For generations, analog film (35mm, 120, 4×5 and more) ruled the photographic world. But since the turn of the century and the advent of the digital SLR (DSLR), the photographic world has taken a sharp turn away from film and towards digital technology. However, despite the loss of many major company film stocks, many interesting, new film stocks have entered the market and film has remained a unique, niche product with a distinctive look.
During this session, we will discuss the essential aspects of 35mm film, including how to properly load film into the camera, how to properly expose images in your camera, and other aspects to consider when shooting. Primarily, we will focus on black & white, but will also discuss color and slide films.
Please note: There are a lot of film cameras that have existed on the market, and while we know about how to use most of them, we don’t claim to know about all of them! If you know your film camera model, please write it in on the registration screen.
