SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Spring in Solon\, Maine
DESCRIPTION:Spring in the woods of Maine is an exciting time for creativity. Each May\, the woods come alive with new growth that will inspire any photographer. Colorful wildflowers\, blooming trees\, streams\, waterfalls\, the night sky\, and local culture all make for fantastic photo opportunities as we explore\, learn\, and create in and around the rural town of Solon\, Maine. \nSolon\, Maine will host this Adventure: a four-day workshop featuring hands-on instruction during daily field trips\, in-depth classroom discussion\, and professional guidance from Hunt’s Photo’s Director of Photo Adventures Don Toothaker in a rustic\, relaxed atmosphere.\nSolon is a small town at the edge of some of Maine’s premier wilderness areas. Once home to a vibrant farming and logging industry\, Solon is now a quiet village that caters to outdoorsman and eco-tourism year round. Daily field trips will provide everyone with a variety of subjects that showcase the beauty and diversity of the region. \nSkill Sets: All Levels of Photographers are Welcome\nPhysical Activity: Medium. The longest hike we will go on will be 1/2 mile\, round trip\, and there will be some slightly tricky terrain\, but this will be minimal. \nDuring this Workshop We will Cover: \n• Exposure\n• Composition\n• Metering\n• Use of Lenses\n• Use of Light Modifiers\n• Subject Development\n• Creative Thinking\n• Shooting in Low Light\n• Long Exposures\n• Use of Filters (polarizers and ND)\n• Image Processing\, Review and Critiquing \nWhat’s included:\n• Daily excursions in and around locations in Solon\n• In-field instruction at each location\n• Image Discussion and Review \nWhat’s not included:\n• Transportation to and from Solon\, Maine \n• Cost of lodging\n• Cost of meals \nLodging is not included in the cost of this Adventure. We will be staying at the Towne Motel in Skowhegan (207) 474-5151. \nRecommended gear:\nCamera\, memory cards\, batteries\nWide angle\, standard\, and telephoto lenses (If you are looking for a lens to rent\, you can rent it from us at rentals.huntsphoto.com!)\nTripod\nCable release\nPolarizers and Neutral Density filters if you have them \nTravel information\nThis workshop will begin at about 2:30pm on the first day and conclude at about 11am on the final day listed. \nHotel information\nWe will be staying at the Towne Motel in Skowhegan\, Maine- 207-474-5151. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: A Day on Assignment- Olde Sturbridge Village
DESCRIPTION:Located an hour west of Boston\, Sturbridge Village is a proud replication of an 18th century New England town. Sturbridge Village is a living history museum that features many authentic period buildings and homes to explore and enjoy. The village is also inhabited by re-enactors who provide colorful insight to life in New England during the 18th century. Sturbridge Village is a wonderful destination for a multitude of photographic opportunities as well as a glimpse into a bygone era.\nOlde Sturbridge Village is perhaps one of the best places to have both a Photo Walk and a class. There’s a little bit of everything at this living history museum\, from macro and closeup with fine details to architecture\, from portraits to landscapes. On this workshop\, we will work for the day around a central assignment at Olde Sturbridge Village. In the end\, you should have a collection of images that support that central theme. DESCRIPTION:When composing photographs\, we often have an opportunity to include reflections as a key component of the scene.  These reflections\, while summarized as merely looking good or interesting to many\, serve a far more meaningful purpose than aesthetics.  Commonly found in water\, windows\, and other reflective surfaces such as metal or wet pavement\, reflections add depth\, symmetry\, and impact to your photographs.  During this presentation\, Hunt’s Photo’s Director of Photo Adventures Don Toothaker will discuss and show various examples of how reflections add value to your photographs.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop with the Wayward Witches
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be photographing a coven of witches! We will utilize the natural outdoor environment– the woods\, a field\, along a stream–to create unique environmental portraits where the environment plays a role in creating the scene. Utilizing your environment in photographs is key to creating a fun portrait shoot! We will emphasize creating these portraits using available light through subject placement and composition with the aid of diffusers and reflectors.\nWe will begin photographing late afternoon in the sunlight (and shade) and work to sunset in Hanover\, Connecticut.  Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.
