DESCRIPTION:How do you choose the best spots to photograph birds? I will be introducing apps that help you to decide where and when to go.  This includes radar forecasts of night migration flights and a global wind App you can use during seasonal migration?or any time to see when rare birds might get blown off course and where they are likely to end up.  I will also share how to get the most out of eBird and listserv postings. We will talk about how to use familiar apps such as Google maps to find good habitats for specialized species and clues to find spots with the best lighting. Armed with these apps\, you can get better results from your favorite spots\, plan a trip to an unfamiliar location\, and discover nearby spots that you might not have thought to check.\nBio: Reed is a birder and wildlife photographer from Portland. DESCRIPTION:In this hands-on workshop\, Emilie Talpin\, OM SYSTEM Ambassador\, will guide you through macro techniques to get sharper images and help you set up your shots.  This workshop will start with a brief presentation on macro photography\, camera settings and techniques as well as composition tips and light diffusion. This workshop is open to all levels (beginner to advanced).  You will be able to play with different subjects like flowers\, refractions\, small objects and navigate through the various tables set up to try different genres.\nBio:\nEmilie Talpin is an OM-SYSTEM (Olympus) ambassador\, who grew up in Chalon sur Sa?ne\, France\, the birthplace of Nic?phore Ni?pce and the first photograph. Despite this background\, she got into photography very late and in 2018 joined a local camera club where she met a group of talented photographers and was inspired to dive deeper into the art of capturing moments in time. Now\, everywhere she goes\, it is with her trusted OM-1 camera by her side. Lately\, she has been concentrating on wildlife and macro photography\, in particular water drop refraction\, but will occasionally stray with friends to an astro or landscape photoshoot.
