These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the “Walk” portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “Celebrating Summer in Color”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment. Your personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. SUMMARY:The Hunt's Photo Education Weekend Workshops 2024
DESCRIPTION:Hunt’s Photo Education Presents…The Weekend Workshop: A long weekend conference featuring the Hunt’s Photo Education Team! The weekend will feature education seminars\, photo walks and workshops\, image reviews\, editing and file management\, and fine art printing. Our walks and workshops will feature a variety of (mostly) new options\, including macro photography and focus stacking\, portraits and lighting\, light painting and long exposure\, and black & white photography. \nDuring the weekend\, each attendee will have the opportunity to attend five Photo Walks/Workshops. We will have an introductory Photo Walk on the first evening that everyone will be able to attend. On days 2 and 3\, our instructors will conduct one Photo Walk in the morning and one Photo Walk in the evening. They will repeat the same schedule on Friday and Saturday. (So\, if you attend a Photo Walk with Instructor A on Friday morning\, you’ll have the ability to attend a different Photo Walk with Instructor B on Saturday morning.)\nDuring the middle part of Friday and Saturday\, we will have image reviews\, file management sessions\, and printing sessions. You are welcome to attend these\, or you can take a break\, if needed! We will also have lead-in online presentations during the week\, which you can attend for no additional charge. \nThis year will be centered out of our BRAND NEW Hunt’s Photo Waltham store location. Our Waltham store has two large classroom areas which will be excellent for our editing and review sessions\, as well as some of our hands-on workshops for the weekend! For planning purposes\, be aware that many of our walks and workshops will be taking place within the vicinity of Waltham/Newton and the surrounding areas. \nJoin us for a fantastic weekend of photo fun! \n  \nPlease Note: We are currently finalizing our Photo Walk/Workshop Schedule. Prior to June 1st\, we will send out a sign-up notification to those registered to put their first\, second\, third\, and fourth option preferences for registration. At that time\, we will put everyone into their respective walk/workshop times. (We will do our best to accommodate everyone!)  \nPlease Also Note… As we are finalizing this workshop\, some of the details are subject to change. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: The Bold Coast of Maine\, Lubec
DESCRIPTION:Tucked into the far northeast corner of Maine is the fishing village of Lubec. Once a thriving fishing community\, Lubec is now a quiet coastal town surrounded by the remnants of their fishing legacy and the rugged\, sprawling Bold Coast. Lubec features West Quoddy Head Lighthouse\, rustic fishing harbors\, and many photographic opportunities along the coast. If weather allows\, we will spend TWO days observing and photographing the rare Atlantic Puffin offshore on nearby Machias Seal Island. \nYour passport will be required on this workshop in order to go onto Campobello Island in New Brunswick\, Canada\, if conditions allow. \nWe will maximize our time in the field shooting a multitude of subjects as well as incorporating classroom instruction\, critiques\, and photographic assignments each day. \nWhat’s included:\n•Daily excursions in and around Lubec\n•If weather allows\, two boat trips to Machias Seal Island to photograph Puffins- only 15 Americans are allowed on the island per day!\n•In-field instruction at each location\n•Image Discussion and Review \nWhat’s not included:\n•Transportation to and from Lubec\, Maine\n•Cost of food\n•Cost of hotel (Inn on the Wharf\, 69 Johnson St\, Lubec ME\, 207-733-4400) \nSkill Sets: All Levels of Photographers are Welcome\nPhysical Activity: Low to Medium. We will have long days with sunrises and sunsets as well as a lot of walking. \nIn this workshop we will cover: \nExposure\nComposition\nMetering\nUse of Lenses\nUse of Light Modifiers\nSubject Development\nCreative Thinking\nShooting in Low Light\nLong Exposures\nUse of Filters (polarizers and ND)\nImage Processing\nImage Review\nImage Critiquing \nThe cost of this trip does not include the cost of lodging\, transportation to and from Lubec\, or meals during the trip. \nRecommended gear:\nCamera\, memory cards\, batteries\nWide angle\, standard\, macro and telephoto lenses (If you are looking for a lens to rent\, you can rent it from us at rentals.huntsphoto.com!)\nTripod\nCable release\nPolarizers and Neutral Density filters if you have them \nTravel information\nWe will be meeting at the hotel at 3pm on the first day of the workshop. Transportation to and from Lubec\, Maine and the hotel (including flights) is not included\, but all on-site transportation once at the hotel is included. \nHotel information\nWe will be staying at the Inn on the Wharf\, 69 Johnson St\, Lubec ME\, 207-733-4400.
