SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Chinatown and Downtown Crossing
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a photo walk at Downtown Crossing in Boston. Chinatown and Downtown Crossing (and areas in between) are two easily recognizable areas in downtown Boston. Boston’s Chinatown is quite small in size\, but has many unique sites and is the last remaining historic Chinese area in New England. Downtown Crossing is home to street vendors and a myriad number of shopping establishments with bright lights. Sandwiched in between is the Theater District of Boston. All three provide excellent opportunities to photograph the unique architecture and people of the area. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.

SUMMARY:Online: Personal Vision Series- Low Light
DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Tuesday January 7th\, 7pm EST\nImage Review Tuesday January 21st\, 7pm EST \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education as we help grow your knowledge\, creativity\, and artistic expression with our expanded Personal Vision Series. These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the “Walk” portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “Low Light”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment. Your personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. Join us for to help grow that voice!

SUMMARY:Macro- Nature Indoors! with Emilie Talpin- Hunt's Photo Waltham
DESCRIPTION:In this hands-on workshop\, OM SYSTEM ambassador Emilie Talpin and Hunt’s Photo Educator Emily Hojnowski (Emilie and Emily!) will immerse you in the world of macro photography.  They will give you a brief overview of what macro photography entails. Then\, we will learn to focus stack and bracket your shots to help you get better results. Throughout this workshop\, they will guide you and give you tips on sharpening your skills and improving your composition. We will play with light painting\, multiple exposures\, and art filters to help you push your creativity. You will be surrounded by macro opportunities\, from water drops to mushrooms\, and you will even be able to create your own macro scene if you wish. Come to learn and push your skills! \n  \n \nAbout Emilie\nEmilie Talpin is an OM SYSTEM ambassador who grew up in Chalon sur Sa?ne\, France\, the birthplace of Nic?phore Ni?pce and the first photograph. Despite this background\, she got into photography late and\, in 2018\, joined a local camera club where she met a group of talented photographers and was inspired to dive deeper into the art of capturing moments in time. She attributes part of her success as a photographer to switching from heavy and cumbersome gear to a camera system that is lighter and more versatile. She bought the OMD Em1 Mark II\, a wildlife and a macro lens\, and has never looked back. She is particularly interested in macro photography\, especially in the art of capturing water drop refraction.\nYou can read her articles: https://learnandsupport.getolympus.com/about-emilie-talpin\nContact\nInstagram: @emilietalpin ( https://www.instagram.com/emilietalpin/ )\nWebsite: https://emilietalpin.smugmug.com/ )\nYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsyFkE7rIxyID4-VRHcRXvg )

Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era.\nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop: Lighting on Location in Lowell
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be showing how to light on location using natural light and supplemental light\, whether it’s flash or LED! We will utilize the natural environment of our location to work into our portraits\, and then\, when necessary\, use lights to make it something spectacular. This workshop is a great opportunity for both beginner and intermediate photographers\, as we’ll build examples of where to place subjects\, when to use lighting\, and what lighting we think works best for that environment. (Lighting will be provided!) \nOur workshop will take place at the Western Ave Studios in Lowell\, which has many unique indoor and outdoor elements that will work well for our portraits.\nFor gear\, we will be using both Westcott (FJ80\, FJ200\, FJ400) strobes/flashes as well as Westcott diffusers as well as a mix of Nanlite and Aputure LED lights\, all of which are excellent brands for creating stunning portraits.\nThis workshop will be co-taught by Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson and professional photographer Henry Marte. Both have extensive portrait experience and will take you through the full process\, from naturally lighting a subject\, to how to properly expose while using lighting\, to how to actually use the lights themselves!\nPhotographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. \nAbout Henry Marte\nHenry is a published photographer and credited filmmaker. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “One Subject\, Four Ways”. It is a good practice for photographers to thoroughly explore their subjects.  Varying light\, time of day\, weather\, lens selection\, color and tones\, and mood all change the appearance of your subject.  Explore one subject and create perspectives of it. \nWe will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment. Your personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Focus Stacking- Hunt's Photo\, Manchester

These images can be created effortlessly\, but sometimes\, there may be a little more effort than you might think!\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Educator Emily Hojnowski for a workshop involving Focus Stacking–the process of combining multiple images\, each with a different focal point\, in order to create an image with far greater depth of field in which all (or most) of the image is in focus!\nOur workshop will begin with our Intro to Focus Stacking class (Monday\, March 3rd). Your registration to this workshop will INCLUDE that class.\nOn Saturday March 8th\, we will work hands-on in the classroom creating focus stacks. We will provide feedback\, then give an assignment to create ANOTHER focus stack on your own before our image review session\, date and time TBD!\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to workshop this process from start to finish\, and receive feedback along the way!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Nifty Fifty Workshop: Storytelling and Street Photography in the North End
DESCRIPTION:About the Nifty Fifty Workshops\nEvery photographer at one point or another has the internal struggle before going to photograph: What lenses should I bring with me today? The common answer is as many as I can without being too uncomfortable. And so we pack up our wide\, standard\, telephoto\, prime\, and macro lenses and head out into the field\, forcing ourselves to endure limitless choices while sacrificing simplicity.\nOur Nifty Fifty workshops flip the script and force you to only carry one lens: A 50mm lens\, nostalgically referred to as a “nifty fifty”. With limitations\, what can you– the photographer\, the creator\, the artist– achieve? \nWalk Description\nFor this workshop\, we will be photographing in one of Boston’s most notable neighborhoods\, and its oldest: The North End. This walk will emphasize telling a story through composition as we workshop street and candid photography! We will discuss managing ISO and shutter speed in low-light conditions to never miss a shot\, as well as the art of blending in and going unnoticed. (And no tripods!) We will also try to get it all right in camera! While you are welcome to shoot in RAW\, we’ll also discuss the joy of shooting for the end result in JPEG! \nOur mission is to use a small handful of our images from the day to capture the essence of the North End neighborhood. \nJoin us for a fun workshop! \n  \n*Question: Are other prime lenses acceptable? Olympus/Panasonic users may use a 25mm lens\, since it gives the same look as a 50mm and other primes can be used as an alternative\, but we ask that you try to keep it at one prime in as close to that range as possible. Remember- this is a “nifty fifty” workshop\, not a “mighty ninety” workshop. (And does that even really rhyme?)

He specializes in various forms of photography\, including portrait\, events\, headshots\, drone\, and commercial photography. Other than attending MassArt’s Documentary Film School\, he is almost entirely self taught. He runs a small media production studio called Marte Media\, based out of Western Avenue Studios in Lowell. Some of his clients include Spartan Race\, UMass Lowell\, Phillips Academy\, Navigation Brewing Company\, and more. Originally from NYC\, he now calls Lowell\, Massachusetts his home. He enjoys New York style pizza\, walks with a camera\, and hiking to active volcanoes.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation
DESCRIPTION:The Charles River Museum of Industry is currently housed in what is considered the first ever factory in America. In Waltham\, the closed factory now plays the role of housing a history of the tools and machinery used in industry. This walk is an excellent chance to photograph the grit of the previous centuries under the Industrial Revolution\, and is a chance to work in low-light environments where the lighting sources cannot be controlled and focus on macro photography. Join us for a wonderful experience!
