SUMMARY:Online: The Printed Vision- Making a Fine Art Print
DESCRIPTION:Presentation: Thursday December 8th\, 7-8pm ? Online! (Please note date change)\nPrinted Image Review: Thursday December 15th\, 6-8pm ? In our Hunt’s Melrose store or Online!\nAbout The Printed Vision Series\nThe printed image shows our successes and our faults at a much higher level of detail than the digital image. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product\, which is the purpose behind the Printed Vision Series.\nEach Printed Vision topic will meet for two sessions. In the first session\, we will discuss the topic and elaborate on editing with examples. This will include discussion of exposure\, dynamic range and color\, but also deeper points\, such as noise reduction\, image sharpening and grain. In between sessions 1 and 2\, attendees will independently process 1-2 images and submit them to the instructor for printing. We will print?one?of the two images leading into the second session and discuss some of the challenges we face in printing them.\nYou do not need to produce a new image for this class and can go into your archives to print\, but you are welcome to go out into the field and create something new based on the topic!\nThis Month?s Printed Vision Session: Making a Fine Art Print\nTo print fine art or not to print fine art: That is the question. What does it mean to make a fine art print? What photographic papers define fine art? What editing choices should we make to get through the emotions of the print? How do we calculate our editing with our paper choices?\nIn this class\, we will discuss the answers to these questions in our instructional online presentation\, held on the first date\, then workshop your images in order to make a fine art print. We will reconvene the following week for our Printed Image Review. You will have that time period in between to edit and submit your images. In the end\, you will receive a fine art print of your edited image up to 13?19? in size. (Please note: The cost of a 12?18 or 13?19 print on fine art paper is $35-$40; the cost of this class includes the cost of that print!)\nRemember\, tis the season\, and we don?t need to ?buy buy buy? in order to give a wonderfully creative gift. Consider creating a fine art print and giving that to a friend or loved one! We will also discuss framing options and how that plays into the holidays.\nJoin us for this quintessential Printed Vision class!\nReceiving Your Print\nAfter the class\, your print can either be mailed to you or picked up at one of our Hunt’s Photo store locations.\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 24 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\n?You Are Being Recorded? (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don?t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time.

SUMMARY:Online: Personal Vision Series- "Peaceful"
DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Thu Dec 1st\, 7pm EST\nImage Review Tue Dec 20th\, 7pm EST\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education as we help grow your knowledge\, creativity\, and artistic expression with our expanded Personal Vision Series. These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the ?Walk? portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month?s topic is “Peaceful”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment.\nYour personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. Join us for to help grow that voice!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk and Adventure Printing Series
DESCRIPTION:Have you attended a recent Hunt’s Photo Walk or Adventure and want to get a print made? Do you either want to learn a little bit about the editing process or get a professional’s opinion? If the answers to these questions are “yes”\, this will be an excellent opportunity to take advantage of our Hunt’s Photo Walk Printing Series.\nHere’s how it works: If you’ve taken a Hunt’s Photo Walk or Adventure recently\, you are welcome to sign up for the class! (There really isn’t a date limitation\, but we always encourage printing an image within a few months.) Upon signing up\, you will receive an email reading “Confirmation for Hunt’s Photo Walk and Adventure Printing Series”. In that email will be a few basic instructions\, including what images to consider\, what type of image to submit\, and where to upload the images. (We ask that images are uploaded a few days prior to class date so that we have enough time to review and print them.) We will then go through the images for review in a video recording\, discussing exposure\, cropping/composition\, print sizing\, color\, and paper options that may fit with the image. We’ll send you that review\, and upon your approval\, make the prints. We will then regroup for a full print review on the date listed above. You can attend that session live in our Melrose store location or online!\nThe printed image shows our successes and our faults at a much higher level of detail than the digital image. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product.\nWe hope to see you there for this fun experience!\n*Please note: The cost of this class includes the image review and printing of the image up to 13×19″. Extra prints and/or larger prints can also be produced for an additional charge.

SUMMARY:Online: Multi-Session Series- Creating Books\, Calendars\, and More: Preparing Images\, Creating Designs\, and Emphasizing Storytelling
DESCRIPTION:Please note: This is a 3-part class that will meet on the dates listed above\nThat title is exhausting! And so it can also feel making a book\, a zine\, a calendar\, or even a print! There?s so much to the printing process that is foreign and never covered in standard courses\, and so in this course\, we will begin to cover some of the basics.\nIn this three session course\, we?ll discuss the following topics:\n-Organization?how to use your software (ANY software) to work for you to prepare your vision\n-Culling your images? reducing the quantity of images you use to strengthen your end result\n-Pre-visualization? What can be automated and what do we have to do from scratch?\n-Storytelling?This is the glue that holds the book together! (Figuratively\, not literally.) How do we keep interest for 20 pages? 50 pages? 100 pages?\nMuch of the conversation in this course will be demonstrated using Adobe Lightroom Classic\, but other programs (Capture One\, OnOne\, Apple Photos) can also be discussed and just as applicable.\nIn our final session\, we will review work from attendees. You don?t need to be done with your book. (You might not even need to be MAKING a book!) However\, the review process is an excellent way to get feedback on your book\, and also see what others are doing!\nPlease note: We will NOT be printing books in this class.\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for this three-week course that helps answer many of these questions. What’s most important about this course is that we will give weekly editing assignments\, and we will review those edits at the start of the following week. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nIn week one\, we’ll talk about file types and adjustment ranges using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. In week two\, we’ll dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. Finally\, in week three\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including Sharpening\, HDR\, Pano stitching and more.\nEach week\, we will give an assignment and students will upload their edited photos prior to the next class. We will\, by and large\, be working with your images in the class.\nThis class is strongly recommended for anyone either looking to just get started with editing\, or to fine-tune your editing skills!\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 24 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure! During each class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Question box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end.\n?You Are Being Recorded? (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don?t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included\, we will send it out with the link for the video.\nNo online classes should be shared and cannot be shared in a public environment\, including with camera clubs\nThe online content is the copyright of Hunt’s Photo Education and/or the Instructor. SUMMARY:Online: Creative Composition Series- Patterns
DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Tuesday October 4th\, 7pm EST\nImage Review Tuesday October 18th\, 7pm EST\nWhen someone says\, “They have an eye for photography”\, the general consensus is that they have a good eye for composition. Composition can be both simple and complex\, often at the same time\, and there are an infinite number of variations on those complexities (and simplicities). And even if you have a good eye for composition\, it’s important to train your creative core!\nThus we introduce our Creative Composition Series. In class one\, we will give an overview on a specific style of composition in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field to photograph in that compositional style. We will collect images and reconvene a few weeks later for an online image review to discuss the compositional elements of your image.\nThis month?s composition is Patterns. Come join us to work and strengthen your creative compositions!

The Art of Capturing Refraction\nIn this program\, OM SYSTEM ambassador\, Emilie Talpin will immerse you in the world of water drop photography\, also known as refraction. If you are not familiar with this term\, refraction is when the light passes from one medium and into another\, affecting the direction of the light. In macro photography\, the capture of a background subject into a foreground water drop is a good illustration of refraction. We will learn how to capture such images and go over the equipment needed as well as techniques and tips to make a successful photo.\nAbout Emilie\nEmilie Talpin is an OM-SYSTEM (Olympus) ambassador\, who grew up in Chalon sur Sa?ne\, France\, the birthplace of Nic?phore Ni?pce and the first photograph. Despite this background\, she got into photography very late and in 2018 joined a local camera club where she met a group of talented photographers and was inspired to dive deeper into the art of capturing moments in time. Now\, everywhere she goes\, it is with her trusted OM-1 camera by her side. Lately\, she has been concentrating on wildlife and macro photography\, in particular water drop refraction\, but will occasionally stray with friends to an astro or landscape photoshoot. As a French teacher\, she is inherently eager to learn and try new material; a practice also applied outside the classroom as she explores the world around her and chases her next photo.
