SUMMARY:Online: The Printed Vision- Comparing Paper Surfaces
DESCRIPTION:Presentation: Thursday October 5th\, 6-7pm ? Online! \nPrinted Image Review: Thursday October 12th\, 6-8pm ? In our Hunt’s Melrose store or Online! \nAbout The Printed Vision Series\nThe printed image shows our successes and our faults at a much higher level of detail than the digital image. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product\, which is the purpose behind the Printed Vision Series.\nEach Printed Vision topic will meet for two sessions. In the first session\, we will discuss the topic and elaborate on editing with examples. This will include discussion of exposure\, dynamic range and color\, but also deeper points\, such as noise reduction\, image sharpening and grain. In between sessions 1 and 2\, attendees will independently process 1-2 images and submit them to the instructor for printing. We will print one of the two images leading into the second session and discuss some of the challenges we face in printing them.\nYou do not need to produce a new image for this class and can go into your archives to print\, but you are welcome to go out into the field and create something new based on the topic!\nThis Month’s Printed Vision Session: Comparing Paper Surfaces\nWhat does it look like on Matte Paper? What does it look like on Glossy Paper? Why would I print it on one versus the other? What does the paper bring to my image?\nIn this class\, we will help discuss the answers to these questions. In our instructional online presentation\, we’ll discuss some of the key differences between paper surfaces and present a variety of options for you to have your image printed. Then\, we will literally print the image two times so we can see the difference\, getting to the root of the answers.\nIn the end\, you will receive TWO prints of your edited image up to 13×19″ in size. (Please note: The cost of a 12×18 or 13×19 print on fine art paper is $35-$40; the cost of this class includes the cost of those prints!)\nReceiving Your Print\nAfter the class\, your print can either be mailed to you or picked up at one of our Hunt’s Photo store locations.\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 24 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\n?You Are Being Recorded? (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don?t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time.
