If you’re just starting out\, learn some of the basics like aperture\, shutter speed\, focus\, exposure\, and composition!  If you have a little bit of experience\, you’ll have the chance to learn more advanced techniques\, such as lighting\, building set-ups\, story telling\, fine-tuning exposure and composition\, and even focus stacking! We’ll also cover how to use macro lenses and extension tubes and more!\nWe will be bringing lots of flowers to photograph. However\, we find in our macro workshops that our attendees value shooting some things of their own as much if not more than what we bring. Join Hunt’s Photo Education as we walk you through all the things you should consider before purchasing a new lens.\nUnderstanding more about cameras and lenses is a necessity to improving your flexibility when photographing in a variety of situations. This course is designed to help you feel more comfortable about what lenses should be used in different situations. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nEditing in Adobe Lightroom\nThis is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. DESCRIPTION:The coast of Maine is distinctive\, beautiful\, and highly photogenic. The many small towns of Mid Coast Maine are home to a dramatic shoreline\, quaint fishing harbors\, and dramatic lighthouses. Over the course of this short weekend workshop\, we will photograph Pemaquid Point Lighthouse at sunset and other locations along the coast. We will also photograph the Wiscasset Steam Railway for one of its steam train events.\nEach location we will photograph makes for a dynamic destination that will challenge photographers of every skill level.

We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. We recommend taking this class prior to Digital Photography Basics 2\, which is the next logical step! \nJoin us to start learning about Digital Photography! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information. \nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. DESCRIPTION:Introduction on Comparing Papers- Wednesday March 4th\, 6:30pm ET • Online! \nPrint Review- Wednesday March 11th\, 6:30pm ET • Hunt’s Melrose or Online! \nThe printed image shows our successes and our faults at a much higher level of detail than the digital image. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product. \nThis Month’s Printed Vision Session: Printing Flowers! \nEveryone wants to print flowers. There is such a mass appeal of flowers for such obvious reasons\, including their impermanence and their vibrancy of color. Therefore\, it only makes sense that flowers should be printed to display that level of vibrance for a long period of time! In this session\, we will focus our energies on not only the editing process\, but choosing the right surface of paper and size of paper. Among the topics discussed matte vs. glossy papers\, the importance of textured papers\, the illusive rice papers and natural/eco-friendly papers\, printing with borders and considering creating alternative borders\, and more! We will really be digging deep to think about what we are doing\, why we’re doing it\, and what we want to do! \nThis Print Review topic will meet for two sessions. In the first session\, we will discuss the topic– some of the key differences between paper surfaces– and present a variety of options for you to have your image printed. In between sessions 1 and 2\, attendees will independently process 1-2 images and submit them to the instructor for printing. Educator Paul Nelson will produce a recorded image review\, discussing paper options\, editing suggestions\, and more\, to be sent back to you leading up to the second session. Paul will then print images for the class. In the end\, you will receive a print of one of your edited images up to 13×19″ in size. (Please note: We are happy to make a larger or additional print outside of the class for an additional fee!) \nJoin us for an informative Printed Review class! \nA Note About The Printed Review Series \nOur Print Review Monthly is a chance to continue the print conversation over the course of many months. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Birding Along the Space Coast
DESCRIPTION:Florida is considered by many to be a mecca of bird photography.  In addition to the abundance of birdlife in the state\, the birds are quite approachable and easy to photograph. We will explore some prime birding locations\, including the famed Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and the Orlando Wetlands.  But in addition to these bird photography locations\, there are several other lesser-known\, nearby sites where the photography is simply spectacular.  This trip will occur at a time of year when many birds will be in breeding plumage (and exhibiting some breeding behavior).  You can expect to photograph a variety of species including; egrets\, herons\, ibis\, terns\, plovers\, gallinules\, oystercatchers\, osprey\, pelicans\, wood storks\, roseate spoonbills\, ducks\, black skimmers and much more. \nWe will maximize our time in the field shooting a multitude of subjects as well as incorporating classroom instruction\, critiques\, and photographic discussion each day. \nGeneral Itinerary:\nArrive March 9. Check into hotel in by 2pm. Meet\, Greet\, Sunset Shoot\nMarch 10\, 11\, 12\, 13 – Daily excursions to birding locations dependent upon light and weather\nLeave March 14. Check out of Hotel by 11am \nWhat’s included:\n•Daily excursions in and around locations in Florida\n•In-field instruction at each location\n•Image Discussion \nWhat’s not included:\n•Cost of hotel (We will be staying at Days Inn by Wyndham Titusville Kennedy Space Center\, 3755 Cheney Hwy\, Titusville\, FL\, 321-362-6077)\n•Transportation to and from Florida\, as well as in the field. Flights should be scheduled for early to mid-afternoon.\nPlease note: Due to the variety of times attendees will be arriving\, we will be unable to pick up attendees from the airport\, which is about 45 minutes away.
