SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Wild Horses in Utah
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for our annual adventure to photograph the Wild Horses of Utah! Join us as we search out and photograph one of the largest herds of wild horses in Utah!\nThis is a unique photography workshop right out of “The Old West”! Wild Horses have occupied this mountainous region of Utah since the late 1800’s. The herd is approximately 200 – 250 horses and is the largest herd of wild horses in the west. Mares and stallions average around 800 to 1000 pounds. The colors within the herd are brown\, bay\, paint\, sorrel\, roan\, buckskin\, black\, palomino\, and gray. The variety is endless due to the frequent breeding within the herd. There are many foal\, yearlings and colts that roam with the herd. The horses are in good condition and are frequently seen in the vicinity of the Pony Express Trail in the valley floor. On this workshop\, we will photograph the wild horses as well as other local scenes and wildlife.\nOn this workshop\, you will want to bring a variety of lenses\, from wide-angle to super-telephoto. The distance to your subjects can vary\, as the horses can be right next to you or far in the distance\, but it is certainly recommended to consider bringing a super-telephoto in the range of 500-600mm. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: US Open of Surfing 2026
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description \nThe US Open of Surfing is the world’s largest and most attended surfing competition. It will include world-class champion surfers\, Olympic surfers. i.e. the best of the best. The US Open of Surfing is host to the eighth stop on the WSL Challenger Series\, the main qualification pathway to the elite Championship Tour.\n\nOver the course of the event\, educators Bob Fletcher and Jeff Swinger will give guided instruction on all the elements of creating dynamic images of the surfing\, including detailed instructions of focus settings and techniques (including eye autofocus\, if applicable)\, exposure\, composition\, post-processing and more. Attendees will have plenty of in-the-field time to practice and receive feedback from two highly active action shooters: Jeff Swinger is a 4-time Olympic IOC accredited sports photographer and Robert Fletcher has photographed many\, many surfing championships in So Cal.\n\nThis workshop will be limited to 14 attendees to this premium sporting event and photographic learning opportunity. This workshop will be unique as we will have added assistance with seating\, food\, and other logistics to ensure the best experience possible. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: The 2026 Total Eclipse AND The Golden Circle in Iceland
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description\nOn August 12th\, 2026 the west-end of Iceland will be treated to a spectacular total solar eclipse\, the rarest of them all\, where the moon perfectly obscures the sun. The path of total shadow (umbra) across the Earth’s surface width of 30-50 miles while the path of partial shadow (penumbra) can reach over 1\,000 miles wide attaining a speed of 1\,600 miles per hour. In this case\, the eclipse will be visible only on the east-end of Iceland for a total of 2 hours and 1 minute. \nOn this unique\, once-in-a-lifetime workshop\, we will be discussing and instructing on how to photograph the total solar eclipse\, then put our practice to the test by photographing the eclipse from an excellent (currently undisclosed*) location. \nIn preparation for the workshop\, we will make sure you are aware of the proper gear you will need to bring\, from filters to cameras and lenses to tripods and more! We will meet online\, via a webinar\, about a month prior\, to discuss more of the specifics and give you a “dry run” of the process. We will maximize our time in the field practicing our “eclipse timing” and spend the day running through the whole setup\, including composition\, camera settings\, when to utilize filters\, how to execute bracketing\, and more so that you are fully prepared during the eclipse. We will also have time available for post-processing\, which is extremely unique to this type of photography. \nAfter the Eclipse\, we will also have the added bonus…of touring Iceland\, where we will tour and photograph “the Golden Circle”. \nThis will include Gullfoss waterfall\, Geysir Geothermal field and Þingvellir National Park\, all of which must-sees for everyone visiting Iceland. Þinvellir was accepted on the World Heritage list for cultural values in 2004 and is part of a fissure zone running through Iceland\, being situated on the tectonic plate boundaries of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. This gives us amazing landscapes to photograph! \nFor many\, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you don’t want to miss!!! \n  \nEclipse Time Schedule (shown in local time) \n• Sunrise will be at approximately 5:08 am \n• Sunset will be at approximately 10:03 pm \n• We will have a total of 16 hours and 55 minutes of daylight \n• C1 (start of eclipse) is at 4:45:25 pm \n• C2 (start of totality) is at 5:46:15 pm \n• C3 (end of totality) is at 5:48:03 pm (a total of 1 minute 48 seconds) \n• C4 (ending) is at 6:46:15 pm \n• Total Duration is 2 hours and 1 minute \n*We will be viewing the eclipse from an un-specified location because eclipse locations can become over-crowded if advertised on the internet. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Autumn in New Orleans & The Louisiana Bayou
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description \nHunt’s Photo Adventure leaders Bob Fletcher and Jeff Swinger invite you to a unique Photo Adventure to New Orleans & the Louisiana Bayou. The trip will have a variety of subjects\, from street photography and architecture to wildlife and swampy landscapes!\nThe first two days we will be exploring New Orleans’s French Quarter\, Bourbon Street\, the Garden District\, and the Gothic above-ground cemetery that you have seen so often on television and in movies. You will be photographing architecture and street performers\, riding on a historic streetcar\, and enjoying the warm ambiance of New Orleans. \nThe rest of the days\, prepare yourself for an adventure through the swamps and bayous of Louisiana. You will embark on your journey in a custom-built vessel with a covered roof to keep you dry and cool. Tours are narrated by Capt. Billy Gaston\, who was born and raised in the Bayou. Toilet facilities are available on board the boat with special attention given to seniors and the physically challenged. \nThe cypress swamps of Louisiana are beautifully scenic\, but can be difficult to photograph without a boat to access most of the photogenic areas and an experienced guide to get you there. Photographing out of boats\, you will be shooting mostly handheld.  Wildlife like egrets\, herons\, turtles\, snakes\, owls\, and alligators can be common sightings in the swamp. You will want to bring a variety of focal lengths from wide angle to telephoto to get the most out of your trip. Early November to mid-December is the best time to be in the swamps. Wildlife is preparing for winter and is active and abundant. The cypress trees can take on a rusty appearance and fog can be common in the mornings. \n \nItinerary\nThis photography workshop begins in New Orleans\, where we’ll immerse ourselves in the energy and character of the French Quarter. From historic streets and iconic architecture to street performers and classic New Orleans flavors\, the city provides endless opportunities for storytelling and candid photography\, both day and night. We’ll explore at a relaxed pace\, focusing on capturing the spirit and visual rhythm of the Quarter. \n  \nMidway through the trip\, we head south to Morgan City and into the heart of Louisiana’s bayou country. Here\, the focus shifts to wildlife and landscape photography as we explore winding waterways by boat with a local Cajun guide. Cypress trees\, moss-draped swamps\, and native wildlife—including alligators and birdlife—create a completely different visual experience. Sunrise and afternoon sessions allow us to work in the best light\, with time built in for image review and post-processing discussions. One day includes a catered Southern Low Country shrimp boil lunch in the bayou\, paired with live local musicians for entertainment—an authentic Cajun experience between shooting sessions.
