DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have 10-15 attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nLandscape Photography\nLandscape photography is one of the most easily accessible genres of photography and is enjoyed by many. What does it take to create a landscape image that stands out? Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we go beyond “F8 and be there” and dive deep into the technical\, artistic\, and practical aspects of landscape photography.\nIn week one\, we’ll cover what it takes to plan and the settings necessary for your best shots. We’ll also talk about the gear all landscape photographers should have in their bags and what to do when the weather just won’t cooperate. In week two\, we’ll edit landscape images from start to finish using Adobe Lightroom Classic. By week three\, we’ll discuss composition\, dynamic range\, depth of field\, and focus. We’ll also discuss when to shoot in color and when to shoot in black and white. In our last week\, we’ll cover shooting and editing HDR images and panorama images in Adobe Lightroom Classic. We’ll also cover shooting landscapes at night as well as astrolandscapes. Each week\, Emily will give an assignment to hone your new skills and each student will receive individualized critiques. I was really impressed with the whole experience. Great instructors!!?\n?Everything was condensed and taught at a basic level which helped with the confusion I had before coming to class. Bottom Line: Great class for confused beginners.?\n?Everything about this class was excellent. The instructors were patient and took time to answer every question thoroughly and we were given ample time to try out the techniques we were being shown. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Filter Workshop: Using Filters in the Field with Waterfalls
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a morning of learning what filters we want to use in photography\, how to use them\, and then go out into the field to get some hands-on practice!\nWe will begin in our Hunt’s Photo Manchester classroom to learn about filters\, how to use them properly\, how to attach them to the camera\, and\, if applicable\, purchase filters. We will then travel a short distance to a NEW location (about 20-25 minutes away) to our waterfall location to practice long exposures. (Please note: Our location is TBA. To minimize confusion\, we will let you know in the reminder email a few days prior to the event.)  UV\, Circular Polarizer (CPL)\, and Neutral Density (ND) filters are all recommended. Students may choose to shoot from the banks of the river\, but the best shots will happen by walking along some rocks. Waterproof boots are your friend!\nWhether you’ve used filters and still have questions\, you’ve never used filters\, or you need a little inspiration\, this is a great opportunity to have some fun with filters!

Boston’s Chinatown is quite small in size\, but has many unique sites and is the last remaining historic Chinese area in New England. Downtown Crossing is home to street vendors and a myriad number of shopping establishments with bright lights. Sandwiched in between is the Theater District of Boston. All three provide excellent opportunities to photograph the unique architecture and people of the area. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.

In each of these classes\, we will have limited attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nEditing in Adobe Lightroom\nThis is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for this three-week course that helps answer many of these questions. What’s most important about this course is that we will give weekly editing assignments\, and we will review those edits at the start of the following week. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Frank Lloyd Wright at the Currier Museum of Art
DESCRIPTION:Join Emily Hojnowski\, Lead Educator and Frank Lloyd Wright fan girl\, for a morning of architecture and art! We’ll begin the day at the Currier Museum of Art where we will be given a private tour of the two Frank Lloyd Wright homes in Manchester\, NH–the Zimmerman House and the Kalil House–both built in the 1950s and recently acquired by the Currier Museum. We will spend approximately two hours on our tours and have enthusiastic and knowledgeable docents to give us all the inside scoop on the homes. After our tour\, we will spend our remaining time exploring the Currier Museum\, independently working on refining compositional techniques. This workshop is an excellent opportunity to work on architectural\, fine art\, and low light photography. Emily will be there to guide you every step of the way and make sure you get all your best images!

SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop: Urban Portraits with Natural Light (or Flash!)
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be utilizing the natural\, urban environment to work into our portraits. Brick buildings and cityscapes will all work into our compositions as we create a more working class feel in our portraits–a very unique look. To a certain extent\, these will be environmental portraits where the environment plays a role in creating the scene. Utilizing your environment in photographs is key to creating a fun portrait shoot! We will emphasize creating these portraits using available light through subject placement and composition with the aid of diffusers and reflectors. We will then separately demonstrate reasons to add in flash.\nWe will begin photographing late afternoon in the sunlight (and shade) and work to sunset in the picturesque brick of downtown Lowell. We will be using both Westcott (FJ80\, FJ200\, FJ400) and Godox (AD200) strobes/flashes as well as Westcott diffusers\, both of which are excellent brands for creating stunning portraits.\nThis workshop will be co-taught by Hunt’s Photo Educator Paul Nelson and professional photographer Henry Marte. Both have extensive portrait experience and will take you through the full process\, from naturally lighting a subject\, to how to properly expose while using strobes\, to how to actually use the strobes themselves!\nPhotographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. \nAbout Henry Marte\nHenry is a published photographer and credited filmmaker. He specializes in various forms of photography\, including portrait\, events\, headshots\, drone\, and commercial photography. Other than attending MassArt’s Documentary Film School\, he is almost entirely self taught. He runs a small media production studio called Marte Media\, based out of Western Avenue Studios in Lowell. Some of his clients include Spartan Race\, UMass Lowell\, Phillips Academy\, Navigation Brewing Company\, and more. Originally from NYC\, he now calls Lowell\, Massachusetts his home. He enjoys New York style pizza\, walks with a camera\, and hiking to active volcanoes.

Images of city skylines and urban landscapes show the passage of time in a unique way as the life advances year after year. \nEmily Hojnowski of Hunt’s Photo Education will share the various techniques she utilizes to capture breathtaking images of cities. We’ll discuss when to shoot for the best light\, how to use filters and other gear to accentuate effects\, and the key factors in composing cityscapes. We’ll also discuss the best methods when shooting waterfront scenes as well as how to incorporate city life into your images. \nYou will also have the opportunity to take part in the second session– an image review. Those that register for both sessions will be given an assignment to submit for session 2. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the “Walk” portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “Intentional Camera Movement”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. SUMMARY:Online: Multi-Session Series- Editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic Pt 3
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our new Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have limited attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nEditing in Adobe Lightroom\nThis is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for this three-week course that helps answer many of these questions. What’s most important about this course is that we will give weekly editing assignments\, and we will review those edits at the start of the following week. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nIn week one\, we’ll talk about file types and adjustment ranges using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. In week two\, we’ll dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. Finally\, in week three\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including Sharpening\, HDR\, Pano stitching and more.\nEach week\, we will give an assignment and students will upload their edited photos prior to the next class. We will\, by and large\, be working with your images in the class.\nThis class is strongly recommended for anyone either looking to just get started with editing\, or to fine-tune your editing skills!\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 24 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure! During each class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Question box if you have specific questions as they are asked. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Baxter State Park
DESCRIPTION:The Great North Woods of Maine is a spectacular sight at any time of year. Baxter State Park\, located near Millinocket\, Maine\, defines wilderness in New England. With over a quarter of a million acres of untouched forest and lakes\, there are numerous photo opportunities for nature and outdoor photographers of every skill level. Our stay will feature beautiful blooming spring colors as well as opportunities to photograph deer\, moose\, and a variety of birds.\nEach day there will be strong emphasis placed on technique\, depth of field\, composition\, lens selection\, and subject development. Attendees benefit from hands on instruction as well as classroom discussions and critique sessions.\nThis an all-inclusive workshop. We will lodge and dine at a beautiful family run inn The Big Moose Inn just outside of Baxter State Park. Meals\, lodging\, and workshop fee are all included. \nSkill Sets: All Levels of Photographers are Welcome \nPhysical Activity: Medium.
