DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event is taken by the Wakefield Rec Department at this Link!\nWednesdays January 7th\, 14th\, 21st\, 28th\, February 4th & 11th\, 4:30-6pm • Hunt’s Photo\, Melrose \nDo you have a budding photographer that you want to encourage? Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a 6-session photography program aimed at strengthening their interest\, improving their photography\, and getting them truly excited about being the artist\, the creator\, and the family photographer! \nOver the course of six sessions\, we will cover a wide range of topics\, from composition & perspective to depth of field & movement. In every session we’ll have a brief introduction to a topic followed by a fun practical exercise. Our goal is to get your photographers taking pictures as much as possible! At the end of each session\, we’ll give an assignment for the following week\, and at the start of the next session\, we’ll look back on the images to see what we liked about them. \nOur goal in this program is to have a lot of fun and not bog students down with too much technical stuff. However\, we will also scaffold instruction\, so if an attendee wants to know more about the technical aspects\, they still can! Please note: This course is geared towards students aged 12-16 years old. Our age requirement is general and a certain maturity level is helpful.  Younger students with interest and a level of responsibility are welcome to attend. \nStudents will be required to have some kind of camera. We generally recommend a DSLR or mirrorless camera\, but if you’re unsure\, feel free to contact us at classes@huntsphoto.com \nThis will be a fun program with experienced instruction. SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop: Creative Lighting for Portraits- Hunt's Photo\, Melrose
DESCRIPTION:It’s the winter time and thus many portrait photographers flee back to the warm comforts of their studios. But that doesn’t mean that you have to resort to creating boring portraits! \nEducators Paul Nelson and Henry Marte lead this fun workshop on lighting\, posing\, backgrounds\, and more!  We will work on creativity using simple tools and techniques\, whether to create dramatic lighting\, a moody ambiance\, or unique headshots. We will also employ the use of props and backgrounds to make your images stand out from the basic studio portraiture! \nWe will specifically be using Nanlite and Aputure LED lights\, but the concepts can apply to strobes and speedlights. \nThis will be a fun day of portraits and not to be missed! \nAbout Henry Marte\nHenry is a published photographer and credited filmmaker. He specializes in various forms of photography\, including portrait\, events\, headshots\, drone\, and commercial photography. Other than attending MassArt’s Documentary Film School\, he is almost entirely self taught. He runs a small media production studio called Marte Media\, based out of Western Avenue Studios in Lowell. Some of his clients include Spartan Race\, UMass Lowell\, Phillips Academy\, Navigation Brewing Company\, and more. Originally from NYC\, he now calls Lowell\, Massachusetts his home. He enjoys New York style pizza\, walks with a camera\, and hiking to active volcanoes.

SUMMARY:Online: An Introduction to Digital Printing (Printing with Lightroom)
DESCRIPTION:If you own a printer\, are considering purchasing one\, or even just want to learn a little bit more about the printing process\, this class is for you! \nIn this class\, Hunt’s Photo Educator and printing enthusiast Paul Nelson will walk you through the basics of Digital Printing\, including: \n• Basic computer settings for print on both Mac and PC \n• The advantages (and disadvantages) of printing using different programs for printing (and why Adobe Lightroom Classic is one of the best options) \n• The differences between printer models \n• Color management tools and settings \n• Editing Suggestions \n• Troubleshooting (Paul has extensive knowledge of this!) \nThis class also focuses on printing using Lightroom specifically. Being able to print from Lightroom allows you to complete all of your tasks specifically in one rather than multiple programs. Even if you do not own or use Lightroom\, the concepts within this class are fairly global and these concepts can be translated to other programs. We will also discuss printing using these other programs. \nWe LOVE printing! If you are at all curious about why printing is the most important thing in the world\, join this class and you’ll soon figure it out! \n  \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic\, followed by a short Q&A. During the class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end.\n?You Are Being Recorded? (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don?t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic.
