Refund Policy – Adventures
For most Photo Adventures, a deposit of 25% of the total cost of the workshop is required to hold a spot. Please note: Deposits are non-refundable, but you can receive a 50% credit toward a future adventure. Within 45-days, all payments are non-transferable.
For Photo Adventures under $1,000, we may only have the total cost payment option. In this case, 25% is non-refundable.
For national adventures (excluding Alaska), final payments are due one month prior to the start of the workshop.
For international adventures (and Alaska), final payments are due 90-days prior to the start of the workshop. We strongly encourage travel insurance!

Workshop Description
Spend ten days in Sicily featuring an opportunity to go off the beaten path and savor the vivid colors and intriguing life of Sicily through photography.
Join Hunt’s Photo Education’s Director of Photo Adventures Don Toothaker and Experience Sicily Owner and Curator, Allison Scola for an exciting and immersive itinerary that will delight those who love to travel through the lens. We’ll experience off-the-beaten path seaside villages and mountain towns and have meaningful interaction with locals. We will have local, expert guides at all principal sites, and outstanding traditional cuisine throughout. This trip is not to be missed.
Itinerary:
Thursday January 29th (Dinner included)
• Arrival in Palermo; check in to hotel
• Orientation and Walking Tour Introduction to Palermo’s Historic Center
• Tour Monreale Cathedral, Palermo’s Arab-Norman Patrimony and beyond with a private, expert guide
Saturday January 31st (Breakfast and Lunch included)
• Visit a Sheep and Goat Farm and Cheesemaker in the Countryside
• Mingle with the Locals of a Mountain Village in the Countryside
• Check in at Fishing Village Hotel- a family-run boutique hotel located steps from the port of Sicily’s second largest fishing community
Sunday February 1st (Breakfast and Lunch included)
• Visit the Coast at Porticello and Capo Zafferano
• Visit Ceramic Artist in Her Studio
• Reflect at Villa Palagonia in Bagheria
• Photograph Live Musicians In Palermo
• Visit to the Workshop of a Sicilian Cart Painter
Monday February 2nd (Breakfast and Lunch included)
• Explore Sweeping Segesta
• Visit Salemi
• Visit the Trapani Windmills and Salt Pans
Tuesday February 3rd (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included)
• Check out of the Fishing Village Hotel; Travel to Eastern Sicily
• Tour the Roman Villa del Casale
• Check in to Catania Center Hotel
Wednesday February 4th (Breakfast and Dinner included)
• Feast of Sant’Agata- We will follow the schedule of Catania’s Feast for their patron saint Sant’Agata
• Tour Catania Center
• Visit the Museum of the 1943 Landing, dedicated to the historic events of the second World War, when the Allied forces freed Sicily and Italy from the German occupation
Thursday February 5th (Breakfast and Lunch included)
• Witness the Feast of Sant’Agata
• Visit Siracusa and Ortigia
•Lunch Experience on a Family Farm
Friday February 6th (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included)
• Half Day Excursion on Mount Etna
• This afternoon, you’ll be tangled in the vines at a spectacular vineyard on Etna during a wine experience including an in-depth vineyard tour and tasting.
• Farewell Dinner in Catania
Saturday February 7th

• Group Transfer to Catania Fontanarossa Airport for Departure

Skill Sets: All Levels of Photographers are Welcome, but please note: This is a photography workshop.
Physical Activity: Medium. We will be walking and touring historic sites, towns, and villages for a few hours each day. We will have structured days with planned leisure time.
Payments
A deposit of 25% of the total cost of the trip is required upon sign-up to secure a spot. The remaining balance is due 90 days prior to the workshop. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Experience Sicily can advise you regarding protecting your trip investment.
