A Note About Weather (and weather gear)
On this workshop, it can/may be cold, so make sure to bring clothes to dress in layers. Pack fleece tops, base layers, neck gaiters, hats that cover your ears, gloves, warm socks, good warm boots, and a waterproof insulated jacket or vest.
Travel information
Attendees are encouraged to arrive either the day prior to the workshop or early enough on the first day of the workshop with time to drive from Albuquerquee to Socorro (90 minutes). Please note: Each attendee must get a rental car and travel to Socorro. There may be an opportunity to ride share with other participants.

Refund Policy – Adventures
For most Photo Adventures, a deposit of 25% of the total cost of the workshop is required to hold a spot. Please note: Deposits are non-refundable, but you can receive a 50% credit toward a future adventure. Within 45-days, the deposit is non-transferable.
For Photo Adventures under $1,000, we may only have the total cost payment option. In this case, 25% is non-refundable.
For national adventures (excluding Alaska), final payments are due one month prior to the start of the workshop.
For international adventures (and Alaska), final payments are due 90-days prior to the start of the workshop. We strongly encourage travel insurance!

Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, located in the Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico, has been a prime destination for bird photographers for decades. The wildlife refuge here is a series of man-made waterways, fields, and woodlands established to create habitat and food for migratory birds such as Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese. Each year, thousands of these bird’s rest and forage here for weeks during their annual migration. Photography opportunities for birds, other wildlife, and landscapes are plentiful, exciting, and very rewarding. Photographers of all levels will be challenged by the diversity of subjects as well as the unique beauty that is New Mexico.
In addition to photographing wildlife, this year we will be adding in an extension to White Sands National Park, only a short drive away. White Sands is unique for its stunning and minimal landscapes and are an added bonus for photographers of every skill level.

Itinerary
Dec 5 or 6– Arrive in Albuquerque. Attendees are encouraged to arrive either the day prior to the workshop or early enough on the first day of the workshop with time to drive from Albuquerque to Socorro (90 minutes). Each attendee must get a rental car and travel to Socorro, New Mexico.
Dec 6– Workshop begins at 2pm
Dec 7-9- Entire days in Bosque Del Apache
Dec 10- check out of hotel 6am, sunrise at Bosque
For Extension:
Dec 10 – After sunrise, leave for Alamogordo and White Sands at 8am.
Dec 10 – 2pm to sunset at White Sands
Dec 11 – All Day at White Sands
Dec 12 – Morning at White Sands. Leave for Albuquerque at 10am. (4-hour drive)
Dec 12 – Late flights home or leave on Dec 13
