DESCRIPTION:This event is sponsored by Canon!\nHunt’s Photo Education proudly presents our second Wedding Photography Workshop! The centerpiece of this workshop will be a full-day\, hands-on\, stylized/mock wedding shoot at the beautiful Olio industrial wedding venue in Peabody\, MA. Photographers will be led by Hunt’s Photo Educator Rebecca Cee\, a local wedding photographer who has photographed well over 100 weddings\, along with wedding photographer Tessa Klingensmith. Rebecca and Tessa have a combined experience of over ten years photographing weddings. Attendees will learn everything from the proper equipment and technical skills to navigate a wedding day successfully. In addition\, photographers will learn the importance of client communication\, marketing strategy\, and the back end of running a wedding photography business.\nAnyone that registers for this workshop will also be able to attend our 2-part online Wedding Photography class sessions for no additional charge! These classes will not only provide a substantial background for our workshop\, but also help build more of an understanding of what goes into each wedding! \nFinally\, all attendees will be able to submit a handful of their final\, edited images to Rebecca for individualized image reviews. \nWhat is included: \nWedding Workshop Day Shoot includes: \n• Two REAL couples (not models) in full wedding-day dress\, hair\, and makeup \n• Dynamic Posing Instruction \n• Decorated industrial chic venue at Olio in Peabody. It has an industrial feel\, with concrete walls and massive ceilings\, but it retains the warm\, wooden charm of an early-20th century vaudeville theater from which the space originates. DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, come work with macro photography! If you’re just starting out\, learn some of the basics like aperture\, shutter speed\, focus\, exposure\, and composition!  If you have a little bit of experience\, you’ll have the chance to learn more advanced techniques\, such as lighting\, building set-ups\, story telling\, and fine-tuning exposure and composition. We’ll also cover how to use macro lenses and extension tubes and more!\nWe will be bringing lots of props to photograph\, including flowers\, toys\, trinkets\, and more. However\, we find in our macro workshops that our attendees value shooting some things of their own as much if not more than what we bring. SUMMARY:Hunt's May the Fourth Portrait Workshop- Star Wars Cosplay! (Hunt's Photo\, Waltham)
DESCRIPTION:Fear is the path to the dark side\, but good lighting and a fun photo shoot are the paths to successful images! Join Star Wars fanboy (and photography instructor) Paul Nelson as we photograph Star Wars cosplayers for this fun and unique photo workshop. \nWe will start with a brief introduction on how to position lights to create mood and a “cinematic look”\, as well as the difference between using LED and strobe lighting. We will then dive in to photograph our cosplayers with the emphasis on creating a dramatic look. We will utilize our spacious\, new Hunt’s Photo Waltham classroom as well as locations in the surrounding area. We’ll discuss how to light and what to use\, create shadows and textures\, use studio space and real-life locations\, work with models and more!\nIn this workshop\, we will cover:\n• How to compose the lighting in a scene\, including how and when to use flash vs LED\n• Flash and LED lighting (important enough to write it on here twice)\n• Using lighting indoor or outside\n• Creating dynamic shadows and effects in your work with lighting\, as well as other light modification\n• How to work with (posing and directing) models to achieve a desired look\n• Developing a creative concept in portraits\, not only using lighting and posing\, but also costumes (and if applicable\, hair and make-up)\nYou do not need to own a flash or lighting to attend this workshop. DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Educator and Professional Wedding and Portrait Photographer Rebecca Cee for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be emphasizing posing couples!\nThis class is designed for photographers who want to learn how to pose couples\, and put their subjects at ease. Rebecca teaches modern techniques for posing couples: Rather than static posing\, she will emphasize how to work with movement and casual posing to create a more natural look!\nFor this workshop\, we will be photographing outside in natural light at the Arnold Arboretum in Boston. If you’d like to learn a little bit about when to use flash\, we are also happy to teach that in the workshop\, but the focus will primarily be on shooting in natural light. We will spend the bulk of the day photographing couples and discussing different settings\, starting in the mid-afternoon and working into the golden hour.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Steam Punk in Waltham!
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a workshop where we will work specifically on environmental portraiture in a street photography setting with the most outrageous (and awesome) subjects- Steampunk! \nFounded in 2011\, the Waltham Steampunk Festival is the oldest outdoor Steampunk Festival in the country. Steampunk is an aesthetic and fashion that often mixes old-fashioned design (ex. Victorian/19th century era) with futuristic technology\, or at least futuristic from the design’s standpoint. Colorful personalities\, eccentric clothing\, boisterous jewelry\, and clever gadgetry are just some of the elements to expect from this fun day! During the annual festival\, attendees and vendors gather to show off their unique outfits and inventions.  It is a spectacular event for photographers to experience and photograph. \nOn this workshop\, we will photograph at the festival for the majority of the day\, meeting at 9:30am (prior to the start) until the end of the festival at 5pm. (If you cannot attend for the entirety\, that’s OK\, but we will be in attendance for the day!) We will work on storytelling\, environmental portraits\, and more! \nWe will then reconvene on May 20th for an image review\, where we will discuss what attendees captured and the editing process. \nAs a final note\, please consider that this event is a rain or shine event\, so we will (hopefully) be attending\, rain or shine. \nJoin us for this unique and special photo workshop!

DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Monday May 13th\, 7pm EST\nImage Review Monday May 27th\, 7pm EST \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education as we help grow your knowledge\, creativity\, and artistic expression with our expanded Personal Vision Series. These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the “Walk” portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “A 4-Picture Story”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment. Your personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. DESCRIPTION:A few times a year\, the town of Brimfield\, Massachusetts hosts a sprawling\, unique fair and flea market that features antiques\, antiquities\, and charismatic vendors.  The event– spread throughout the town– is a smorgasbord of color\, tone\, detail\, people\, and interesting objects for photographers of all skill sets to explore creatively.  Join us for an afternoon of fun and interest in Brimfield at America’s oldest outdoor flea market! \nOn this workshop\, we will photograph at the market for the majority of the day\, meeting at 9:30am (prior to the start) until the end of the festival at 5pm. (If you cannot attend for the entirety\, that’s OK\, but we will be in attendance for the day!) SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Revolutionary War Encampment at Strawberry Banke with Image Review
DESCRIPTION:In April of 1775\, organized militia from the American Colonies\, subjects of the British Crown\, stood firm against a far superior British Army that descended upon Lexington and Concord in an attempt to capture leaders of the growing revolt taking place in the colonies.  On the village green in Lexington “the shot heard ‘round the world” was fired and touched off the American Revolution.  Today\, dedicated re-enactors keep the history of that moment alive in various reenactments such as realistic encampments full of people\, color\, tone\, and detail.  Join us for a creative journey back in time! \nOn this workshop\, we will photograph at the encampment for the morning and early afternoon\, meeting at 9:30am (prior to the start) until 1 or 2pm. We will emphasize creating portraits using available light through subject placement and composition through the aid of diffusers and reflectors. We will then separately demonstrate reasons to add in flash.\nHunt’s Photo Educator (and strobe specialist) Paul Nelson will take you through the process of how to understand the full process\, from naturally lighting a subject\, to how to properly expose while using strobes\, to how to actually use the strobes themselves!\nWe will begin photographing late afternoon in the sunlight (and shade) and work until just before sunset at the beautiful Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover. We will have a opportunity to take some wonderful portraits in a beautiful\, green environment\, excellent practice for senior portraits\, engagement sessions and more! For gear\, we will have the ability to use both Westcott (FJ80\, FJ200\, FJ400) or Godox (AD200) strobes/flashes as well as Westcott diffusers\, both of which are excellent brands for creating stunning portraits. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Filter Workshop: Using Filters in the Field with Waterfalls
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning of learning what filters we want to use in photography\, how to use them\, and then go out into the field to get some hands-on practice!\nWe will begin in our Hunt’s Photo Manchester classroom to learn about filters\, how to use them properly\, how to attach them to the camera\, and\, if applicable\, purchase filters. We will then travel a short distance to a NEW location (about 20-25 minutes away) to our waterfall location to practice long exposures. (Please note: Our location is TBA. To minimize confusion\, we will let you know in the reminder email a few days prior to the event.)  UV\, Circular Polarizer (CPL)\, and Neutral Density (ND) filters are all recommended. Students may choose to shoot from the banks of the river\, but the best shots will happen by walking along some rocks. Waterproof boots are your friend!\nWhether you’ve used filters and still have questions\, you’ve never used filters\, or you need a little inspiration\, this is a great opportunity to have some fun with filters!

DESCRIPTION:Join Emily Hojnowski\, Lead Educator and Frank Lloyd Wright fan girl\, for a morning of architecture and art! We’ll begin the day at the Currier Museum of Art where we will be given a private tour of the two Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Manchester\, NH–the Zimmerman House and the Kalil House–both built in the 1950s and recently acquired by the Currier Museum. We will spend approximately two hours on our tours and have enthusiastic and knowledgeable docents to give us all the inside scoop on the homes. After our tour\, we will spend our remaining time exploring the Currier Museum\, independently working on refining compositional techniques. SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop: Urban Portraits with Natural Light (or Flash!)
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be utilizing the natural\, urban environment to work into our portraits. Brick buildings and cityscapes will all work into our compositions as we create a more working class feel in our portraits–a very unique look. To a certain extent\, these will be environmental portraits where the environment plays a role in creating the scene. Utilizing your environment in photographs is key to creating a fun portrait shoot! We will emphasize creating these portraits using available light through subject placement and composition with the aid of diffusers and reflectors. We will then separately demonstrate reasons to add in flash.\nWe will begin photographing late afternoon in the sunlight (and shade) and work to sunset in the picturesque brick of downtown Lowell. We will be using both Westcott (FJ80\, FJ200\, FJ400) and Godox (AD200) strobes/flashes as well as Westcott diffusers\, both of which are excellent brands for creating stunning portraits.\nThis workshop will be co-taught by Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson and professional photographer Henry Marte. Both have extensive portrait experience and will take you through the full process\, from naturally lighting a subject\, to how to properly expose while using strobes\, to how to actually use the strobes themselves!\nPhotographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. \nAbout Henry Marte\nHenry is a published photographer and credited filmmaker. He specializes in various forms of photography\, including portrait\, events\, headshots\, drone\, and commercial photography. Other than attending MassArt’s Documentary Film School\, he is almost entirely self taught. He runs a small media production studio called Marte Media\, based out of Western Avenue Studios in Lowell. Some of his clients include Spartan Race\, UMass Lowell\, Phillips Academy\, Navigation Brewing Company\, and more. Originally from NYC\, he now calls Lowell\, Massachusetts his home. He enjoys New York style pizza\, walks with a camera\, and hiking to active volcanoes.

DESCRIPTION:Old Orchard Beach is a premiere location along the coast of Maine for photography. A 7-mile stretch of land\, there are many unique and picturesque locations along the coast\, as well as wonderful seaside shops. Join Hunt’s Photo Education on a late afternoon/sunset walk of Old Orchard Beach where our emphasis will be creating long exposure images of the shoreline and more! On the walk\, we will discuss numerous aspects involving sunset\, including exposure\, composition\, and how to capture the vibrancy of the scene during sunset. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.
