DESCRIPTION:This online class will meet Thursday January 18th & 25th\, 7-8:30pm EST \nTwo of the greatest advantages of living near the coast are the photographic opportunities afforded twice daily: Sunrise and Sunset. The coastline has natural obviously natural beauty\, but how to create impactful images can be elusive and frustrating. How do we plan for weather? How do we decide to expose our images? And how do we have the foresight to plan out our images in the field with post-processing in mind?\nIn this 2-part online class\, guest photographer Tony Baldasaro will share his experiences on how to best photograph along the coast\, from prep work to in-the-field techniques to post-processing. \nIn session one\, Tony will cover tips on creating impactful images of sunrise and sunset along the coast\, including:\n• Proper Equipment & Settings\n• The challenge of dynamic range\n• Shooting to the Right and how to use your Histogram\n• Compositional techniques to keep in mind in the field\n• The concept of “collecting assets” – shooting in the field with post processing in mind. \nIn session two\, Tony will tackle the challenge of post-processing\, including:\n• His techniques for managing files in Lightroom\n• Choosing impactful images.\n• Using layers in photoshop for simple blending techniques.\n• The difference between global and local adjustments.\n• Using masks in Lightroom to make local adjustments \nAbout Tony Baldasaro Having called New England my home for nearly 50 years\, Tony has grown accustomed to not only the seasonal changes\, but also the sometimes volatile weather that comes with those changes and has come to love photographing in all of the conditions New England has to offer.\nWith more than 20 years of photography experience\, he loves creating images that depict not only natural landscapes\, but the animals found in those landscapes as well. Specifically\, he loves creating images of birds in their natural habitat.\nIn addition to photography\, Tony has been a teacher and school official for nearly 30 years. Merging his two passions\, photography and education\, gives him the opportunity to do what he loves most: Teach and create. He looks forward to continuing to teach and create moving forward. \n\n\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Workshop: Water Drops (and more!)
DESCRIPTION:Water Drop Photography is a style wherein one drops a liquid into another liquid and photographs it in a way that emphasizes the “unseeable”–little droplets\, the corona of the drop\, and more. This style uses high speed flash in order to stop the action instead of fast shutter speed. It is a simple technique that can be achieved with even the most rudimentary gear\, but it can produce infinitely different results. Just like snowflakes\, you’ll never be able to duplicate a water drop.\nIn this workshop\, we will begin with a live demo describing the gear\, settings\, set-up\, and execution of water drop photography. We’ll then dive right in\, beginning simply and then moving on to not just water droplets\, but also other items! Photographers of all skill levels are welcome\, but one should come with patience!\nTwo important notes: We will be using flash in this workshop. You do not need to own a flash\, and we may use only what we have anyway\, but you are welcome to bring one if you have one in order to understand how to replicate it on your own. Also\, to minimize on gear and space\, we will be working in groups of two.

SUMMARY:Print Review Monthly
DESCRIPTION:About The Printed Review Monthly \nThe printed image shows our successes and our faults at a much higher level of detail than the digital image. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product. \nOur Print Review Monthly is a chance to continue the print conversation over the course of many months. The concept of these classes is similar to our Printed Vision Series Classes: Attendees will independently process 1-2 images and upload them to the instructor for review. The instructor will send back a video image review which will discuss how to improve the image to make it “print ready”\, including exposure\, focus\, composition\, and especially paper selection. The instructor will then print one of the images to be displayed in the Print Review\, which will take place both in-person and online\, in case you cannot attend live. In the end of each session\, you will end up with a print up to 13×19” on Fine Art paper to take home with you. (We print on Moab\, Hahnemuhle\, and Canson fine art papers.) \nFor this class\, you can either choose a single session OR sign up for three months at a discounted rate.  You do not need to attend 3 consecutive sessions and may attend whenever it’s convenient. Choosing this option is excellent to keep the printing conversation going! However\, please note that the sessions expire after one year. (If you end up not being able to attend all the sessions\, you can also exchange a session for an additional print!) \nThese sessions are excellent for anyone: \n• Someone that wants a little help with editing before they get a print \n• Someone that does print but has print-related questions \n• A person that prints often and wants to try a different paper \n• Someone with no knowledge of printing that just wants to get a print! \n  \nCome check out why printing is the best thing to do for your photography! \n  \nReceiving Your Print\nAfter the class\, your print can either be mailed to you or picked up at one of our Hunt’s Photo store locations. \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to upload images for the image review\, and the link to get into the online class.
