques for shooting in low light scenarios in and around Portsmouth using available light.
