Online: Photoshop Mini-Sessions- Adding Textures to Photos

Monday July 20th, 11am-12:15pm EST • Online!

Recommended prerequisite: Basic knowledge of computers is helpful

We will be using Adobe Photoshop CC for this class; other versions of the software will not have the same functionality

We recommend considering taking our Photoshop Mini-Session on Basic Layout & Workflow

This class is part of our Photoshop Mini-Sessions category. The full list of these classes can be found here.

Instructor: Emily Hojnowski

Below the course description (but before registration) will be a short explanation on how the class will run.

One of the most fun and creative ways to utilize Adobe Photoshop (as opposed to many other editing programs, including Lightroom) is through using multiple layers. Adding textures to photographs or areas of a photograph are an excellent opportunity to add character, depth, and a uniqueness to an image!
In this class, we will demonstrate and work with images in a step-by-step process to take a photo from Lightroom (or anywhere on your computer), import into Photoshop, add a texture, and then save the file.
This class will specifically cover…
•Layers
•Masking
•Blend modes

The tools we utilize here don’t need to end with just textures. The concepts we will cover in the class can also be applied to other areas–changing the opacity of a layer or image, creating masks which allow you to change one specific area of a photo, and more. If you have an interest in learning more about Photoshop, this is an excellent opportunity!

Registering and what is needed
After you register for this class, you will receive a confirmation email that will include information about how to access the online class, including an online ID code that you will need to get into the class. Make sure to save this information. We will also send a reminder email about 48 hours prior to the class time with that same information.

Layout of the class
The class will begin promptly at the time listed. The majority of the class–roughly 1 hour– will be a presentation on the topic, followed by a short Q&A. During the class, you are welcome to type in questions in the Chat box if you have specific questions as they are asked. We will do our best to answer those questions, but if not, feel free to ask them at the end.

Please read Hunt’s Terms & Conditions before signing up.
