SUMMARY:Flash! Creative Portraits with Speedlights- Hunt's Photo\, Melrose
DESCRIPTION:Speedlights are a powerful tool with such great possibilities that you can use on and off the camera. Unfortunately\, they can be a finicky tool\, difficult to understand.\nBut they don’t need to be! With a little bit of know-how\, you can create excellent portraits ANYWHERE using your speedlight!\nIn this Creating Portraits with Speedlights Session\, we’ll discuss\, demonstrate\, and then practice with models how to set up a great portrait anywhere using the simplest of tools and methods. In this workshop\, we will specifically be working with speedlights/flash off the camera using triggers.\nMost importantly\, attendees will be guiding the setup (and take down) of all the gear. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own gear\, but we will begin with gear that anyone can use\, including:\n-A Variety of brands of Speedlights\n-Off-Camera Triggers\n-Lightmeters\n-Softboxes\, Reflectors\, and other Diffusers\nLayout of the day:\n9am- Introductions\, brief presentation/discussion on exposure & speedlights\, camera setup\n10am- Begin creating setups\n11-3pm- Photographing with models. We will have about 3 hours in three setups.\n2pm- Takeaways from the day

DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education’s Emily Hojnowski for another entry in our Food Photography Workshops. In our hands-on workshops\, we cover all aspects of food photography: exposure\, composition\, styling\, working with food\, lighting\, props\, and more.  In this workshop– On Site with Mexican Dishes!– we will specifically be working with…you guessed it! The Painted Burro in Waltham will be our classroom for the day\, as we cover the basics for beginners and add challenges for more advanced food photographers.\nGear! This event is sponsored in part by SIGMA. They will have lenses on hand that you can use for the workshop for no additional cost!\nPlease Note: To minimize on gear and space\, we will be working in groups of two. This will work to everyone’s advantage\, as one person at a time will be the photographer and one person will help with lighting and styling.\nRegarding Food\, Drinks\, and Props: All food and drink will be provided for this workshop. We will also provide lighting\, diffusers\, and all other applicable gear in order to photograph. Photographers are welcome to bring their own additional props.

SUMMARY:Creative Concept Workshop: Food Drops (and Floating Objects!)
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Educators Ron Phillips and Paul Nelson for a unique\, informative\, and fun workshop! Drop some food\, take some pictures\, and have some fun!\nPhotography often starts with an idea\, but sometimes those ideas require post-processing to make them a reality. ?I want to capture food in mid-air falling onto a plate.? You know it can be done\, but how can we do it? Ultimately\, this is achieved through the combination of good lighting\, a good setup and technique\, and finally\, multiple exposures combined in post-processing. And while it sounds difficult\, our goal in this workshop will be to break it all down and use simple techniques to get an amazing finished product!\nWe’ll begin with the concept\, pictured above. Working in groups of two\, we will put together the lighting for the scene and set up the composition. Then we will photograph and work on technique and execution. Once we have successful images\, we will then dive into post-processing using Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop\, combining exposures to make an amazing end result.\nA note on editing requirements: For best results\, attendees should bring a laptop with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop installed (and updated). You do not need to be an expert\, but you should have some familiarity with Lightroom and Photoshop.
