SUMMARY:Wedding Photography Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by SIGMA lenses and in conjunction with the Larz Anderson Auto Museum\nHunt’s Photo Education proudly presents our first Wedding Photography Workshop! The centerpiece of this workshop will be a full-day\, hands-on\, stylized/mock wedding shoot at the beautiful and historic Larz Anderson Auto Museum. Photographers will be led by Rebecca Wade\, a local wedding photographer who has photographed well over 100 weddings over the past five years\, along with wedding photographer Tessa Klingensmith. Attendees will learn everything from the proper equipment and technical skills to navigate a wedding day successfully. In addition\, photographers will learn the importance of client communication\, marketing strategy\, and the back end of running a wedding photography business.\nAnyone that registers for this workshop will also be able to attend our 2-part online Wedding Photography class sessions for no additional charge! These classes will not only provide a substantial background for our workshop\, but also help build more of an understanding of what goes into each wedding!\nWho Should Register\nThis workshop is an excellent opportunity for photographers that are looking to start out in wedding photography\, as well as photographers that have a few weddings under their belt and are looking to get more focused information. This workshop is at an intermediate level and photographers should have a working knowledge of their camera as well as an understanding of exposure\, aperture\, shutter speed\, and ISO.\nDetails About the Stylized\, Mock Shoot\nWe will provide all of the basics elements of the wedding-day experience\, including the bride and groom\, the cake\, the floral arrangements\, the venue\, the tux and the gown!\nLens support from SIGMA\nOur friends at SIGMA lenses will also be providing lenses that you will be able to use for the day\, including select low-aperture zooms and stunning prime lenses that will enhance your shooting experience!\nAbout the Larz Anderson Auto Museum\nJust ten minutes from downtown Boston and nestled inside the 64 beautiful acres of Larz Anderson Park\, the Larz Anders Auto Museum is home to ?America?s Oldest Car Collection?. On this workshop\, we will have exclusive access to The Carriage House\, a landmark within the community built in 1888 and designed by the city architect of Boston. Our patient and entertaining instructors will cover all the basics in this hands-on class\, including changing depth-of-field (controlling what?s in focus in the background)\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques.\nOur two guarantees:\n?You will learn a lot!\n?You will have a fun time doing it!\nSome character references: \n\n?I was impressed with how well the class was run\, the amount of material covered so thoroughly and how all different camera types were incorporated without it causing issues. Bottom Line: Great class for confused beginners.?\n?Everything about this class was excellent. SUMMARY:Analog Love- Working with Large Format Film: Portraits
DESCRIPTION:In the days of film\, 35mm was the standard format\, 120 was medium format (often called “2 1/4”\, describing it in inches)\, and anything larger than that was considered “large format”. Large Format film photography consisted of 4×5″ and larger sizes of negatives\, with 4×5 being the most common\, followed by 8×10″ and 5×7″. Large format films require specific cameras and lenses and are very different experiences than working with modern digital cameras.\nLarge format film photography creates large negatives\, and the advantage to those negatives are the vast detail that they capture as well as an incredible range of depth of field. Although modern digital cameras are amazing\, the large format “look” cannot be duplicated by modern cameras and is unique.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education’s Paul Nelson\, who has been photographing with 4×5 cameras and film for over 20 years\, for the first in a series of classes on working with large format photography! In this workshop\, we will begin by learning the basics of large format cameras\, including setting up\, attaching lenses\, using the focusing rails\, learning how to focus\, and how to see focus on the ground glass. We’ll continue by loading film into film holders\, then put it all into practice by taking portraits! In the end\, we’ll develop the film and you’ll end up with some spectacular large format images!\nDoes this all sound foreign? Don’t fret!\n?If you don’t have a 4×5 camera\, we can provide you with one! Make sure to let us know upon registration if you will need a 4×5 camera!\n?You do not have to have ANY experience with large format or film photography! All you need is a passion for the subject!\n?We will provide up to 10 sheets of 4×5 film and film holders to each attendee. (If you plan to bring a camera larger than 4×5\, please let us know. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product\, which is the purpose behind the Printed Vision Series.\nIn this session… Editing for the Final Print\nLet’s be honest- everyone loves their photos on their phones or the back of their cameras\, right? But then when it gets onto your computer screen\, it doesn’t look as good. It can be even more challenging to make your photo look good in print form\, let alone a large print!\nIn this Saturday morning print session\, we’ll go over all the fine points in editing to get your image “Print Ready”. In addition to that\, we’ll discuss how paper type affects mood and what papers there are out there to influence your vision! We’ll also take one of your images and print it in a size up to 13×19″ on Fine Art paper.  (Please note: The cost of a 12?18 or 13?19 print on fine art paper is $35-$40; the cost of this class includes the cost of that print! If you want to make TWO prints\, the additional cost would be $40/print.)\nJoin us for a fun class on Editing and Printing!
