SUMMARY:Flash! Creative Portraits with Speedlights- Hunt's Photo\, Melrose
DESCRIPTION:Speedlights are a powerful tool with such great possibilities that you can use on and off the camera. Unfortunately\, they can be a finicky tool\, difficult to understand.\nBut they don’t need to be! With a little bit of know-how\, you can create excellent portraits ANYWHERE using your speedlight!\nIn this Creating Portraits with Speedlights Session\, we’ll discuss\, demonstrate\, and then practice with models how to set up a great portrait anywhere using the simplest of tools and methods. In this workshop\, we will specifically be working with speedlights/flash off the camera using triggers.\nMost importantly\, attendees will be guiding the setup (and take down) of all the gear. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own gear\, but we will begin with gear that anyone can use\, including:\n-A Variety of brands of Speedlights\n-Off-Camera Triggers\n-Lightmeters\n-Softboxes\, Reflectors\, and other Diffusers\nLayout of the day:\n9am- Introductions\, brief presentation/discussion on exposure & speedlights\, camera setup\n10am- Begin creating setups\n11-3pm- Photographing with models. SUMMARY:Online: Basic Digital Printing (Printing with Lightroom)
DESCRIPTION:The time has come to tame digital printing! With the low price of excellent quality digital printers\, what was once an elite craft is now much more manageable for the average photographer. This course briefly covers the basics questions of printing\, including editing suggestions\, color management tools and settings\, paper styles and finishes\, printing recommendations\, and troubleshooting on how to avoid those nasty pitfalls that can occur along the way. Whether you use Canon\, Epson or HP\, the concepts in this course remain the same.\nThis class also focuses on printing using Lightroom specifically. Being able to print from Lightroom allows you to complete all of your tasks specifically in one rather than multiple programs. Even if you do not own or use Lightroom\, the concepts within this class are fairly global and these concepts can be translated to other programs. We will also discuss printing using these other programs.\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end.\n?You Are Being Recorded? (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don?t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we discuss all the key elements of loading and developing film\, and get you to develop a roll on your own! In this workshop\, we will show you how to load film into a developing tank\, discuss the elements of the chemistry involved\, and other various aspects. Because of the many variables\, we will only be using one specific type of developer\, but we will discuss the possibilities of other developers available and their advantages.\nWe will provide tanks\, reels\, chemistry\, and basically anything that you need to develop your film. All you will need to have is a roll of film to develop. Important: Make sure the roll of film is black & white and not C-41.\nPlease note: Since your film will be wet at the end of the session\, you will leave it to dry and pick it up at a later time.

SUMMARY:Creative Concept Workshop: Food Drops (and Floating Objects!)
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Educators Ron Phillips and Paul Nelson for a unique\, informative\, and fun workshop! Drop some food\, take some pictures\, and have some fun!\nPhotography often starts with an idea\, but sometimes those ideas require post-processing to make them a reality. ?I want to capture food in mid-air falling onto a plate.? You know it can be done\, but how can we do it? Ultimately\, this is achieved through the combination of good lighting\, a good setup and technique\, and finally\, multiple exposures combined in post-processing. And while it sounds difficult\, our goal in this workshop will be to break it all down and use simple techniques to get an amazing finished product!\nWe’ll begin with the concept\, pictured above. Working in groups of two\, we will put together the lighting for the scene and set up the composition. Then we will photograph and work on technique and execution. Once we have successful images\, we will then dive into post-processing using Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop\, combining exposures to make an amazing end result.\nA note on editing requirements: For best results\, attendees should bring a laptop with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop installed (and updated). You do not need to be an expert\, but you should have some familiarity with Lightroom and Photoshop.
