SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: The Highlands of Iceland
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Adventures for another trip to the ?Land of Fire and Ice?! In this photo workshop\, we will travel across the Icelandic Highlands and discover all of the best that this isolated area has to offer. This is a comprehensive workshop focusing on all areas of the Highlands plus the M?vatn area in the north of Iceland. Our main focus is to access locations that are closed for most of the year and photograph the dynamic Highland landscapes.\nThe Highlands of Iceland are vast\, combining glaciers\, moraines\, red ? yellow and black deserts\, geothermal areas & hot springs\, lava\, lakes\, rivers and waterfalls. In this Highlands & North Iceland Photo Workshop\, you will have the rare opportunity to photograph and visit areas which offer all of the landscapes so unique to Iceland. It is quite simply a photographer?s dream.\nThe Highlands are usually referred to as the central area of Iceland\, located 400 meters above sea level\, covering approximately 76% of the land?s surface area. It is often referred to by Icelanders as ?bygg?ir ? or uninhabited country. Roads accessing this area often open in late June\, and typically close in the beginning of October\, if the autumn is mild. This short window of time gives enthusiastic photographers only a few months a year to travel and enjoy the many breathtaking locations this area offers.\n~\nYour trip includes: \n\nAll accommodations with private bathrooms during the workshop\nAll meals during the tour.\nGuiding by Hunt’s Photo Adventure?s Robert Fletcher and Jeff Swinger & an Icelandic Pro Photographer\nImage Critique & Post Processing session\nSuper Truck transportation\nPrivate airport transport directly to and from your hotel in Reykjavik\n\nYour trip does not include: \n\nInternational Flights\nCancellation/Travel Insurance (Strongly recommended)\nAlcoholic drinks\nDinner on the last night\nItems of Personal nature\n\n\nYour passport will be required on this workshop.\nA Little Bit About the Workshop:\nThe Workshop will begin in Reykjavik with a group dinner on the first evening.\nTransportation upon Arrival:?We include Flybus vouchers from Keflavik Airport & back after the workshop. Upgrade to a private airport pick up or drop off is available. We use our specially modified 4?4 Super Truck for transportation in our Iceland Workshops.\nAccommodations:?Accommodation in double occupancy for nine nights at hotels\, single room available upon request. We stay at the various hotels & guesthouses\, but as close as possible to our photography locations. The workshop concludes when we check into our last hotel night in Reykjavik ? Participants will then have time to visit Reykjavik or rest for early flights.\nSkill Sets:?All Levels of Photographers are Welcome. While this is a photography workshop\, non-photographers may also register\, but please note that we will emphasize photographing on the workshop.\nPhysical Ability:?The tour is open to all ability levels. While this is not a hiking tour\, we will be as active as conditions allow and make short walks and potentially hike up small 100-200 meter hills.\nMisc:?The Workshop includes Photographic tutoring and guidance by our Hunt’s Photo Education team as well as a pro-landscape photographer from Iceland. We will provide you with a packing list for the tour\, with recommended equipment and clothing. Safety gear provided when needed.\nA Note About Payments and Deposits:?A deposit of $1\,000 is required upon sign-up to secure a spot. The remaining balance is due 90-days prior to the workshop. After this point\, the workshop is non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.\nAbout our instructors\nRobert Fletcher?began his full-time photography career in 1970. Following in the footsteps of Ansel Adams\, he mostly photographed people (children\, portraits\, weddings\, seniors\, etc.)\, which paid the bills. Over time\, he became interested in photographing wildlife and landscapes\, mostly for personal pleasure. In 1999\, he was asked to become a ?Stringer? for Canon USA and has been in that position since then. It has led Robert towards teaching\, leading workshops and sharing his life-long passion with others. He always looks forward to sharing his knowledge of photography with those who are anxious to learn.\nJeff Swinger?boasts nearly 30 years of professional experience built upon his passion for telling stories through images. He honed his skills over 16 years with The Cincinnati Enquirer covering news and sports and has covered four Olympic Games for USA Today Sports. Additionally\, Jeff works as an educational contributor and freelance Pro Market Representative for Canon USA and travels domestically and internationally conducting photo tours and workshops. Jeff lives with his family in Park City\, Utah.
