SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Experience: Flattering Portraits with Bobbi Lane
DESCRIPTION:The photographer needs to possess the lighting\, posing\, and communication skills to create “flattering portraits” consistently\, on demand.  This presentation will cover “corrective techniques” or how to make “real” people look good. For example: wide or thin faces\, crooked or big noses\, glasses\, wrinkles or scars\, lazy eyes\, deep set eyes\, receding hair\, etc. This workshop will cover lighting\, both flattering and effective\, posing for maximum impact\, choosing color or black and white\, and how to set the mood. It will also cover communication skills for helping your subject relax and be authentic\, and also for guiding them to expressions that match the mood and lighting are explored in detail. \nThere will be a brief opportunity towards the end of the session for attendees to photograph each other. DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for our new Multi-Session Series. In our Multi-Session Series\, we will meet over the course of a number of weeks\, generally at the same time each week. During that time\, we will discuss a specific element of a topic and end the session by giving a photographic assignment. That assignment will be due for completion before the next class meeting\, and we will review those images at the start of the next session. If for some reason you cannot attend one of the sessions\, don’t worry! They will be recorded and you will be able to watch them at your leisure!\nOur Multi-Session Series is designed to “keep the conversation going” by engaging with our attendees in a more personal way. In each of these classes\, we will have limited attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nEditing in Adobe Lightroom\nThis is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for this three-week course that helps answer many of these questions. What’s most important about this course is that we will give weekly editing assignments\, and we will review those edits at the start of the following week. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. While those terms are subjective\, we will help you along in the editing process to see how to make determinations along the way.\nIn week one\, we’ll talk about file types and adjustment ranges using Basic Development controls. More than anything\, we will be emphasizing global changes and understanding what can be done with an image in Lightroom. In week two\, we’ll dive into Color\, Curves\, Contrast & Clarity & Texture. These changes will help make your images pop. Finally\, in week three\, we’ll discuss advanced editing\, including Sharpening\, HDR\, Pano stitching and more.\nEach week\, we will give an assignment and students will upload their edited photos prior to the next class. DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description\nLocated in Eastern Utah is the small town of Moab. The landscape here embodies the look and feel of the American West. Given its location between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park\, Moab is a prime destination for all levels of photographers. SUMMARY:Hunt's Portrait Workshop: Lighting on Location featuring Dia De Los Muertos (and more)
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for another entry in our series of portrait workshops where we will be showing how to light on location using natural light and supplemental light\, whether it’s flash or LED! We will utilize the natural environment of our location to work into our portraits\, and then\, when necessary\, use lights to make it something spectacular. This workshop is a great opportunity for both beginner and intermediate photographers\, as we’ll build examples of where to place subjects\, when to use lighting\, and what lighting we think works best for that environment. (Lighting will be provided!) \nOur workshop will take place at the Western Ave Studios in Lowell\, which has many unique indoor and outdoor elements that will work well for our portraits. We will also be featuring a theme– Dia De Los Muertos–where some of our models will be made up and dressed in the style shown here. In each of these classes\, we will have limited attendees and provide direct feedback on images. We encourage photographers of all skill levels to consider these classes\, as they will build upon your experience and provide an excellent chance to work on your imagery!\nEditing in Adobe Lightroom\nThis is a great opportunity to build up your editing skills in Lightroom!\nAdobe Lightroom is the choice program for professionals and amateurs\, with ever-growing capabilities and options. However\, there are many levels to understanding in the program. What do we do to make basic changes? Once we learn those changes\, how can we “step it up” and figure out what to we’re supposed to do? How do we make images pop? And finally\, how do we put it all together and making finishing touches to our images.\nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for this three-week course that helps answer many of these questions. What’s most important about this course is that we will give weekly editing assignments\, and we will review those edits at the start of the following week. Often\, Lightroom users struggle with the inability to determine what changes are “good” or “correct”. SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Wild Horses in Utah
DESCRIPTION:Workshop Description \nJoin Hunt’s Photo Education for our annual adventure to photograph the Wild Horses of Utah! Join us as we search out and photograph one of the largest herds of wild horses in Utah!\nThis is a unique photography workshop right out of “The Old West”! Wild Horses have occupied this mountainous region of Utah since the late 1800’s. The herd is approximately 200 – 250 horses and is the largest herd of wild horses in the west. Mares and stallions average around 800 to 1000 pounds. The colors within the herd are brown\, bay\, paint\, sorrel\, roan\, buckskin\, black\, palomino\, and gray. The variety is endless due to the frequent breeding within the herd. There are many foal\, yearlings and colts that roam with the herd. The horses are in good condition and are frequently seen in the vicinity of the Pony Express Trail in the valley floor. On this workshop\, we will photograph the wild horses as well as other local scenes and wildlife.\nOn this workshop\, you will want to bring a variety of lenses\, from wide-angle to super-telephoto. The distance to your subjects can vary\, as the horses can be right next to you or far in the distance\, but it is certainly recommended to consider bringing a super-telephoto in the range of 500-600mm. DESCRIPTION:Mt. Auburn Cemetery is one of Massachusetts’s most beautiful green spaces. This large\, rolling parcel of land was America?s first garden-style cemetery. The historical 174-acre cemetery serves as a final resting place for the deceased\, but it is also an arboretum full of flowers\, flowering trees\, colorful shrubs\, architecture\, and wildlife.\nOn this Photo Walk\, we will specifically photograph the cemetery in the fall! This will be a fantastic opportunity to work on macro while photographing the change of the seasons\, all within the confines of the beautiful rolling landscapes of Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Walk: Low Light at The Longfellow Bridge
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Education for a night photo walk featuring the Longfellow Bridge. During the walk\, we will discuss many of the aspects of photographing in low-light and at night\, including exposure\, focusing\, composition\, and more. Photographers of all levels are welcome!\nThe Longfellow Bridge\, sometimes referred to as the “salt and pepper bridge” due to the shaker-like shape of the bridge pillars\, connects Boston’s Beacon Hill district with Kendall Square in Cambridge. The bridge has stood for over a century\, with major upgrades and renovations only occurring in the early 2010s. In late 2018\, the bridge was enhanced with new LED lighting\, bringing stunning new views to this unique structure. On this walk\, we will spend time photographing the Longfellow Bridge and Boston from numerous angles\, making use of evening light\, civil twilight\, and night time.

In this workshop\, we will show you how to load film into a developing tank\, discuss the elements of the chemistry involved\, and other various aspects. Because of the many variables\, we will only be using one specific type of developer\, but we will discuss the possibilities of other developers available and their advantages.\nWe will provide tanks\, reels\, chemistry\, and basically anything that you need to develop your film. All you will need to have is a roll of film to develop. \nWe will also include a free scan of your film after it has been processed!\nPlease note: Since your film will be wet at the end of the session\, you will leave it to dry and pick it up at a later time.

We will discuss Exposure (how light works with the camera)\, the Big Three Settings (Aperture\, Shutter Speed\, & ISO)\, how they affect your picture and how to set them\, and what mode to set it to on your camera! We’ll discuss changing depth-of-field (controlling what’s in focus in the background\, stopping or blurring the action in your scene\, and many other basic picture-taking techniques. We recommend taking this class prior to Digital Photography Basics 2\, which is the next logical step! \nJoin us to start learning about Digital Photography! \nRegistering and what is needed\nAfter you register for this class\, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class\, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class.
