DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description\nOne of Canada?s most historic and picturesque destinations is located just north of New England in the province of Quebec. Old Qu?bec City sits along the Saint Lawrence River where it retains much of its old world charm. Fortifications\, narrow streets\, colorful buildings\, and dramatic attractions such as the famous Ch?teau Frontenac Hotel\, Citadelle of Qu?bec\, and the Petit Champlain makes Old Quebec City a fantastic destination for all photographers.\nYour passport is required for this workshop.\nOur hotel\, the?Hotel Manoir Victoria\, built in 1830 is a grand old Victorian hotel (4 Star rated) in the heart of Quebec!\nWe will maximize our time in the field shooting a multitude of subjects as well as incorporating classroom instruction and critiques.\nWhat?s included:\n?Daily excursions in old Quebec\n?In-field instruction at each location\n?Image Discussion and Review\nWhat?s?not?included:\n?Transportation to and from Quebec City\n?Cost of food\n?Cost of hotel (Hotel Manoir Victoria\, 44 Cote du Palais\, Quebec City\, 418-692-1030)\nSkill Sets: All Levels of Photographers are Welcome\nPhysical Activity: Low. DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Wed July 27th\, 7pm EST\nImage Review Wed August 10th\, 7pm EST\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education as we help grow your knowledge\, creativity\, and artistic expression with our expanded Personal Vision Series. These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the ?Walk? portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month?s topic is In Your House By Window Light. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment.\nYour personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. Online!\nAbout the Nifty Fifty Workshops\nEvery photographer at one point or another has the internal struggle before going to photograph: What lenses should I bring with me today? The common answer is as many as I can without being too uncomfortable. And so we pack up our wide\, standard\, telephoto\, prime\, and macro lenses and head out into the field\, forcing ourselves to endure limitless choices while sacrificing simplicity.\nOur Nifty Fifty workshops flip the script and force you to only carry one lens: A 50mm lens\, nostalgically referred to as a ?nifty fifty?. With limitations\, what can you? the photographer\, the creator\, the artist? achieve?\nThese workshops will start with our basic photo walk\, where we will meet in the field and work with only a 50mm lens in a specific location. Attendees will then submit a handful of images for an online image review\, to be held a few days later. During that image review\, we will be able to see others? work\, discuss how to achieve different effects\, and consider editing choices. This is an excellent workshop for all photographers?from Beginner to Advanced?because it forces you to work in a different way.\nWorkshop Description\nLocated an hour west of Boston\, Sturbridge Village is a proud replication of an 18th century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era.\nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. On this workshop\, we will photograph both indoors and outdoors\, in regular light as well as very low light. We will focus our energies and use only a 50mm lens to create our photographs\, which will be both limiting and expressive!\nAfter the workshop\, attendees will have the opportunity to review their images and make some edits. SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop: Portraits with Natural Light (or Flash!) at the Arnold Arboretum
DESCRIPTION:Workshop: Saturday August 20th\, 3:30-7pm\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be working in natural light and flash! We will emphasize creating portraits using available light through subject placement and composition through the aid of diffusers and reflectors. We will then separately demonstrate reasons to add in flash.\nWe will begin photographing late afternoon in the sunlight (and shade) and work to sunset. You are welcome to bring your own flashes and light modifiers (soft boxes\, etc)\, but you also can use what we have with us as well. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nA new(ish) location! We will be holding this workshop at the Arnold Arboretum in Boston. This wonderful location has terrific greenery and well-manicured lawns\, perfect for any portrait session!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Wiscasset Railroad and WWI Reenactment
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a unique workshop at the Wiscasset\, Waterville\, and Farmington Railway in Alna\, Maine. On the workshop\, we will photograph around the train yard of steam locomotives running\, and also be present for (and photograph) a World War 1 Re-Enactment Encampment full of soldiers in period uniforms and attire.\nThe Wiscasset\, Waterville\, and Farmington Railway was developed in the late-1800s for a planned (but never realized) line to Quebec. The line\, which never made it to Waterville or Farmington\, was abandoned in the 1930s. The WW&F Railway Museum was developed over a shorter portion of the track and contains a fully restored and operational steam train and (occasionally) hosts reenactments.
