Focus Stacking and Macro at the Stevens-Coolidge Gardens (with Emily Hojnowski)-\n??????Focus Stacking is the process of combining images of different focus in order to create images with greater depth of field\, which are particularly advantageous in macro images. Attendees will work with Emily on the in-camera processes in-the-field\, compare them with regular macro images\, and will follow up with image reviews later in the weekend.\n? Street Photography at Copley Plaza (with Ron Phillips)-\n??????Street photography is all about blending in\, finding compositions\, and being ready. Ron will work with attendees on finding that subject matter\, getting it right in-camera\, and shooting without a tripod to create fabulous street photo images!\n? Finding Color in Marblehead (with Don Toothaker)-\n??????From homes and flags to the ocean and lobster traps\, seaside towns provide a beautiful array of color. This walk will emphasize looking for color as we hunt for compositions along the ocean.\nEvening Options\n? Light Painting in Boston (with Emily Hojnowski)-\n??????When creating long exposures\, adding additional light?either from flashlights\, light wands\, or other well-lit devices?can add an additional depth and interest to your images. In this walk\, we will add in light along the cityscapes of Boston.\n? Drag the Shutter- Portraits with Movement and Flash! (with Rebecca Wade and Emily Hojnowski)-\n??????Create dynamic portraits with movement by lowering your shutter speed and using flash (provided by Hunt’s!). This simple technique has endless possibilities and will create some of the most unique portraits imaginable!\n? Photography without a Tripod in Harvard Square (with Ron Phillips)-\n??????If you really hate using a tripod\, this will make your evening\, as we work to create amazing compositions and dynamic shots without the aid of a tripod. We’ll traverse Harvard Square in the evening to create stunning exposures of unique compositions!\n? Exploring Black & White in Winchester (with Don Toothaker)-\n????? SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Canterbury Shaker Village
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a photo walk at the historic Canterbury Shaker Village.\nShakers were a religious group formed in England in the 1700s from a variety of religions\, including English Quakers and Methodists. (Shakers were named based on their ecstatic dance\, initially known as “Shaking Quakers”.) Shaker communities sprouted throughout Northeastern Colonial America\, eventually heading westward. Due to the celibate nature of the communities\, the Shaker communities dwindled into the 20th century\, including the Canterbury Shaker Village\, whose last surviving members died in the early 1990s. Founded in 1965\, the Canterbury Shaker Village preserves the heritage of the Canterbury Shaker Community from the past two centuries. The settlement is complete with original Shaker buildings\, as well as the surrounding area of forests\, fields\, gardens\, nature trails\, and mill ponds.\nOn this walk\, we will photograph the living spaces of this historic sect’s wholly simple (and simply holy) lives. We will attempt to tell the story of the Shakers through what they left behind. This will include an emphasis on Composition and discussing Black & White\, architecture\, and close-up photography. Come photograph a fascinating historical lifestyle! Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend!

Make sure to register for the correct date!\nJoin professional photographer and SIGMA Ambassador Jack Fusco along with Hunt’s Photo Educator Emily Hojnowski for a special astrophotography workshop at Chocorua Lake in Central New Hampshire! This workshop will consist of two parts: A workshop in the field at Chocorua Lake and an online image review after the workshop. (We also have a pre-recorded session on Astrophotography that attendees can view prior to the workshop.)\nDuring the In-the-Field sessions\, Jack will lead a small group of photographers to a fantastic view of the night sky in Chocorua\, New Hampshire. While on location Jack will review techniques discussed during the lecture\, by putting them into practice.\nAfter the workshop\, we will regroup for an online critique session\, recorded if you cannot attend live.\nPlease note: This workshop was originally scheduled for April and rescheduled due to weather. It featured an online presentation An Introduction to Astrophotography . This recorded class can be viewed by anyone registered for the workshop. The goal of the introductory class is for you to leave with the knowledge and ability to shoot the stars on your own. In this session\, Jack will be guiding you through the basics of astrophotography all the way up to some advanced techniques. Jack will also review some basic astronomy information that will help you plan and capture images of the stars.\nWhat You Will Learn\n? We will meet on-location with time to scout and plan compositions.\n??Jack will share his personal approach to how he would plan an entire night to maximize his time shooting and ensure that he leaves with images he is excited about.\n? The night will begin chasing as many Milky Way compositions and shooting techniques as possible and end with time to shoot star trails.\nWhat You Should Bring\n??A DSLR or Mirrorless Camera with manual settings\n??A fast aperture lens (See below note about fabulous SIGMA glass)\n??Extra batteries (2 or more) and memory cards (64gb+)\n??A sturdy tripod\n??Shutter Release / Intervalometer\n??Red light equipped headlamp\, the red light will be less harsh on our eyes and help keep night vision intact!\n??Warm clothing – Dress in layers to help stay warm\n??Wear decent hiking shoes/boots to manage the terrain\n??Water/Snacks\nSIGMA LOANER GEAR!\nWe will also have a selection of SIGMA lenses for attendees to use during the location outings each night. These lenses are EXTREMELY useful\, as you will be able to utilize some of the best glass in ideal situations! Please note: If you are using Canon R or Nikon Z mounts\, make sure to bring an adapter.\nAbout Jack Fusco\nJack Fusco is a professional landscape astrophotographer / timelapser. What began as a way purely to document his travels as a touring musician\, photography has become his main form of creative expression.\nOn his often-sleepless journey\, he strives to share the wonder of the night sky with as many people as possible. Whether chasing the Milky Way along coast lines or capturing the Northern lights in unforgiving remote locations you?re sure to find him coffee in hand\, smiling up at the stars.\nMany of Jack?s images are often planned days\, weeks\, or even months in advance while waiting for weather and celestial objects to align. The resulting work shows a true and complete dedication to his craft.\nHis work has been featured by National Geographic\, TEDx\, LA Times\, NASA APOD\, BBC\, Forbes and many more.\nMore info on Jack can be found at his website\, Instagram\, Facebook\, and Twitter.\nWho should sign up?\nAnyone is welcome to attend this workshop\, but it is generally recommended that attendees have a general understanding of exposure\, aperture\, shutter speed\, and ISO for this workshop.\nRegarding inclement weather\nWe will do our very best to control the weather each night…or at least monitor the weather leading up to the event! If one night looks particularly improbable\, you may have the opportunity to shift to a surrounding night. Again\, we will monitor it leading up to the event.\nRegarding Lodging\nDue to the late finish\, you may consider staying in a local hotel. We do not have any agreements with local hotels\, but hotels in Tamworth\, Conway\, and North Conway are all relatively local.\nOne last note\nThere are two date options for the in-the-field portion of the workshop\, so please make sure to register for the correct day.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Boston From Above at The Prudential
DESCRIPTION:Join Ron Phillips for a unique photo walk photographing Boston from above! We will ascend the Prudential building in Boston and photograph the views of the city from above at the new Boston 360 sky view. On the walk\, we will discuss the many aspects of shooting from this perspective\, including the gear that is required\, both technical (camera\, lenses) and non-technical (how to block out light). Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nTripods are not necessary for the time of day we will be shooting. However\, we strongly encourage that you have a circular polarizing filter and a rubber lens hood\, such as this one. These simple items will help reduce glare in the glass. If you do not own them\, we recommend considering purchasing them at your local Hunt’s Photo.\n*Please note: The cost of entering the Prudential Boston 360 is NOT included in the cost of the class. You can purchase tickets in advance here! (We recommend purchasing tickets only a few days prior\, in case the weather for the day causes a postponement.)
