SUMMARY:Hunt's Photo Adventure: Explore Iceland Photo Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Hunt’s Photo Adventures for another trip to the “Land of Fire and Ice”\, home to some of Europe’s largest glaciers and most active volcanoes\, Iceland! On this workshop\, we will journey to Iceland leading into the winter months for a very exclusive and different look at the countryside.\nIceland is a unique place\, with frozen waterfalls\, beautiful ice caves\, glaciers & frozen lagoons\, and of course the fantastic Northern Lights ? Aurora Borealis. We will travel from Reykjavik\, visit the favorite locations of South Coast of Iceland\, the M?vatn area in the North and explore lesser known areas as we head into the winter season.  \nYour trip includes:\n 	? All accommodations with private bathrooms during the workshop\n 	? All meals\, except dinner on the last night.\n 	? Guiding by Hunt’s Photo Educator Emily Hojnowski & an Icelandic Pro Photographer\n 	? Image Critique & Post Processing session\n 	? Super Truck transportation ? Flybus transfer from Int. Airport and back\n 	? Northern lights Photography \nYour trip does not include:\n 	? International Flights\n 	? Cancellation/Travel Insurance (Strongly recommended)\n 	? Alcoholic drinks\n? Items of Personal nature \n\nYour passport will be required on this workshop.\nA Little Bit About the Workshop:\nThe Workshop will begin in Reykjavik with a group dinner on the first evening.\nTransportation upon Arrival:?We include Flybus vouchers from Keflavik Airport & back after the workshop. Upgrade to a private airport pick up or drop off is available. We use our specially modified 4?4 Super Truck for transportation in our Iceland Workshops.\nDays One and Eleven are dedicated to arrival and departure\, so attendees can schedule their flights accordingly on those days (October 22nd and November 1st).  We generally recommend arriving one day prior to the workshop to get accustom to the time change.\nAccommodations:?Accommodation in double occupancy for ten nights at hotels\, single room is available upon request (single supplement- add $1000). We stay at the various hotels & guesthouses\, but as close as possible to our photography locations. The workshop concludes when we check into our last hotel night in Reykjavik ? Participants will then have time to visit Reykjavik or rest for early flights.\nAdditional Accommodations: If attendees wish to arrive earlier\, we can arrange bookings for extra nights at the same hotel. Price per night per room will be approximately $250 USD.\nSkill Sets:?All Levels of Photographers are Welcome. While this is a photography workshop\, non-photographers may also register\, but please note that we will emphasize photographing on the workshop.\nPhysical Ability:?The tour is open to all ability levels. While this is not a hiking tour\, we will be as active as conditions allow and make short walks and potentially hike up small 100-200 meter hills.\nMisc:?The Workshop includes Photographic tutoring and guidance by our Hunt’s Photo Education team as well as a pro landscape photographer from Iceland. We will provide you with a packing list for the tour\, with recommended equipment and clothing. Safety gear provided when needed\, such as helmets and crampons.\nA Note About Payments and Deposits:?A non-refundable deposit of $1\,000 is required upon sign-up to secure a spot. The remaining balance is due 90-days prior to the workshop. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. \nItinerary\nThis is a guideline for the workshop\, but we may need to be flexible and adjust to the weather and conditions. If places are not accessible\, unsafe\, or closed they will be excluded. Natural occurrences such as the northern lights can?t be guaranteed\, since weather and conditions dictate them. As always when traveling in Iceland we need to be mindful of nature\, follow dedicated paths and other safety instructions from guides. \nDay 1- Arrival in Reykjav?k\nArrive in Iceland and check into your hotel in Reykjavik at 3 pm. A welcome dinner for the group will around in the evening. We?ll go over the itinerary and prepare for our adventure in Iceland\, as well as get to know each other. We meet at 6 pm in the lobby at our hotel in Reykjavik and go out for dinner very close by.\nHotel: Hotel Klettur \nDay 2- Thingvellir National Park & V?k area\n?ingvellir National park\, Almannagj? fault\, and other photography opportunities. Drive to V?k\, seascapes\, Dyrholaey cliffs\, stopping at famous waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss. Northern lights if possible.\nHotel: Hotel Vik i Myrdal \nDay 3 & 4- South Coast\, Seascapes & Waterfalls\nSouth Coast including V?k\, Black beach\, Reynisdrangar sea stacks\, Dyrh?laey sea arches\, and more. Vatnaj?kull glacier national park\, Glacier Lagoon\, Diamond beach\, ice cave\, crawling glaciers and northern lights when possible.\nHotel: Smyrlabjorg Hotel for 2 nights \nDay 5- East Fjords of Iceland\nHeinabergsl?n\, Stokksnes Vestrahorn & Eystrahorn\, We?ll stop in ample locations to photograph sea stacks\, the winding coastal roads\, and the cascading streams down the steep terraced mountains and other lesser known locations in the area.\nHotel: Hotel Framtid \nDay 6\, 7 & 8- M?vatn area\nWe head north. M?vatn\, J?kuls?rglj?fur canyon\, geothermal steam vents\, volcanic formations\, and field craters. Visit to M?vatn nature baths (optional if the group is interested). A trio of waterfalls that are often called ?The Majestic Waterfalls?. Dettifosswe\, Aldeyjarfoss and Go?afoss.\nImage review is often done at M?vatn\, depending on conditions\nHotel: Sel hotel Myvatn for 3 nights \nDay 9- Skagafj?r?ur & Waterfalls\nWe head west along the northern coastline and travel towards Reykjavik. Along the way\, we will stop at some lesser-known locations and spend the night in Northwest Iceland.\nHotel: Hotel Laugarbakki \nDay 10- Hv?tserkur\, Borgarfj?r?ur\, Reykjav?k\nWe begin the day with sunrise at the Hv?tserkur seascape\, we continue towards Reykjavik and stop at a few waterfalls along the way and perhaps some Icelandic horses if we get lucky.\nWe arrive back in Reykjavik late in the afternoon.\nThe guide takes the group to get a COVID-19 test. DESCRIPTION:Please note: This is a 2-part class that will meet on the dates listed above\nAfter learning ?the basics? of digital photography\, become more comfortable in the world of digital photography by taking the next step.\nLearning about photography can be a real challenge! For this reason\, we often start newcomers off using the “Priority Modes” (Ex. Aperture Priority) because it’s “easier”. In reality\, these priority modes are just one solution. For some photographers\, there is only the manual mode. But why is it important to shoot in the Manual mode? Are there reasons to use manual vs. Aperture priority and vice-versa? How can we maximize usability?\nWhile our Beginner class scratches the surface of these functions\, this Beyond the Basics class will cover in-depth:\n?Your Camera?s Light Meter and how it works\n?Use of Aperture Priority vs. Manual modes\n?Histograms\n?Photographing in RAW vs. Jpeg\nWe will also give an assignment to do outside of class in order to help strengthen your photographic abilities!\nUnderstanding the full-functionality of your camera is a necessity to improving your flexibility when photographing in a variety of situations. This course is designed to help you feel more comfortable about how to change your camera?s settings in those situations. It is recommended as a follow-up to our Beginner Photography course.

All in all\, a wonderful experience.?\n?Very much liked the instructors- knowledgeable\, entertaining\, encouraging\, not judgmental. He is a Panasonic Lumix Global Ambassador\, Wacom Pro-Artist and an X-Rite Coloratti. He has been photographing for over 50 years and has evolved his photography to express his intense devotion to wildlife and nature. Over the years has earned numerous awards and recognition both nationally and internationally. Shiv devotes a great deal of his time formally reviewing photography related products\, to education in digital photography and is a speaker and competition judge.\nShiv?s book Time-Lapse Imagery was published in February 2014.

SUMMARY:Providence Show Seminar: Iceland Land of Midnight Sun with Shawn Carey
DESCRIPTION:Iceland abounds in natural splendor: Waterfalls and glaciers\, panoramic views\, and otherworldly landscapes. It is a land of Northern Lights and midnight sun. And it is the realm of one of the world?s most charming and iconic bird: the Atlantic Puffin.  \nBut Iceland is home to much more. During the summer months\, Iceland?s round-the-clock sunlight draws in a panoply of birds: Razorbills and guillemots\, phalaropes and godwits\, plovers and terns\, all accompany the puffins in nesting frenzy. Come along with wildlife photographer and Mass Audubon instructor Shawn Carey as he shares images\, and stories from his journey spent on two Icelandic islands. We will visit Grimsey Island\, the northern most inhabited island off the mainland of Iceland. For bird photographers and bird watchers looking for a great place to view and photograph nesting seabirds that call this island home during the summer this is a place you want to visit.\nFrom Grimsey we will travel to the island of Flatey\, a real hidden gem for bird photographers and bird watchers alike. Most people pass through Flatey (via ferry service out of Stykkisholmur) on their way to the well-known Latrabjarg bird cliffs to see Atlantic Puffins and Razorbills. However\, for those that have or take the time to explore Flatey you will find a small island that offers some very good photographic opportunities\, especially for Black Guillemot\, Red-necked Phalarope and Common Redshank just to name a few.\nIf you are planning a birding or bird photography trip to Iceland\, I would add Grimsey and Flatey island to your travel itinerary. Both are enjoyable places to spend a few days.\nAbout Shawn Carey (Migration Productions) produce bird/wildlife related Multi-media Presentations\, videos and photo workshops that have been presented all over the United States. Shawn moved from his home in Pennsylvania to Massachusetts in 1986 and started watching birds in 1988. Already with an interest in photography and now birds Shawn began to combine the two in 1991. By 1994 he and good friend Jim Grady started Migration Productions as a way to present their multi-image slide presentations to a live audience. Migration Productions have been presenting programs to natural history\, birding organizations and camera clubs since 1994. (Mass Audubon\, Eastern Mass Hawk Watch\, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary and countless others.) Migration Productions offers the finest quality bird/wildlife programs with stunning photographs\, video\, sound tracks\, and interviews with many people involved with bird watching and natural history topics. Shawn’s photos have been published in the Boston Globe\, New York Times\, Mass Audubon Sanctuary magazine\, Science magazine\, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary magazine and many others over the last 20+ years. In 1997 he started teaching bird photography workshops (Fundamentals of Bird Photography) for the Massachusetts Audubon and is an instructor for Summer Fields Schools on Cape Cod for Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
