SUMMARY:Hunt's Film Workshops: Analog Adventures- Mirror Mirror with Jonathan Pitts-Wiley- Hunt's Photo Providence
DESCRIPTION:This is a 3-part workshop.\nPart 1- Online Introduction- Wednesday March 25th\, 7pm \nPart 2- The Workshop- Sunday April 12th\, 10am-1pm\nPart 3- Online Image Review- TBD\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education and photographer & artist Jonathan Pitts Wiley for Analog Adventures\, a unique film photo workshop! \nIn this series we will have dual goals— To work and get more comfortable with analog film and to explore storytelling through creating dynamic images. Attendees do NOT need to have extensive experience shooting film\, but should own and use a film camera. (It’s ok to bring a digital camera\, but the emphasis of this workshop is analog photography.)\n\nThe series kicks off with “Mirror Mirror”\, a session where we will work on portraits by photographing each other as subjects! The best way to learn about how to pose and direct your subject is to be a subject yourself\, and that’s what this workshop aims to do. Conducted out of our Hunt’s Providence location in a studio atmosphere using LED continuous lighting\, session attendees will walk away with a better understanding of what makes a successful portrait and how to execute it–not to mention some great shots of themselves!\n\n\nA bit of info on Analog Adventures– Each of these workshops will begin with a brief online introductory class prior where we will meet and discuss the topic. Anyone is free to attend this presentation\, so if you’re interested and unsure\, come on in!\nDuring the workshop\, we will work with your film camera and discuss all many elements of the topic.\nAfter the workshop\, attendees will individually develop and scan their own film. (You can develop and scan it on your own\, drop it off at Hunt’s for an additional charge\, or take one of Hunt’s Photo Education’s film developing classes.) We will then reconvene about a month later for an image review\, where attendees will be able to submit a small handful of images that they took during the workshop for review.\n\nPlease note: As mentioned above\, these workshops are designed for film cameras. Attendees do NOT need to have extensive experience shooting film\, but should own and use a film camera. (It’s ok to bring a digital camera\, but the emphasis of this workshop is analog photography.)

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Photographing the Wiscasset\, Waterville\, and Farmington Steam Railway
DESCRIPTION:In Alna\, Maine\, a group of highly motivated and skilled volunteers has worked tirelessly to resurrect what was once a fully-functioning Narrow Gauge Railroad that once served parts of coastal and central Maine. Their work is a labor of love. On the campus of the railroad\, 97 Cross Road\, Alna\, Maine 04535\, several buildings are used for construction\, maintenance\, painting\, engineering\, and labor necessary to renovate\, build\, and maintain steam engines\, railroad cars\, track\, and other necessary components. The undertaking is immense\, impressive\, and fascinating. \nEverything about the location\, the trains\, the many details\, and the people who volunteer their skills to make the WW&F run makes for outstanding photographic opportunities. During the weekend of April 24 and 25\, the railway will be closed to the public as they do “spring cleaning” to prepare the railroad for the season opening. We will have unprecedented access to the campus\, the buildings\, and the volunteers for two full days of photography. The goal is an immersive\, documentary style of storytelling as individuals and as a group. This is a unique and fantastic opportunity. \nAfter the workshop\, anyone that attends (along with anyone that has attended a previous Midcoast/WW&F Adventure) will have the opportunity to sign up for a separate class on developing and creating a book and gallery prints based around the WW&F. This project is geared toward getting attendees more comfortable with the full process\, including culling\, editing\, processing for print\, and developing cohesive projects! (More details to come…) \n  \nGeneral Schedule: \nApril 24 – \nArrive WW&F Railroad at 10 am. \nBring a Lunch\, snacks\, drinks with you. Wiscasset is about 5 miles away if lunch needed. \nConclude afternoon at 5 pm \nDinner locally as a group \nApril 25 – \nArrive WW&F Railroad at 9 am \nBring a lunch \, snacks\, drinks\, with you. Wiscasset is about 5 miles away if lunch needed. \nConclude at 4 pm \nHead for home

SUMMARY:Editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic- Hunt's Photo\, Melrose
DESCRIPTION:Please note: This course does not cover file management or importing images into the program. To learn how to do that\, check out our Lightroom File Management courses. \nThis is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! In Week 1\, we’ll start with the basic adjustments using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. We’ll then dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. In Week 2\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including local adjustments\, such as radial and graduated filters\, and how to “finish” the image- sharpening\, noise reduction\, and more.\nIn-between each session\, we will give assignments to help you become more proficient and grasp the material! This class is strongly recommended for anyone looking to further their skills with Lightroom! \n \nAn important note about this course! There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now. This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as “Adobe Lightroom CC” (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. The look and feel of the program is completely different– This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. (See graphic on the right.) If you are unsure\, feel free to email us at classes@huntsphoto.com. Important: If you are taking this course\, make sure to download/update the program in advance\, as you will not be able to download the program at the store. Older versions\, such as Lightroom 5 or 6\, are also acceptable\, though not all functions will be available. \n \nCurious which Adobe plan to get? We recommend the 20GB Photography Plan\, detailed in the screenshot on the left. You can find it here!
