SUMMARY:Developing Color Film- Hunt's Photo Waltham
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we discuss all the key elements of loading and developing film\, and get you to develop a roll on your own! In this workshop\, we will show you how to load film into a developing tank\, discuss the elements of the chemistry involved\, and other various aspects. Because of the many variables\, we will only be using one specific type of developer\, but we will discuss the possibilities of other developers available and their advantages. \nPlease note: This class caters to color/C-41 type film developing only! We will also have a black and white film developing class. All film classes can be found here. \nWe will provide tanks\, reels\, chemistry\, and basically anything that you need to develop your film. All you will need to have is a roll of film to develop. \nWe will also include a free scan of your film after it has been processed! Since your film will be wet at the end of the session\, you will leave it to dry so it can be scanned. The digital scans will be sent directly to your email address. If you would like the negatives to be shipped to another store for pickup\, we can gladly do that!

To learn how to do that\, check out our Lightroom File Management and Editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic Sessions! \nAdobe Lightroom is an ever-changing and ever-expanding program. As such\, it can be hard to keep up with many of the changes in the program that make processing your images easier\, more efficient\, and with better adjustment capabilities! \nAfter taking the basic “Editing in Lightroom Classic” sessions\, our “Intermediate Editing in Lightroom Classic” is the obvious next step. In this course we will reinforce what we learned in the basic class\, but pepper in more advanced capabilities\, including newer editing capabilities. Specifically\, we will cover: \n\nAI Masking and Advanced Masking Techniques\n\nSky\, Subject\, and Background Masking\nObject Masking\nAdding into Existing Masking\nColor/Luminance Range Masking\n\n\nDistraction Removal\nDenoise and Super Resolution\n\nProfiles\n\n\nRGB Tone Curve\n\nPerspective Correction\n\nAnd more! \nThis is a 2-Part class. There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now.This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as “Adobe Lightroom CC” (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. DESCRIPTION:After learning “the basics” of digital photography\, become more comfortable in the world of digital photography by taking the next step.\nLearning about photography can be a real challenge! For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the “Priority Modes” (Ex. Aperture Priority) because it’s “easier”. In reality\, these priority modes are just one solution. For some photographers\, there is only the manual mode. But why is it important to shoot in the Manual mode? Are there reasons to use manual vs. Aperture priority and vice-versa? How can we maximize usability?\nIn this class\, we will cover:\n• Your Camera’s Light Meter and how it works\n• Use of Aperture Priority vs. Manual modes\n• Histograms\n• Photographing in RAW vs. Jpeg\nUnderstanding the full-functionality of your camera is a necessity to improving your flexibility when photographing in a variety of situations. This course is designed to help you feel more comfortable about how to change your camera’s settings in those situations. It is recommended as a follow-up to our Beginner Photography course.

Through hands-on exercises\, we’ll explore how to use color theory\, light and shadow\, and compositional techniques to enhance storytelling and create photographs with mood and impact. By the end of the class\, you’ll feel more confident in making creative choices that give your images their own distinct look and feel. \nTaking our Beginner Photography OR Digital Photo Basics 1 and 2 classes (or equivalent experience) is recommended prior to this course.

For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the “Priority Modes” (Ex. Aperture Priority) because it’s “easier”. In reality\, these priority modes are just one solution. For some photographers\, there is only the manual mode. But why is it important to shoot in the Manual mode? Are there reasons to use manual vs. Aperture priority and vice-versa? How can we maximize usability?\nIn this class\, we will cover:\n• Your Camera’s Light Meter and how it works\n• Use of Aperture Priority vs. Manual modes\n• Histograms\n• Photographing in RAW vs. Jpeg\nUnderstanding the full-functionality of your camera is a necessity to improving your flexibility when photographing in a variety of situations. This course is designed to help you feel more comfortable about how to change your camera’s settings in those situations. It is recommended as a follow-up to our Beginner Photography course.

There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now.This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. To learn how to do that\, check out our Lightroom File Management courses. \nThis is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! In Week 1\, we’ll start with the basic adjustments using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. We’ll then dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. In Week 2\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including local adjustments\, such as radial and graduated filters\, and how to “finish” the image- sharpening\, noise reduction\, and more.\nIn-between each session\, we will give assignments to help you become more proficient and grasp the material! This class is strongly recommended for anyone looking to further their skills with Lightroom! \n \nAn important note about this course! There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now.This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as “Adobe Lightroom CC” (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. The look and feel of the program is completely different– This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. (See graphic on the right.) Important: If you are taking this course\, make sure to download/update the program in advance\, as you will not be able to download the program at the store. We’ll explore how creative choices influence mood\, energy\, and emotion—helping you capture not just what a subject looks like\, but what it feels like. \nIn Intermediate Photography – Getting the Look\, we’ll go beyond exposure and focus on crafting photographs with intention. Through hands-on exercises\, we’ll explore how to use color theory\, light and shadow\, and compositional techniques to enhance storytelling and create photographs with mood and impact. By the end of the class\, you’ll feel more confident in making creative choices that give your images their own distinct look and feel. \nTaking our Beginner Photography OR Digital Photo Basics 1 and 2 classes (or equivalent experience) is recommended prior to this course.

In every session we’ll have a brief introduction to a topic followed by a fun practical exercise. Our goal is to get your photographers taking pictures as much as possible! At the end of each session\, we’ll look back on the images to see what we liked about them. \nOur goal in this program is to have a lot of fun and not bog students down with too much technical stuff. However\, we will also scaffold instruction\, so if an attendee wants to know more about the technical aspects\, they still can! Please note: This course is geared towards students aged 11-16 years old. Our age requirement is general and a certain maturity level is helpful.  Younger students with interest and a level of responsibility are welcome to attend. \nStudents will be required to have some kind of camera.
