SUMMARY:Online: Personal Vision Series- A Sense of Motion
DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Tuesday May 6th\, 7pm EST\nImage Review – Tuesday May 20th\, 7pm EST \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education as we help grow your knowledge\, creativity\, and artistic expression with our expanded Personal Vision Series. These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the “Walk” portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “A Sense of Motion”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment. Your personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. Join us for to help grow that voice!

It eliminates the need to stop down the aperture\, thereby avoiding diffraction and ensuring maximum image clarity.  \nFrame Averaging \nFrame Averaging offers a powerful solution for creating long exposure effects in broad daylight—without the need for ND filters. By averaging multiple frames\, it not only simulates long exposures but also significantly reduces image noise. When completed\, a single standard size image is created!  This allows photographers to concentrate on composition and creativity\, free from technical constraints. \n(Photo above ©Paul Reiffer)

SUMMARY:Hunt's Expo Seminars: Before you Edit- Why Filters Still Matter in Digital Photography with NiSi
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an eye-opening exploration of how neutral density and polarizing filters remain essential tools in modern photography. In this engaging presentation\, Jim Reisman from NiSi Optics USA will demonstrate how these filters help photographers master exposure\, achieve stunning long-exposure shots\, and create images with unparalleled vibrance—effects that simply can’t be replicated in post-processing.\n\nBut ND and polarizers are just the beginning. We’ll also touch on the creative impact of special effects filters\, such as Black Mist and other filters. How they can add cinematic depth\, soften highlights\, and enhance atmosphere in a way that software alone cannot achieve.\n\nWith so many filter options and mounting systems available\, choosing the right one can be overwhelming. This session will also break down the different filter systems—magnetic\, screw-in\, and square—to help you determine what best suits your photography style and workflow.\n\nWhether you’re looking to enhance landscapes\, portraits\, or cinematic visuals\, filters remain an essential tool for photographers at all levels. This presentation will provide both technical insight and creative inspiration to help you make the most of these powerful tools.

SUMMARY:Waltham Expo Seminar: Film Changed Everything with Levi Cyr-Redcross
DESCRIPTION:Film Changed Everything is a personal and inspiring lecture about the creative transformation that happens when you slow down and shoot with intention. Levi Cyr-Redcross shares their journey with film photography—the early missteps\, the quiet moments behind the lens\, and how analog tools helped them reconnect with their voice as an artist. \nThis talk isn’t about technical settings—it’s about process\, permission\, and the quiet magic of making art that feels honest. It’s a reflection on imperfection\, curiosity\, and the creative freedom that can only come from letting go of perfection. \nFilm didn’t just reconnect Levi with their creative self—it also connected them to a greater community. What began as a solo practice became a shared experience: trading rolls\, swapping scans\, meeting artists\, and forging relationships rooted in slowness\, intention\, and analog joy. Film photography created a space for Levi to connect more deeply—with their work\, with others\, and with the world around them. \nWhether you’re a digital artist looking for a reset\, a creative stuck in a rut\, or someone simply curious about the power of film\, this lecture is an invitation to see photography—and creative expression itself—in a new light. \n\nAbout Levi:\nLevi Cyr-Redcross is a content creator and photographer that takes pictures in the Boston area. SUMMARY:Online: Multi-Session Series- Working with Landscape Photography (Pt 4)
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have 10-15 attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nLandscape Photography\nLandscape photography is one of the most easily accessible genres of photography and is enjoyed by many. What does it take to create a landscape image that stands out? Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we go beyond “F8 and be there” and dive deep into the technical\, artistic\, and practical aspects of landscape photography.\nIn week one\, we’ll cover what it takes to plan and the settings necessary for your best shots. We’ll also talk about the gear all landscape photographers should have in their bags and what to do when the weather just won’t cooperate. In week two\, we’ll edit landscape images from start to finish using Adobe Lightroom Classic. By week three\, we’ll discuss composition\, dynamic range\, depth of field\, and focus. We’ll also discuss when to shoot in color and when to shoot in black and white. In our last week\, we’ll cover shooting and editing HDR images and panorama images in Adobe Lightroom Classic. We’ll also cover shooting landscapes at night as well as astrolandscapes. Each week\, Emily will give an assignment to hone your new skills and each student will receive individualized critiques. Emily is also available to answer any questions along the way.\nJoin us for this fun and unique multi-session series that will help you develop your skills with landscapes!\nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 24 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure! During each class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Question box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end.\n?You Are Being Recorded? (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don?t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included\, we will send it out with the link for the video.\nNo online classes should be shared and cannot be shared in a public environment\, including with camera clubs\nThe online content is the copyright of Hunt’s Photo Education and/or the Instructor.
