SUMMARY:The Hunt's Photo Wedding Photography Workshop 2024
DESCRIPTION:This event is sponsored by Canon!\nHunt’s Photo Education proudly presents our second Wedding Photography Workshop! The centerpiece of this workshop will be a full-day\, hands-on\, stylized/mock wedding shoot at the beautiful Olio industrial wedding venue in Peabody\, MA. Photographers will be led by Hunt’s Photo Educator Rebecca Cee\, a local wedding photographer who has photographed well over 100 weddings\, along with wedding photographer Tessa Klingensmith. Rebecca and Tessa have a combined experience of over ten years photographing weddings. Attendees will learn everything from the proper equipment and technical skills to navigate a wedding day successfully. In addition\, photographers will learn the importance of client communication\, marketing strategy\, and the back end of running a wedding photography business.\nAnyone that registers for this workshop will also be able to attend our 2-part online Wedding Photography class sessions for no additional charge! These classes will not only provide a substantial background for our workshop\, but also help build more of an understanding of what goes into each wedding! \nFinally\, all attendees will be able to submit a handful of their final\, edited images to Rebecca for individualized image reviews. \nWhat is included: \nWedding Workshop Day Shoot includes: \n• Two REAL couples (not models) in full wedding-day dress\, hair\, and makeup \n• Dynamic Posing Instruction \n• Decorated industrial chic venue at Olio in Peabody. Ceremony space will be fully decorated. You will have access to the majority of the areas in Olio\, and\, weather permitting\, outdoor areas \n• Mock decorated dinner table and cake \n• Champagne Tower (!!!) \n• Colorful Florals \n• Flat Lays with accessories \n• Strobes/Lighting and triggers for use in venue \n• 3-4 instructors; maximum 8 attendees per instructor \n• Video (DSLR or mirrorless) instruction \n• A light lunch and refreshments for attendees \n• Full use of images for your portfolio — You will walk away from this workshop with portfolio-worthy images! \n• Networking with Industry Professionals– We will have representatives for hair\, make-up\, and florals \nRegistration also includes: \n• A 2-part online Wedding Photography class- The Basics (Thursday April 18th) and the Business (Thursday April 25th) of Wedding Photography \n• Personal Image Review after workshop \nWho Should Register\nThis workshop is an excellent opportunity for photographers that are looking to start out in wedding photography\, as well as photographers that have a few weddings under their belt and are looking to get more focused information. This workshop is at an intermediate level and photographers should have a working knowledge of their camera as well as an understanding of exposure\, aperture\, shutter speed\, and ISO. A basic knowledge of external lighting is also strongly recommended. \nDetails About the Stylized\, Mock Shoot\nWe will provide all of the basics elements of the wedding-day experience\, including two couples\, the cake\, the floral arrangements\, the venue\, the tux and the gown! \nSponsored by Canon Cameras and Lenses\nThis event is sponsored by Canon\, but ALL photographers\, regardless what camera you have\, are encouraged to attend. Canon loaner gear (cameras and lenses) will be available and free to loan for ANYONE interested! Canon Tech reps will also be on-site for the day! \nAbout our venue\, Olio \nOlio is a wonderfully unique space. It has an industrial feel\, with concrete walls and massive ceilings\, but it retains the warm\, wooden charm of an early-20th century vaudeville theater from which the space originates. (From their website:) “This historic space has been outfitted with every modern amenity to be the ideal space to host functions of all kinds.  We provide a non-traditional venue so that our clients have a blank slate to start from and can make the space their own. Without any décor\, the soaring ceilings and cement walls feel “industrial chic” but clients can transform the space with glitz and glam\, rustic touches\, romantic lighting\, modern lines\, whimsical details\, and vintage furniture.  If you can dream it\, it can be done at Olio.” \nOlio can be a dream to photograph in\, but it can also pose challenges from a lighting perspective. Our workshop will\, in part\, aim to demonstrate how to effectively photograph in this space! \nTentative Schedule of the Day: \n• Introductions\, tour of the venue and how to approach it to photograph\, basic settings and considerations\n• Detail shots\n• Bridal portraits and Groom portraits \n• First look \n• Couple Portraits\n• Wedding ceremony\n• Reception basics and more\n• Wrap up \nTopics Covered\n• Camera settings for different lighting situations\n• Shooting techniques for outdoor and indoor weddings\n• Composition and framing techniques\n• Essential camera gear and accessories\n• Recommendations for back-up equipment\n• Overview of lighting equipment\n• Hair and Makeup details\n• Detail shots (cake\, rings\, bouquet)\n• Tips for capturing candid moments\n• Techniques for shooting group photos and portraits \nRequired Equipment\n• Your camera and a standard zoom lens is a good starting point\n• If you have a second camera body\, it is recommended to bring it.\n• Prime Lenses are an excellent option\, but remember that Canon will also have gear available to loan\, if you want to try anything!\n• Bring extra camera batteries and memory cards\n• A Notebook and writing utensil is a good idea!
