SUMMARY:Print Review Monthly
DESCRIPTION:About The Printed Review Monthly \nThe printed image shows our successes and our faults at a much higher level of detail than the digital image. To become better photographers\, it helps to understand this by creating the printed image as a final product. \nOur Print Review Monthly is a chance to continue the print conversation over the course of many months. The concept of these classes is similar to our Printed Vision Series Classes: Attendees will independently process 1-2 images and upload them to the instructor for review. The instructor will send back a video image review which will discuss how to improve the image to make it “print ready”\, including exposure\, focus\, composition\, and especially paper selection. The instructor will then print one of the images to be displayed in the Print Review\, which will take place both in-person and online\, in case you cannot attend live. In the end of each session\, you will end up with a print up to 13×19” on Fine Art paper to take home with you. (We print on Moab\, Hahnemuhle\, and Canson fine art papers.) \nFor this class\, you can either choose a single session OR sign up for three months at a discounted rate.  You do not need to attend 3 consecutive sessions and may attend whenever it’s convenient. Choosing this option is excellent to keep the printing conversation going! However\, please note that the sessions expire after one year. (If you end up not being able to attend all the sessions\, you can also exchange a session for an additional print!) \nThese sessions are excellent for anyone: \n• Someone that wants a little help with editing before they get a print \n• Someone that does print but has print-related questions \n• A person that prints often and wants to try a different paper \n• Someone with no knowledge of printing that just wants to get a print! \n  \nCome check out why printing is the best thing to do for your photography! \n  \nReceiving Your Print\nAfter the class\, your print can either be mailed to you or picked up at one of our Hunt’s Photo store locations. \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to upload images for the image review\, and the link to get into the online class. (You won’t need this if you’re attending live.) If you sign up for the bundle of three sessions\, we will send out updates monthly with new upload and class links. \n“You Are Being Recorded” (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don’t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: An Evening in Rockport
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education on a late afternoon/sunset walk of Rockport and its harbor\, Bearskin Neck\, and other points of interest. On this walk\, we will discuss exposure\, subject development\, image composition\, Black & White Photography and more. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.\nRockport is a premiere destination for photographers. The town is an eclectic mix of unique storefronts\, a beautiful harbor\, boats\, and a rich fishing tradition that offers a wide variety of photographic subjects.\nThis walk is an excellent opportunity both for those just starting out as well as the well-seasoned photographer. For those starting out\, there are many excellent opportunities to work on composition and subject development\, and also see how the light changes and affects your photographs throughout the evening. For the well-seasoned photographer\, Rockport has just so much of interest to offer that you can work on creating more complex compositions and other advanced themes in your work. This is truly one of the best places at any level to photograph.

SUMMARY:Online: Personal Vision Series- Inspired by Edward Hopper
DESCRIPTION:Introductory Presentation Wednesday August 21st\, 7pm EST\nImage Review Wednesday September 4th\, 7pm EST \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education as we help grow your knowledge\, creativity\, and artistic expression with our expanded Personal Vision Series. These classes are designed to provide you time\, opportunity\, and guidance in shaping your creative photographic voice. We will give an overview on a specific topic in an online class session\, then give you time to go into the field by yourself (or with someone else\, if you choose) to complete an assignment based on that topic. We will reconvene a few days later for an online image review to discuss elements of your images.\nThe Personal Vision Series is a crossroads of many different ideas that we offer with Hunt’s Photo Education: Topic-based instruction/classes\, Photo Walks\, & Image Reviews. However\, unlike a Photo Walk where we will all take a certain direction\, for the “Walk” portion\, you will be asked to journey out on your own to photograph. This will cause you to be the driving force of your creativity and vision!\nThis month’s topic is “Inspired by Edward Hopper”. We will have an instructional online presentation on the first date and will reconvene for our Image Review on the second date. You will have that time period in between to photograph and edit our assignment. Your personal creative voice is critical to your growth as a photographer and as an artist. Join us for to help grow that voice!

SUMMARY:Multi-Session Series- Adobe Lightroom Classic- File Management & Editing (Part 3)- Hunt's Photo\, Melrose
DESCRIPTION:This is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. How do we organize our photos? What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we ?step it up? and figure out what to we?re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are ?good? or ?correct?. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nThis is a Multi-Session Class! In Week 1\, we will begin by discussing how to organize your images for quick retrieval via keywords\, ratings\, and more\, as well as giving a description on how to consider organizing your photos on your computer. Specifically\, we will cover brief computer file management\, the importance of keywords\, flagging and rating photos\, and searching metadata to find images. In Week 2\, we?ll start with the basic adjustments using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. We?ll then dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. In Week 3\, we?ll discuss advanced editing\, including local adjustments\, such as radial and graduated filters\, and how to ?finish? the image- sharpening\, noise reduction\, and more.\nIn-between each session\, we will give assignments to help you become more proficient and grasp the material! This class is strongly recommended for anyone looking to further their skills with Lightroom!\nAn important note about this course! There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now. This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as ?Adobe Lightroom CC? (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. The look and feel of the program is completely different? This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. (See graphic on the right.) If you are unsure\, feel free to email us at classes@huntsphoto.com. Important: If you are taking this course\, make sure to download/update the program in advance\, as you will not be able to download the program at the store. Older versions\, such as Lightroom 5 or 6\, are also acceptable\, though not all functions will be available.

SUMMARY:Online: Multi-Session Series- Editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic Pt 2
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our new Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have limited attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nEditing in Adobe Lightroom\nThis is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for this three-week course that helps answer many of these questions. What’s most important about this course is that we will give weekly editing assignments\, and we will review those edits at the start of the following week. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nIn week one\, we’ll talk about file types and adjustment ranges using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. In week two\, we’ll dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. Finally\, in week three\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including Sharpening\, HDR\, Pano stitching and more.\nEach week\, we will give an assignment and students will upload their edited photos prior to the next class. We will\, by and large\, be working with your images in the class.\nThis class is strongly recommended for anyone either looking to just get started with editing\, or to fine-tune your editing skills!\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 24 hours prior to the class time with that same information.\nLayout of the class\nThe class will begin promptly at the time listed. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure! During each class\, you are welcome to type in questions in the Question box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions\, but if not\, feel free to ask them at the end.\n?You Are Being Recorded? (And Other Note Related Items)\nWe will be recording this class! The video will be available for download about 24-hours after the class for all attendees\, so don?t worry about taking unending notes. We will send this link attendees to download and rewatch at any time. In addition to this\, we will generally send out a PDF of the presentation (when applicable) and handouts on the topic. If handouts and PDFs are included\, we will send it out with the link for the video.\nNo online classes should be shared and cannot be shared in a public environment\, including with camera clubs\nThe online content is the copyright of Hunt’s Photo Education and/or the Instructor. SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop: Portraits in Action
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education and Westcott lighting representative JC Carey for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be creating dynamic lighting scenarios involving athletes\, both posed and in motion! Attendees will learn about how to create amazing portraits using a mixture of natural light and flash\, understand subject placement\, when and why to use strobes (and where to place them)\, and will end up with some excellent portfolio-building images! \nThis workshop will be co-taught with Hunt’s Photo Education’s Paul Nelson and Westcott lighting representative JC Carey.  We will use Westcott strobes and have a series of student/athlete-models available for the shoot. \nJoin us for a fun and dynamic workshop! \nJoseph “JC” Carey is a lifetime image maker that like so many photographers was terrified of lighting until he was gifted with a lighting class in 2007. The class wasn’t very good\, but it lit a fire. That gift changed everything. It transformed him from someone that barely took pictures of people and knew nothing about lighting into someone still trying to figure out how to light everything.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: A Summer Muse in Central Maine
DESCRIPTION:Summer is a time of outdoor activity for farmers\, families\, and communities.  Many communities host events such as fairs that provide education\, entertainment\, and a sense of community to any and all visitors.  Skowhegan Maine has hosted the Skowhegan State Fair since 1818.  For over two hundred year’s\, farmers have gathered here to learn aspects of farming\, share their knowledge\, and show off their skills.  For nearly as long\, families have flocked to the Fair to witness first hand the traditions of farming and agriculture.  The results are an eclectic mix of people and activities that set the stage for exciting photography. \nOur Weekend Thesis: \nThe Fair\, and all of its activities\, are centered around farming\, people\, and families.   Our goal will be to capture the essence and spirit of the Skowhegan State Fair through a pictorial essay.  Each attendee will create images as they see and feel the event as a whole.   \n  \nThe Skowhegan State Fair \nFounded in 1818\, the Skowhegan State Fair is one of the oldest agricultural fairs in the country.  On the fair grounds\, there will be many vendors\, displays\, and contests to inform\, educate\, and entertain the thousands of people and families that attend the fair.  Typically\, there are activities such as livestock competitions\, tractor pulls\, live music\, a demolition derby\, food\, games of chance\, and more that we will photograph. \n\nWe will work on telling the story of the Skowhegan State Fair\nWe will photograph people\, livestock\, buildings\, emotion\, and action\nWe will work with color\nWe will work with monochrome\nWe will work with great depth of field\nWe will work with narrow depth of field\nWe will take our time and be patient\nWe will work to find our creative voice\n\n  \nTo further push your creative ideas\, vision\, and boundaries there will be an online image review of 4 images each on Sept 4th.  The images you submit must be fully edited final images for sharing\, discussion\, and critique. \nDuring our time in Skowhegan we may visit other locations (such as an apple orchard or downtown Skowhegan) to add to our creative experience. \nBreakfast will be locally in a coffee shop.  Lunches will be at the Fairgrounds.  Dinners will be at local restaurants.

SUMMARY:Multi-Session Series- Adobe Lightroom Classic- File Management & Editing (Part 2)- Hunt's Photo\, Melrose

SUMMARY:Online: Multi-Session Series- Editing in Adobe Lightroom Classic
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our new Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. SUMMARY:Multi-Session Series- Adobe Lightroom Classic- File Management & Editing- Hunt's Photo\, Melrose
Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for a course that helps answer many of these questions. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. In Week 2\, we’ll start with the basic adjustments using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. We’ll then dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. In Week 3\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including local adjustments\, such as radial and graduated filters\, and how to “finish” the image- sharpening\, noise reduction\, and more.\nIn-between each session\, we will give assignments to help you become more proficient and grasp the material! This class is strongly recommended for anyone looking to further their skills with Lightroom! \n \nAn important note about this course! There are now a few different versions of Adobe Lightroom right now. This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. The other version of Lightroom\, commonly known as “Adobe Lightroom CC” (yes\, we understand you may be confused by this) is a more mobile and cloud-based program. The look and feel of the program is completely different– This course is specifically on Adobe Lightroom Classic. \n \nCurious which Adobe plan to get? We recommend the 20GB Photography Plan\, detailed in the screenshot on the left. You can find it here!
