Are you putting your camera away because you just don’t see the difference between your expensive camera and your smart phone? \nLearn to fully utilize your cameras potentials! Harness your creative power with photography! \nThis is one of the first classes to consider when you’re getting started with your Digital SLR or Mirrorless camera. We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. We recommend taking this class prior to Digital Photography Basics 2\, which is the next logical step! \nJoin us to start learning about Digital Photography! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a photo walk at Piers Park in East Boston. During the walk\, we will discuss shooting in lower light with an emphasis on night photography. This will include assistance with exposure\, composition\, focusing\, use of tripods\, and a myriad of other settings and concepts!\nMuch of East Boston consists of dense residential neighborhoods\, in part as a carryover from the area?s heavy influx of immigration at the turn of the previous century\, and in part to its proximity to downtown Boston. Piers Park was developed in the mid-1990s as a contrast to this\, offering beautiful landscaping\, natural vegetation\, and stunning views of downtown Boston. On this walk\, we will photograph the grounds of Piers Park and the skyline during blue hour\, sunset\, and civil twilight. Photographers of all levels are welcome!

DESCRIPTION:Join guest photographer Jamie Malcolm-Brown for a hands-on photography workshop at Tannery Falls in Savoy Mountain State Forest—a hidden gem in the Berkshires known for its dramatic 80-foot waterfall and lush\, moss-covered ravine. We’ll explore the winding trail along Ross Brook\, photographing cascades framed by hemlocks\, boulders\, and shifting light. This workshop is designed for photographers of all levels who want to improve their long exposure techniques\, composition in challenging forest light\, and storytelling through landscape imagery. \nThis peaceful\, lesser-traveled location offers space to slow down\, observe\, and capture intimate scenes and beautiful waterfall views. We’ll cover techniques for working with ND filters\, managing dynamic range under the canopy\, and shooting in changing conditions. Whether you’re looking to build your portfolio or simply spend time in a unique natural setting\, this workshop will guide you through the creative and technical sides of waterfall photography. \nThe hike to the waterfall is only 1/4 mile\, but it is steep. Bring water\, snacks\, bug spray\, and appropriate footwear. Expect to get your shoes or feet wet. \nThe ideal equipment includes a tripod\, a wide-angle zoom or prime lens (with the wide end between 16mm and 24mm)\, and a set of ND filters. If all you photograph with is a cell phone\, that also works. I can help you capture the best images you can with the gear you have. \n  \nAbout Jamie: \nJamie Malcolm-Brown is a drone and landscape photographer that focuses on the natural beauty of New England. He explores the backroads and out of the way places searching for unique locations and conditions. Jamie’s goal is to share the beauty that nature has to offer in hopes of inspiring people to get out and explore however they can.

The gardens include continuously blooming flowers\, emphasizing a rose garden and dahlias throughout the season. We will discuss and demonstrate various techniques for shooting in low light scenarios in and around Portsmouth using available light.

DESCRIPTION:Mt. Auburn Cemetery is one of Massachusetts’s most beautiful green spaces. This large\, rolling parcel of land was America?s first garden-style cemetery. The historical 174-acre cemetery serves as a final resting place for the deceased\, but it is also an arboretum full of flowers\, flowering trees\, colorful shrubs\, architecture\, and wildlife. \nOn this Photo Walk\, we will specifically photograph the cemetery in full bloom! This will be a fantastic opportunity to work on macro while photographing flowers\, all within the confines of the beautiful rolling landscapes of Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Frank Lloyd Wright at the Currier Museum of Art
DESCRIPTION:Join Emily Hojnowski\, Lead Educator and Frank Lloyd Wright fan girl\, for a morning of architecture and art! We’ll begin the day at the Currier Museum of Art where we will be given a private tour of the two Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Manchester\, NH–the Zimmerman House and the Kalil House–both built in the 1950s and recently acquired by the Currier Museum. We will spend approximately two hours on our tours and have enthusiastic and knowledgeable docents to give us all the inside scoop on the homes. After our tour\, we will spend our remaining time exploring the Currier Museum\, independently working on refining compositional techniques. This workshop is an excellent opportunity to work on architectural\, fine art\, and low light photography. Emily will be there to guide you every step of the way and make sure you get all your best images!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Lowell Bridges and Waterways
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a walk in downtown Lowell\, Massachusetts. On this walk\, we will work on architectural photography\, Image composition\, Black and White Photography\, and other ways of creating images expressively.\nThe city of Lowell is a wonderful example of an old New England mill town. A city that was once dominant in the textile industry\, Lowell’s population boomed during much of the 19th century\, peaking in the early 20th century. Lowell\, nicknamed “Mill City”\, still retains much of its’ early 20th century look (and charm)\, with many old mills being converted to apartments\, artist spaces\, shops and more. On this walk\, we will photograph around many of the mill areas and along the beautiful Merrimack River with the many bridges and cobblestone walkways. \nThis will also be an excellent opportunity to use Neutral Density filters to obtain wonderful effects! \nPhotographers of all skill levels are welcome.
