Photographers of all levels are welcome!\nDavis Square is located in the heart of Somerville and is a vibrant mix of shops\, restaurants\, and bustling streets of cars and people. Located down the street from Tufts University\, Davis has seen a number of resurgences in recent years\, making it a wonderful place to eat\, shop\, or just walk around. Davis is the home to the famous Somerville Theater\, the Rosebud–formerly a dining car\, now a restaurant– and the “10 Figures” statues. It’s a great place to visit\, as well as a spectacular experience to photograph.

DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have 10-15 attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nLandscape Photography\nLandscape photography is one of the most easily accessible genres of photography and is enjoyed by many. What does it take to create a landscape image that stands out? Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we go beyond “F8 and be there” and dive deep into the technical\, artistic\, and practical aspects of landscape photography.\nIn week one\, we’ll cover what it takes to plan and the settings necessary for your best shots. We’ll also talk about the gear all landscape photographers should have in their bags and what to do when the weather just won’t cooperate. In week two\, we’ll edit landscape images from start to finish using Adobe Lightroom Classic. By week three\, we’ll discuss composition\, dynamic range\, depth of field\, and focus. We’ll also discuss when to shoot in color and when to shoot in black and white. In our last week\, we’ll cover shooting and editing HDR images and panorama images in Adobe Lightroom Classic. We’ll also cover shooting landscapes at night as well as astrolandscapes. Each week\, Emily will give an assignment to hone your new skills and each student will receive individualized critiques. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for this three-week course that helps answer many of these questions. What’s most important about this course is that we will give weekly editing assignments\, and we will review those edits at the start of the following week. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nIn week one\, we’ll talk about file types and adjustment ranges using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. In week two\, we’ll dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. Finally\, in week three\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including Sharpening\, HDR\, Pano stitching and more.\nEach week\, we will give an assignment and students will upload their edited photos prior to the next class. DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education on a beautiful photo walk photographing plants and flowers with an emphasis on macro photography. During this walk\, we will work on use of color\, close up/macro photography\, use of tripods\, depth of field\, exposure and use of reflectors/diffusers.\nOn this walk\, we will be photographing during Stevens-Coolidge’s annual Bloomfest. We will have exclusive access at a time when normal visitors will not be on the grounds\, allowing us to spend time with our compositions! This is a very unique and fun workshop- join us!\nThe Stevens-Coolidge Place is a unique estate in North Andover that benefits from a beautiful indoor space\, but is also quite famous for beautifully maintained grounds that include a rose garden\, greenhouse\, and more. DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our new Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have 10-15 attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nMastering Manual Mode\nLearning about photography can be a real challenge. There are so many pieces to the puzzle of photography\, some of which use confusing terminology. For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the Priority Modes because it’s “easier”. In reality\, these priority modes are just a short-term solution. It’s important to fully understand the “why” and “how” of your camera settings\, and learning to master manual is an excellent way to do so.\nThis Multi-Session Series will focus on Mastering Manual Mode. In week 1\, we?ll cover the technical side of aperture\, shutter\, and ISO. We?ll also discuss metering modes\, reading your meter\, and understanding histograms. In week 2\, we?ll learn to control depth of field\, focusing\, and how lens choice affects aperture choice. By week 3\, we?ll discuss how to use shutter speed effectively to either blur your motion or freeze your action. We?ll talk about shooting at night and in low light. We?ll also talk about ISO and how it controls image noise. In week 4\, we?ll put everything together by discussing dynamic range\, white balance\, and how to get the correct exposure in camera every time. We?ll also answer the most important question of all: which change should I make to achieve my desired results?\nEach week Emily will give an assignment to help further the topics covered in that week?s class. Students are encouraged to send in assignments that will be individually critiqued by Emily each week. This is a great opportunity to enhance your exposure skills while getting direct feedback on your week.\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure! They are often a piebald coloring and feature hooves and legs that showcase their feathered hair. On this unique photo walk\, we will have a chance to get up close with the horses\, as well as photograph them in action !\nFor the first few hours of the afternoon\, we will be able to photograph at the stables\, located in Brunswick\, Maine. We will focus on the horses and barn details\, which will be a unique opportunity to get creative and document their environment! From 4-6pm\, riders will maneuver the horses for us to have various action scenes\, vantage points\, details\, and creative opportunities. DESCRIPTION:Join cinematographer Nick Froment in our Providence store as we embark upon an immersive product shooting experience. In this workshop\, we will discuss a variety of topics\, from camera settings to gear\, and get hands-on in creating an actual product video\, working with the purpose of getting the best end result possible.\nThis class will be divided into three sections: Discussion/examples and demo\, Hands-on working with setups\, and Review of work.\nIn the first section\, we will discuss the goals of product videography and how to achieve them by reviewing a previously made cinematic product video for lighting\, camera movement\, shooting styles and more. We will then create a mock product video as a demonstration.\nIn the second section\, students will break into groups with an Ikan slider and fluid video head + tripod and begin creating videos. You are welcome to bring your own products to video for this section or video what we have for demo. We will also work with other shots\, such as panning\, tilting\, rack focusing\, handheld movements and more. (Note: We will have some gear to use\, but you are welcome to bring your own as well.)\nIn the final section\, we will review the media over HDMI\, in Final Cut\, make suggestions\, and refine videos to perfection.\nThis is going to be a fun and very informative class! DESCRIPTION:This is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. How do we organize our photos? What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we ?step it up? and figure out what to we?re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are ?good? or ?correct?. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! In Week 1\, we will begin by discussing how to organize your images for quick retrieval via keywords\, ratings\, and more\, as well as giving a description on how to consider organizing your photos on your computer. DESCRIPTION:This is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. How do we organize our photos? What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we ?step it up? and figure out what to we?re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are ?good? or ?correct?. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! In Week 1\, we will begin by discussing how to organize your images for quick retrieval via keywords\, ratings\, and more\, as well as giving a description on how to consider organizing your photos on your computer. Specifically\, we will cover brief computer file management\, the importance of keywords\, flagging and rating photos\, and searching metadata to find images. In Week 2\, we?ll start with the basic adjustments using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. We?ll then dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. In Week 3\, we?ll discuss advanced editing\, including local adjustments\, such as radial and graduated filters\, and how to ?finish? the image- sharpening\, noise reduction\, and more.\nIn-between each session\, we will give assignments to help you become more proficient and grasp the material! This class is strongly recommended for anyone looking to further their skills with Lightroom!\nAn important note about this course! There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now. This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as ?Adobe Lightroom CC? (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. The look and feel of the program is completely different? This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. (See graphic on the right.) If you are unsure\, feel free to email us at classes@huntsphoto.com. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Great Smoky Mountain National Park
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description\nSpring time in Great Smoky Mountain National Park is a photographer?s paradise. The Smokies are renowned for their diversity of nature\, abundant plant and wildlife\, rushing streams\, and ancient mountains. The month of April reveals many beautiful aspects of Spring throughout the park as we explore and pursue a variety of subject matter. In Cades Cove\, we will explore the cultural elements of the mountain people. Along Tremont\, we will expand our creativity by photographing rushing water and quiet landscapes. Throughout the park there is an abundance of wildflowers and wildlife to enjoy. From the top of Clingman?s Dome\, we will capture mountain vista?s that are breathtaking. Each day\, we will work on concepts of Subject Development\, Exposure\, Image Composition\, Architectural Photography\, Black and White Photography\, Low Light Photography\, and Long Exposures. There is nothing quite like the Great Smoky Mountains.\nWe will maximize our time in the field with hands on instruction as well as incorporating group discussion\, classroom instruction\, and image review during the workshop. Once on location\, we will utilize local transportation to and from each destination.\nWhat?s included:\n?Daily excursions in and around locations in Great Smoky Mountain National Park\n?In-field instruction at each location\n?Image Discussion and Review\nWhat?s?not?included:\n?Air fare and transportation to Gatlinburg\, TN\n?Cost of hotel (We will be staying at the Black Bear Inn in Gatlinburg 865-436-5656)\n?Cost of food\n?Travel insurance (which is highly recommended for all travelers)\nA Note About Traveling to Gatlinburg: It is recommended to fly into McGhee-Tyson airport in Knoxville. From there\, you will need to rent a car to get to Gatlinburg\, about an hour drive away. In the weeks leading up to this adventure\, we will try to connect attendees that may be arriving at similar times in order to share rides through car rental.\nThere is also a paid shuttle you can take from Knoxville to Gatlinburg as well.\nSkill Sets: All Levels of Photographers are Welcome\nPhysical Activity: Medium to High. There will be long days that include sunrise and sunset on the same day. There will be a fair amount of walking and at least one longer than usual hike.\nIn this workshop we will cover:\n? I was really impressed with the whole experience. Great instructors!!?\n?Everything was condensed and taught at a basic level which helped with the confusion I had before coming to class. Bottom Line: Great class for confused beginners.?\n?Everything about this class was excellent. The instructors were patient and took time to answer every question thoroughly and we were given ample time to try out the techniques we were being shown. All in all\, a wonderful experience.?\n?Very much liked the instructors- knowledgeable\, entertaining\, encouraging\, not judgmental. Loved the casual nature of the class and opportunity for one-on-one discussions. Excellent for me\, as a novice.?

DESCRIPTION:Gypsy horses are a specialty breed of horse from the UK where they were originally used to pull carriages. They are often a piebald coloring and feature hooves and legs that showcase their feathered hair. On this unique photo walk\, we will have a chance to get up close with the horses\, as well as photograph them in action !\nFor the first few hours of the afternoon\, we will be able to photograph at the stables\, located in Brunswick\, Maine. We will focus on the horses and barn details\, which will be a unique opportunity to get creative and document their environment! From 4-6pm\, riders will maneuver the horses for us to have various action scenes\, vantage points\, details\, and creative opportunities. Come join us for a unique workshop!\n*Please note: This featured image takes place on a beach- we will not be photographing on the beach area\, as horses are not allowed on the beach past March 31.
