SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walks: Sports & Action- Hockey at St. Anselm College
DESCRIPTION:Join instructor Emily Hojnowski for a photo walk shooting live hockey action as our hosts\, the St. Anselm College Hawks will take on St. Michael’s College Purple Knights!  Thanks to our friends at St. Anselm\, we have been given permission to bring a small group to photograph this fast-paced\, intense matchup!\nWe will meet at the ticket booth at the Thomas F. Sullivan Ice Arena at 6:30 to go over settings\, get our cameras ready\, and get ourselves in position for the 7pm start time. The puck drops at 7pm and we will spend a few hours working on shooting action\, proper white balance\, panning action sequences\, auto-focus for action\, and subject development. Hockey is an exciting fast-paced sports full of excitement. We will capture the action!\n\nRecommended gear:  24-70 f2.8\, 70-200 f2.8\, or fast primes. Rubber lens hoods! Fast memory cards! Please note: Backpacks and outside food/drink are not allowed in the arena but there is a snack stand! \n\n\nRegarding Meeting Location- Entrance to the game is included in the cost of your ticket\, but we will be meeting OUTSIDE the rink.

DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we photograph the New Hampshire Ice Castles! Every year\, these formations are constructed across the US to offer a beautiful\, walkable glimpse into ice and snow. This will be a rewarding and challenging workshop working in the unique environment! Located in North Woodstock\, NH\, this winter wonderland will push your camera and creativity as we create unique abstracts and fine art images in the icy landscape!\nPlease note- In order to keep the walkways clear and safe\, tripods are not allowed. Instead\, we recommend bringing low aperture lenses\, such as a 24-70 f/2.8\, or primes such as 24/35/50mm.\nRegarding Tickets- The cost of your registration does NOT include entrance into the Ice Castles. Tickets are $20 during non-peak days and should be purchased on the ice castle website immediately after signing up for the walk.

DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Wednesday February 12th\, 7pm EST\nImage Review Tuesday February 25th\, 7pm EST \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education as we help grow your knowledge\, creativity\, and artistic expression with our expanded Personal Vision Series. These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the “Walk” portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “Warmth”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment. Your personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Winter at Olde Sturbridge Village
DESCRIPTION:Located an hour west of Boston\, Sturbridge Village is a proud replication of an 18th century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era.\nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. We will photograph both indoors and outdoors\, in regular light as well as very low light. We will discuss how to work with subjects to create a story\, and also work on settings to fine-tune focus and exposure! This Photo Walk is one of the best opportunities to build your photographic knowledge\, no matter what level. DESCRIPTION:Come see your photography through the eyes of a kid and transform your toys into life size photos!\nIn this dual macro/still life class\, we’ll spend our day creating a variety of still life set ups\, unique macro scenarios\, different lighting techniques\, compositions\, and how to tell a story when working with toys. We will cover exposure\, composition\, how to use macro lenses and extension tubes\, how to set up lighting\, how to use light modifiers and more! \nWe will be bringing lots of toys and other props to photograph for this workshop. However\, we find in our macro workshops that our attendees value shooting some things of their own as much if not more than what we bring. So\, while we will have those toys and props\, feel free to bring your own!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop: Lighting on Location in Lowell
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be showing how to light on location using natural light and supplemental light\, whether it’s flash or LED! We will utilize the natural environment of our location to work into our portraits\, and then\, when necessary\, use lights to make it something spectacular. This workshop is a great opportunity for both beginner and intermediate photographers\, as we’ll build examples of where to place subjects\, when to use lighting\, and what lighting we think works best for that environment. (Lighting will be provided!) \nOur workshop will take place at the Western Ave Studios in Lowell\, which has many unique indoor and outdoor elements that will work well for our portraits.\nFor gear\, we will be using both Westcott (FJ80\, FJ200\, FJ400) strobes/flashes as well as Westcott diffusers as well as a mix of Nanlite and Aputure LED lights\, all of which are excellent brands for creating stunning portraits.\nThis workshop will be co-taught by Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson and professional photographer Henry Marte. Both have extensive portrait experience and will take you through the full process\, from naturally lighting a subject\, to how to properly expose while using lighting\, to how to actually use the lights themselves!\nPhotographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. \nAbout Henry Marte\nHenry is a published photographer and credited filmmaker. He specializes in various forms of photography\, including portrait\, events\, headshots\, drone\, and commercial photography. Other than attending MassArt’s Documentary Film School\, he is almost entirely self taught. He runs a small media production studio called Marte Media\, based out of Western Avenue Studios in Lowell. Some of his clients include Spartan Race\, UMass Lowell\, Phillips Academy\, Navigation Brewing Company\, and more. Originally from NYC\, he now calls Lowell\, Massachusetts his home. He enjoys New York style pizza\, walks with a camera\, and hiking to active volcanoes.

DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a photo walk in one of Boston’s treasures: the Museum of Fine Arts. Boasting dozens of current exhibits and over 450\,000 pieces of art the MFA is one of the largest museums in the country and in the world. \nOur emphasis on this workshop will be in the vein of street photography\, as we turn our emphasis towards people within the museum. We will discuss how to do this in a candid and natural way! \nPlease note: This ticket does not cover the cost of your entrance into the museum.\nAlso… Because tripods and monopods are not allowed\, we will maximize quality in low-light situations. We will discuss how to do this and how to photograph the spaces and artwork within the museum. Please note: Rules and regulations pertaining to photography IN the MFA must be followed at all times.
