Located in Eastern Utah is the small town of Moab. The landscape here embodies the look and feel of the American West. Given its location between Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, Moab is a prime destination for all levels of photographers. These areas, as well as others, will provide our group with dramatic landscapes featuring bold, red rock formations and stunning light that shapes the land in a mystical way.
We will photograph in the following locations:
•Moab, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park
•Dead Horse Point
•Island in the Sky
We will maximize our time in the field shooting a multitude of subjects as well as incorporating classroom instruction, critiques, and photographic assignments each day.
• Five (5) days of in-field photography and instruction
• Ground transportation during the 5 days in the field, including from the airport at SLC (see Travel information below)
• Photo workshop permits
• Experienced workshop leaders
• Two (2) Image Discussion and Review Sessions
What’s not included:
• Air fare or baggage fees to and from Salt Lake City, Utah
• Lodging (A Block of rooms has been set aside at a local hotel)

Camera, memory cards, batteries
Wide angle, standard, and telephoto lenses (If you are looking for a lens to rent, you can rent it from us at rentals.huntsphoto.com!)

You will be responsible for your flight to and from Salt Lake City airport. We will be leaving the airport at SLC at 2pm, so make sure your scheduled flight arrives before this time with time to collect your luggage. It is a 4-hour drive from SLC to Moab. Hunt’s will provide all transportation from SLC airport to Moab, all transportation during the workshop and transportation back to SLC for your departure home.
Weather can range from a low of 35° F at night to a high of 80° F during the day. There will be a definite chance of rain during our workshop.
Important things to keep in mind:
•Bring clothing suited for a variety of temperatures, from cold mornings to warm afternoons. Also be prepared for potential rain and for changing weather.
•We will be photographing from 4000 to 6000’ elevation. Normally the only problem you can expect is a slight shortness of breath. However the higher elevation is something to keep in mind if you live at sea level or you are prone to encountering physical difficulties at higher elevations.
•We will be using SUV’s for this workshop. A passenger car will not work because we will be driving on many dirt roads where we will need high clearance and traction that an SUV provides.
Lodging is not included in the cost of this Adventure. We will be staying at the Virginian Hotel in Moab, UT (435-259-5951).
